My son is a disabled adult and has always had issues - BIG issues - with dentist visits. He's had to be sedated to get his teeth cleaned. But not with Dr. David! The doctor is very caring, understanding, and skillful. He's able to clean my son's teeth without any sedation OR freak outs on my son's part. He used to scream and/or throw up at dentist visits. I want to start out by saying I am incredibly picky when it comes to dentists. I originally was going to Dental Depot but they didn't have a team that was specialized in infants or toddlers so switched to Kids Dental Spot. I had zero idea that they specialize in kids with special needs when I made my first appointment. My child does not have special needs but she hates being touched and is very shy and she has always had such an amazing experience. She loves going here for checkups. Having Cerebral Palsy my whole life I have not found a dentist that I liked, and due to that I had bad teeth my whole life. He was always phenomenal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had no clue he would no longer be at that location until October 17, 2024 when I took my kid in for a checkup. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The new doc at that location as well as all staff there except for ONE dental assistant were all disgustingly rude to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They never answer their phones or call back when voicemails are left. They don't even respond to emails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My son needed antibiotics and the doc didn't give them to my son who clearly has a cavity that is hurting him terribly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had an ROI conducted that same day, my son's doctor's office got the information to the dentist immediately.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Here we are in the first week of November and I never heard from that office.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had to go in just to get answers. Their answer was, "no antibiotics were sent yet and your son will eventually go on a waiting list for his cavity." I was stuck. Threw my hands up and was dumbfounded. So, stay away from Dentist for Special Needs on tatum and bell road. They are truly horrible. Anywho... Longer story short, I prayed on it and happened to run into my son's original doctor!!!! I was so happy to know he was at this location and immediately transferred my son's care to him. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I barely called yesterday and got a first appointment today!!!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not only did he immediately call in a prescription for antibiotics for my kiddo, he also had his staff schedule my son's surgery to give the meds enough time to do it's job in the meantime so that dental work isn't so tough on my son. Dr. David is the BEST dentist we have ever seen! We moved here from California 4 years ago and my daughter has Pierre Robin Sequence and had a jaw distraction, both of which created many dental challenges for my daughter. We had a specialized and highly trained dentist affiliated with CHOC in CA. When we moved here, I looked and couldn't find one that would help my daughter and/or was qualified to do so. I resigned myself to the fact that I was going to fly back and forth to see our prior dentist, but then I found Dr. David. He is so knowledgeable. He is so kind and patient. His training at UCLA is bar none the best and he has knowledge and training of all of the new and cutting edge research and techniques. He has performed extractions on my daughter - he was the first and only dentist to do so not under general anesthesia. He has an amazing attention to detail. He interacts and follows up with her orthodontist. He has an amazing bed side manner and he has my daughter laughing and joking. He answers all of my (many) questions. He takes his time with my daughter during our appointments and makes sure to explain everything to us. Dr. David and his staff are super responsive. My kids both love him. They both look forward to going to the dentist! What kid ever says that! I can't say enough great things about Dr. David.
