Please beware of bringing your children here. This happened last year, but i hadn't left a review…read moreat the time. I had been bringing my kids here for quite some time. The previous dentist, Dr. Dan was always amazing with my kids. Well, it seems he no longer works there so we saw Dr. Tran instead. My kids, who never have had any cavity issues, suddenly had a a few??? Mind you, i brought one of my sons a couple of months before this appt to check on some back tooth discoloration which Dr. Dan confirmed to be just a side effect of an iron vitamin he was taking and assured me he had no cavities. But i trusted her. I brought in my kids for fillings with laughing gas. It did not go well at all. First, we were double booked, so we were kept waiting for quite a while. Then i was given paperwork to sign- i looked through it and saw them pre-charge me a behavioral fee?? My kids have never had any behavior issues at the dentist (up until this appt, anyway) and was totally unreasonable to see that on there. I told the front desk and she took it off. But if i just quickly signed it without reading, like I'm sure many busy mothers do, they would have taken money out of my pocket for a problem that never even happened. Then when it was time for the fillings, the techs and Dr did nothing to inform my kids of what they were doing and why, and honestly were quite rude to them. I was shocked. Isn't this supposed to be a children's practice? Shouldn't that come with care, patience, and some guidance for the small kids who have never had a filling before? It was safe to say at this point that my kids were scared and didn't understand why the laughing gas was making them feel the way they felt. I tried to explain to them and calm them since the staff wasn't doing a single thing about it, but they were placed in separate rooms to have their appt at the same exact time (wasn't supposed to happen this way, but due to the double booking, it did), and going back and forth to be with each one to calm them was impossible. The dentist tried for maybe a minute or two on each one to start the fillings and gave up on both of them and said you need to come again, and if it doesn't go well again next time then you still need to pay for the appts in full. I was shocked at how little care and attention she gave my kids. No kindness, no understanding. I don't think she ever even spoke to them directly. Just rude and seemed like a money grab. We made new appts and then left. But then my intuition was screaming that something is off. I took my kids to a different pediatric dentist and guess what? Only one small cavity for my oldest son. No cavities for my younger one. We went from 5 cavities at the other practice, to one small one. Dr. Tran was dishonest with us and it was so disappointing. They were going to put my kids through totally unnecessary dental work. I could not believe someone would do that to small children. We had the cavity filled at the new practice by the way, and not a single tear or complaint from my son because the staff there were patient, understanding, and actually spoke to him about what they were doing. I will be going there from now on and will never be returning to Pleasant Pediatric Dentistry.

Our 20 month old now shrieks with joy and holds up a tiny alien-octopus toy when I say the word…read more"dentist." From the minute we walked in, she was running around repeatedly going down the space-themed slide and exploring all the cool features of the waiting room's indoor playground. We might have had a tiny freak-out when following the dental hygienist back to a room (too much like the scary pediatric RNs who give shots I think) but when we walked into the exam area, she seemed confused - what was this heavenly place? We were assigned a toddler-themed room, which had fun velcro clouds, a tent, a rocking sheep, and all sorts of toys! No scary exam chair in sight. Apparently all the rooms have different themes appropriate for developmental stages! When Dr. Austin came in, he did an excellent job interacting in a non-intimidating way before doing Zoe's first teeth check. He had a great trick with counting to 5 on fingers with the toothbrush to encourage kids to open up for brushing - our toddler still holds her fist out for counting now when we're getting ready to brush! At the end, she loved putting a coin in the machine to get a prize - she can't stop saying "ball" and holding up the little alien toy that came out of the prize ball. There's a reason why everyone with kids recommends this place. Desert Ridge Pediatric Dentistry managed to turn a potentially nerve-wracking experience into one of our toddler's favorite new excursions. Come check it out!

Please read if your child is in need of a dental procedure, it will put your mind at ease!…read more Both my wife and I are physicians, yet when it comes to my son, often first and foremost a timid father. My son was in need of dental extractions. I fought with antibiotics and conservative measures to delay what was likey inevitabile, surgical extraction. Yet when he started to complain of pain, I accepted it was time for surgery. My wife sought out multiple doctors and practices before presenting Desert Ridge Dentistry and team to me as the practice of choice. When I arrived at the office, I was in awe. The space/astronaut/space ship theme had me feeling like I was in outer space. The intense attention to detail, efforts to emulate an out of this world experience put me into a calm state of mind. I thought to myself, if such efforts and passion were put into designing the clinic, I can only imagine what care would be put into my son's surgical procedure. The staff continued to impress me, matching the state of the clinic, flawless! Caring, compassion, instructions and guidance shared from every member of the ancillary staff. As my son and family were "lifted off" into the pre-op holding room, shortly thereafter walked in the doctor. Her confidence and love for my child as if he was her own radiated throughout the room. Listening intently to my wife's additional questions and concerns followed thereafter with a prayer to a shared higher power. Next, we were met by a pediatric anesthesiologist who kept the tone and vibes all positive. I had the privilege of carrying my son into the operative room, where he was greeted by a team of confident, up beat support staff. The anesthesiologist placed a mask over his face, son drifting off to sleep. I walked out of that room with all reservations alleviated. I felt my son was loved and in amazing god gifted hands. The procedure went as flawlessly as that office was run. A knowledgeable, compassionate nurse stayed with my son and I until he was cleared for discharge. The next hour or two as I observed my son at home, went exactly as laid out by the team. Feeling even more so assured that everyone involved at the practice in my son's care provided me with their personal cell phone number shoud I have any questions. The lenght of this review obviously to show gratitude to a world renowned doctor and team, but more so to any parent to alleviate concerns or reservations when it involves the very thing that your world revolves around, sun rises and sets for, their child. I recommend without reservation Desert Ridge Pediatric Dentistry whole heartedly as a parent and doctor! Search no further!

When we came here we were instantly welcomed with a smile and everyone looked happy to see us, not annoyed like others lol. Name tags, fun lobby with fish tank, coloring table and pac man. Great light coming from windows & it is attached to an ortho office so your child can get both things done at the same place. So smart! There are no individual rooms, there are chairs all next to each other In an open room. Parents can sit in a chair next to their child. Then after the visit the kids get a coin to get a special prize out of the machines. On your first visit you get a tshirt, and if you wear your tshirt to your next visit you get 2 coins for 2 prizes :) Overall, the dentist was friendly, helpful and educational. My daughter was at ease with him looking at her teeth. We will be back in 6 months!

Our babies first trips to the dentist was a success thanks to Happy Campers Pediatric Dentistry!…read moreOlivia at the front desk was great at greeting us, handling insurance, and making the appointments all while making our 2&3 year olds feel like special patients. The dental assistant brought us back and showed the kids the nifty tools they use to clean their teeth and got them excited and comfortable in their seats. The cleaning was quick, painless, and the kids did great. I have a horrible fear of the dentist, so I am glad this isn't going to be haunting my next generation. The dentist inspected their baby teeth and all got a good report with directions to brush, ditch the binky, and come back in 6 months. When we left the kids were given tokens for the prize machines which was so fun and clever. They also got t shirts and a new toothbrush and exciting floss!! The office itself is fairly large with a fantastic waiting area for the kids with a fish tank, camping decor, coloring books and crayons, a movie playing, and books to stay entertained. The back of the office invites campers back with more fun decor, colorful chairs, and a comfortable atmosphere that makes the dentist fun! We were nothing but impressed and pleased with Happy Campers, and our kids are pumped to brush and floss now!
