This location is brand new and just recently had their grand opening. Located in Grandview corners this location offers plentiful amounts of parking. Inside was bright, clean and organized. The staff were super energetic and helpful, explaining all the different flavors and options available to suite anyone's preference. If your a Poke lover than you must try this place out. Of all the other places around Metro Vancouver, this one is by far the closest you can get shy of flying to Hawaii. One thing i love about Steves is that the Poke is marinated before they serve it to you. My pet peeve is getting scoops of cubes fish and just have them drizzle the sauce ontop. This is no how proper poke is made. We will definitely be returning

I have been a long time customer of DHOC. We love our oysters! The highlight of the dinner was to have Adam from DHOC set up am oyster bar at the party. It was the focal point of the dinner and a tremendous hit with our guests. Adam served, cooked and shucked raw oysters. They were all fantastic! I cannot say enough about how fun it was to DHOC at this party. We will definitely have them back again this summer. If you are hosting a party, add oysters to menu! They are the difference between a simple party vs. a fun culinary experience for your family and friends. Our friends are still contacting us to rave about the oyster bar! Thank you, Adam, for making this dinner extra special! We appreciate your hard work and excellent service! I wish I had pictures to share but I forgot to take them!

I appreciated being able to sample the dressing before ordering as I would not want the taste of anchovies to be too strong. The grilled sourdough bread was a nice finish to the salad. We had also ordered a side of bread and the herb butter was delicious! Hubby had the combo half basket with shrimp, oysters, and halibut and it was tasty and just the right amount. I enjoyed the kolsch and hubby the amber. We enjoyed eating outside on a warm, sunny day.

I love the fresh oysters which are served with several options for "dressing" them. Try them all!!! I also had the steamer clams. Wow! Hubs enjoyed his seafood chowder and fish & chips. Knowing it would be a busy day, I made a reservation in advance, which I'm glad I did. This restaurant had fairly good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, I was a little surprised. The restaurant was much more casual than I expected, and the ambiance felt a bit dated. We ordered the half dozen fresh oysters, spinach salad, seafood linguine, and the Creole chicken. Unfortunately, the oysters were disappointing. They weren't as plump or flavorful as the fresh oysters I've had in Vancouver, and they were served with tobiko, which I've never seen paired with oysters before. It wasn't a combination I enjoyed. The spinach salad was good, although I thought it was a bit overdressed. The seafood linguine was also enjoyable, with a generous amount of seafood, though I wasn't expecting it to be made with pesto sauce. It was still a tasty dish. The Creole chicken was just okay--the chicken breast was a bit dry, but the sauce helped make up for it. Overall, I felt the prices were a bit high for the quality of the food and the casual atmosphere. It may be a good option by White Rock standards, but if this restaurant were in Vancouver, I don't think it would stand out. That said, the service was excellent. Our server was genuinely friendly, attentive, and provided the best part of our dining experience.

Moby Dick's is obviously a busy place in the summer, being right across from the waterfront -- but…read morein January, it's a sleepy area and the restaurant is active, but not too busy. We found the food unremarkable - standard fish, standard chips, standard coleslaw, standard tartar sauce. All fried food is pretty standard, pretty greasy, but not any better or worse than many fish & chips shops. So why a 3-star rating rather than 4-stars? First, there is there menu and pricing: What is called a 1-piece fish & chips comes with 2 pieces - all identified fish comes with one extra piece. It's a gimmick, and mostly just annoying. 2nd, there is a charge for everything -- Want tartar sauce? There are three sizes, three prices. Want to substitute onion rings for the fries? Can't do it, even with an up-charge, though you can order fish and you can order onion rings, each separately, each with its own price. Coleslaw? Yes, but not instead of fries. And the coleslaw is pricey - a good sized portion, but a substantial price none-the-less. The portion sizes are reasonably large, but the incessant a-la-carte with each item with a price - one feels nickled and dimed to death. The atmosphere - ok, 1950s-ish, nothing special. The staff, friendly and attentive, but young and inexperienced. And then there was the problem with the cooking -- we got 5 pieces of fish (ordered 2 and 1, which is really 2+1 and 1+1 = 5). Four of them were pretty standard. One was undercooked - cooked on the outer edges (under the fried batter), and raw and translucent on the inside. Yes, they took that off the ticket, so I didn't have to pay for it, but biting into a piece of raw fish with the outside so hot it almost burned my mouth and the inside uncooked - not so pleasant. Moby Dick's gets good ratings from many Yelpers, but in my view, it's not worth going out of your way for.
