Since dental work is expensive I wanted to know what price to expect before paying for a consultation fee - so I made an appointment with someone else who came highly recommended by my regular dentist - That surgeon scheduled me for surgery months out, then cancelled my case 2 weeks before it was to be performed because it was a complicated case and referred me to Dr. Maranon! Everything happens for a reason, because I couldn't be happier or more confident in having my surgery with Dr. Maranon. Everyone in their office including Dr. Maranon is so nice, caring and accommodating. I'm just over one week post-op now and I had almost NO pain at all and no prescription pain medication. They made an experience I was dreading, into no big deal at all. In fact, I really enjoyed meeting everyone in their office - they're lovely people, my results are perfect AND, the fees for my procedure ended up being less than what I had been quoted to me by a less experienced surgeon. There were repeated issues with prescriptions being sent incorrectly or not reaching my pharmacy. The first time, my antibiotics were sent to the wrong pharmacy. Before my eventual extraction, another antibiotic prescription again did not arrive, and when I contacted the dentist over the weekend because my procedure was Monday morning, I felt I was treated very rudely for suggesting that the same pharmacy error might have happened again. The much bigger issue came after my extraction. About four days afterward, I began experiencing severe and progressively worsening pain. I told the office that I had previously experienced dry socket after wisdom tooth removal and that this felt very similar. I was having so much pain that I could not sleep through the night and specifically asked to be examined. It was difficult to get an appointment because I was told they were very busy. When I was finally seen, the examination was extremely brief. I was told that even if I had dry socket, there was essentially nothing that could be done and that I would need to manage the pain with additional pain medication. After several more days of extreme pain, I went to an oral surgeon recommended by a friend. He immediately diagnosed a dry socket, treated it, and within the same day I felt dramatically better. I understand that complications such as dry socket can happen after an extraction. That is not why I am leaving this review. My concern is that I repeatedly communicated how severe my pain was, specifically raised the possibility of dry socket, and still felt dismissed rather than properly evaluated and treated. After seeing how quickly another oral surgeon was able to identify and treat the problem, I was extremely disappointed with the care and follow-up I received here.

Dr. Weber installed an implant for me and it was a very bad experience. I found his office to be…read morevery disorganized, which is a bad quality for a dentist. One time, I showed up for an appointment only to have Dr. Weber look at me and say "what are you doing here?". His assistant forgot to put my appointment on his calendar. The next time, I came in for an appointment, he couldn't find the right part for my implant and asked me to come back after he could find the part. Why not call me a day before to let me know?? I understand that mistakes happen, but there were no apologies. At one point, Dr. Weber tried to blame me by saying "You must be cursed!" Wow. Well, soon after my implant was finally installed, I felt it come loose as I was eating. Good thing I noticed an didn't choke on it! Enough is enough so I went to another dentist for a second opinion. The other dentist (who is now my current dentist) found that Dr. Weber had used the wrong screw to install my implant. That's why it came loose. After that issue was resolved, I started noticing food getting caught between the new implant and my other teeth. My current dentist has advised me to have the implant re-made as the shape of the current implant leaves too much space between it and my other teeth. I just wasted a ton of time on money on a bad implant. If you are looking for a new dentist, I suggest you look elsewhere.

I have reported this office to my insurance company and the Dental Board of California for…read moremisconduct and unethicality. Linda and Jennifer are both extremely rude, and unethical. Jennifer tried to upsell me on PRF for an upper wisdom tooth extraction saying that it was absolutely necessary to try to get more money out of me since they didn't like that insurance was already covering my wisdom tooth extraction. During my consultation Jennifer spent a lengthy amount of time trying to convince me that this additional add-on was needed, then weeks later say it wasn't needed once other additions to my tab was going to already increase my bill. This office also falsely reported to my insurance company that I "missed" my appointment when in fact they refused to provide me service once I declined sedation and since using only local numbing meant they were getting paid less. By the way this refusal of service all happened on a phone call while I was already on my way to the appointment that I had already scheduled for weeks! I advised Jennifer that due to me having a separate dental procedure the previous day I was advised by my dentist that getting sedation the following day was not recommended based on the outcome of my dental work that had unexpectedly happened that day, and that I needed to use local anesthesia instead. Instead of being understanding of what was needed for my dental health, Jennifer and Linda were EXTREMELY rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful since I needed to exclude the add-on services and was no longer going to be paying them more money for the add-on services. They went out of their way to give me a hard time. They should be ashamed of this behavior. Dentists should be genuinely helping patients instead of trying to be like greedy car mechanics ripping people off, being rude, and unethical. They have been reported to the appropriate parties to prevent this from happening to others.
