Avoid. Received very little attention and was told to take Aleve and run through the pain. Very disappointed.

This doctor is a poor communicator and in my opinion is not a good doctor. I would not go back as a patient after he did my surgery.

Yes, he's not chatty--but he answered any questions I had and his PA spent a long time reviewing the surgery in my pre-op visit.

I paid for the inserts, paid for the cortisone shots and therapy. I did this all out of network because I figured that as a runner, he would know feet. My pain didn't heal. At all. I still walk around with pain in my several hundred dollar inserts. Then, a few months later, I get a bill saying that I still owe money that my insurance didn't pay. I told the woman, very nicely, that while the cost was not much, I couldn't pay for something that I didn't receive: good medical care. Well, she disagreed and sent me to a collections agency. I was taken aback by this. Truly taken aback. If a patient says, "I still hurt," should the doctor call you back to see what was wrong? If I wanted cortisone shots, I would have just gone in network. Not out of network to be taken to a collections agency. Shameful business practice and I will, in case you guessed, never be back.

Since I went to Dr. Petko based on his positive Yelp review, I figured I owed him (and Yelp) a…read morereview of my own! I've been putting off getting new orthodics for about five years, out of fear of non-coverage, needing referrals, etc. Finally, i was desperate enough to face whatever potential financial hardship would come my way. From first phone call to the end of the appointment, they were great! The woman at the front desk was very friendly on the phone and when we were discussing appointment times, she was able to get me in that evening due to a cancellation- sweet! Also, she called me 20 minutes later to get a phone number for my insurance so that she could find out whether my plan would cover orthodics, which I thought was great. I had to wait about 45 minutes before I saw Dr. Petko, which was slightly frustrating. However, all the staff and Dr. Petko were extremely apologetic throughout my visit and the doctor let me know that an emergency broken ankle had come in... certainly more important than my foot moldings, so I understood and didn't mind that they made me wait! Like the other yelp review, Dr. Petko is very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time talking to me about my long history of running, injuries, and physical therapy. I don't know if it was because I had to wait so long or because i was the last appointment of the night, but it was refreshing to not have a doctor do the standard "friendly-but-i-got-another-appointment-in-fifteen-minutes-so-lets-hurry-it-up" attitude. I didn't find him to have a "stoic demeanor", though- he was very friendly and i felt like he talked to me runner-to-runner. It felt nice to have a doctor who can relate to and wants to look after my ability to continue doing what I love to do. Would definitely recommend!

Dr. Almudallal who treated me is indeed a caring professional podiatrist. But, unfortunately, I will never step foot there again and would not recommend this place to anyone. Fortunately there are other wonderful Podiatrist in Falls Church where I will seek treatment. I felt like I was talking to a gangster. This billing person accused me of bad behavior because I asked what my share of the cost would be for orthotics recommended by the doctor. I must report my experience to Medicare because I am shaken. He said their facility would not tolerate my behavior and to go elsewhere. I am a 68 year old African American woman who has never spoken unkindly to anyone. Please seek treatment elsewhere. A place where your phone inquiries will be addressed with dignity and respect. More than just rude. This person who takes calls is frighteningly unqualified to be in customer service.

Not only was he very delicate with my feet, but he was also very compassionate in giving honest feedback and advice in improving my overall nail-health as a woman seeking natural remedies while working at home and as an athlete. I felt that other local offices were really just trying to sell me their antifungal solutions or provide other ineffective routes for the care, but Dr. Pearl really took a closer look at it and I appreciate his consideration and expertise. While the office space isn't the most grandeur, I feel like many of these older reviews are too harsh (or perhaps they renovated recently). The other local podiatrist I went to in McLean had a much better-looking office, but the care was neither ideal nor targeted to my condition. The office from a glance seems to me to be just the perfect size for a single doctor taking care of one patient at a time, and it was also very clean. Scheduling an appointment also couldn't be easier, just give them a call and say a couple times when you'd be free, their receptionist will enter you into their system gladly and fast. The wait was also not that long and I could tell Dr. Pearl was really trying to be time-efficient as I walked-in since after arrival I entered the waiting room within just a few minutes. Overall, I'd say this experience was great and feel glad with sincerity that there are still a few doctors out there who are really sensitive and oriented towards the patient's needs. Highly recommended for anyone who doesn't want to empty their wallet. Looking forward to wearing my beautiful summer sandals again!
