I've been a patient of Dr. Gillis for about a year now, and I can say he is the very best chiropractor I have ever worked with. He takes time to explain what adjustments he's doing, and even shows me the impact of my posture on my back and spine over time, and how I can improve that. They are incredibly responsive and always work with me to fit my busy schedule into theirs. Recently, I woke up one morning with incredible lower back pain, and for the first (and hopefully last) time in my life, I really couldn't walk properly. This was the first time at a chiropractor in many years and I decided to look online given the serious pain brought on unexpectedly and needed immediate attention. (in generaI I only go by personal referrals from friends etc) but decided to read the many 5 star reviews and "take a chance". I'm sure glad I did because Dr Gillis was wonderful in every way. His attitude, demeanor, professionalism and caring was just right and in the end he took care of my very painful problem after one visit. Wish I could give 10 stars! Not being in any pain at all after leaving would be enough by itself, but Dr. Gillis is also very kind and took the time to explain everything and even showed a few videos and 3D imaging tools. He clearly cares deeply about his patients and his work. Also, very reasonable rates!! And last thing, although I could go on and on, they use a scanner that shows any imbalances in the weight in your feet and your posture, which was super helpful. I went to see Dr. Gillis today who is quite the gentle Chiropractor and sole. I've seen him several times over the years and have always been pleased (and fixed). Today after the typical massage while waiting for my appointment I was very happy to see his new AUTOMATIC FLEXION TABLE. The old table was nice but after being on this table I can't say I could go back. The entire table adjusts so many ways both for me to be comfortable as well as for him to see what needs to be fixed. To give you an idea, after I laid down on the table the above waist and below waist areas are supported by two different sections of the table and the bottom half was moving my legs up and down then around in circles and as this was happening gently and easily he could see what my back was doing and where the spasms were and make the necessary adjustments. Truly if the table wasn't there I'd still go back because I'm always "fixed" when i leave. They don't try to schedule you for further appointments when you don't really need them. Most times I've seen him it's been one or two visits and I'm up and running again. read more

Dr Gillis and staff are amazing! From the time you call to schedule an appt with Jeannette, to getting adjusted or working on a specific area, the entire experience is fantastic. I found the office by luck and a referral and have been a patient ever since. It's not a walk in, crack your back sort of experience as so many others I've tried have been. Dr. Gillis takes a good amount of time asking about what your feeling and also feeling around assessing what might be happening and trying to find the cause. I come for routine adjustments now that My original issues are getting better and not because they tried to sell me on coming for some sort of package. Please excuse my super cliche comment that is about to follow, but it's true: This was actually my first time at a chiropractor ever, so I really wasn't sure what to expect. OK, cliche over, I really had NO idea what was going to happen. All I knew was that I couldn't move my neck (like Frankenstein's monster) and I needed to get it fixed quick! Lucky for me, Dr. Gillis was able to get me in the same day I called. Jeanette the receptionist was/is amazing--so kind and helpful. Dr. Gillis waltzed in, chatted with me about what to expect and what I was feeling, then went to work! After a few cracks and pops and the use of a few interesting tools, I was out feeling mildly better. After about an hour I was feeling a LOT better. The whole time we chatted about cycling (he's an avid cyclist), therapy in general, and a few other random things that just made the experience that much better. Table manner=A+. A day or so later, he called and left a message checking in, which was extremely impressive. The only negative thing I can say is that this whole back/neck-cracking thing is addictive because you feel great afterwards! I seriously want to go in every week just so he can give me a good workover. Great Chiro. Found a good time in accommodation of my schedule and was easy to park. I just read about the roller bed on a prior comment and they're right, I'd like to have one of those in my house. Dr. Gillis was very kind and had soothing, calming energy. He was confident but in a very delicate way; and since my back was in terrible pain I'm glad for his soft touch. His confidence and demeanor helped me relax which I'm sure helped him help me back (pun intended). Overall, it was a good experience for one I'd rather not have needed. I was looking for a Chiropractor and Dr Gillis was one of the only 5-star on Yelp I found so I decided to make an appointment for a visit. When I scheduled the appointment, they asked me for my insurance info and I have United Healthcare and turns out my insurance covers my treatment so I only have to make a small copay. Parking is easy - plenty of metered parking on the street ($1 for an hour). I've been training for a half-marathon and I've been having a pain on my knee after my runs and when I'm walking up and down the stairs. Dr Gillis was able to tell me the problem right away and showed me how that affects my whole body. He performed the Graston treatment which helped break down the scar tissue. This technique is often used on professional athletes and Dr Gillis is trained to perform this type of therapy. During the treatment, I asked him a couple other questions related to my current health and body condition so he did a more thorough checkup for me. He did an alignment for me and explained every step of the procedure. After a 45-minute treatment, I feel a lot more refreshed and I was able to focus at work because my shoulder pain was gone. This is my first time ever seeing a Chiropractor and I was impressed the moment the treatment was done. I would recommend Dr. Gillis for anyone suffering back and shoulder pain and those who are suffering from sports injuries. He is friendly, easy going, and I would recommend telling him about your daily routine, work environment, and habits - because that's how he found out what was wrong with my body! read more

I have received chiropractic care for nearly 20 years now, across multiple countries and US states, and Dr Gillis is absolutely one of the best that I have come across. He is gentle and effective. No cranking or undue force behind any of his adjustments. He tunes into what your body is feeling that particular day and is able to induce such a sense of ease that muscles relax fully to allow for the painless adjustments. Dr. Gillis is an earth angel. I'm a mom to beautiful 6 year old that is on the spectrum and he likes to roughhouse... well, I felt like I had a pinched nerve in my lower back as a result. As time went on, It was getting worse, I had such bad back issues that sitting down was causing me pain. I was referred to Dr.Gillis by a friend and after the very first visit I felt like myself again! The day after I woke up with no pain! It was glorious!! Over the last 6 months or so, I have been in a LOT of pain. My Neck, My Back... you get the idea. I am a corporate flight attendant and my job is very strenuous on my body. Not only do I schlep around a crap-load of luggage for 18 days straight, but at times I survive on minimum sleep while never letting my body clock adjust to a normal schedule. Needless to say, I have been waking up each morning feeling how my 85 year old grampa must feel when he stretches his tired bones every morning. I was having sciatica pain for about 2 weeks, even got to the point that I was using a crutch because when the sharp pain shot down my leg, it would buckle under me. I went thinking I would receive some sort of evaluation and subsequent adjustment. But instead he hooked some electrodes to my back, turned on a machine then left the room for 15 minutes. When he came back, he used something that felt like my Brookstone back massager for a few more minutes. Finally he slapped on something that was basically an "Icy/Hot" patch. His recommendations were to wear a back brace (which he "provided" - my bill was $139!?) , take Aleve and ice the area for 20 minutes at a time. I swear he spent more time looking at the tattoo on my ass than he did treating me. Will not return. read more

My first review ever. I'm compelled to write a great review for Dr Gillis as he has helped me immeasurably. I had only been to a chiropractor twice before and was a little hesitant, but in enough pain to motivate me to go! Dr Gillis immediately put me at ease. He's exceptionally kind and very knowledgeable in an intuitive way that seems informed by years of experience. I had significant relief after two sessions. Pretty amazing. No pressure to return after the situation was no longer acute but I have returned regularly for maintenance. Dr. Gillis is the first chiropractor, of many over a 15 year period, that I felt entirely comfortable with. His method of treatment is gentle, which I like, and firm, to have the effectiveness I'm looking for. I had lingering back issues when I first starting seeing him, not to mention a significant alignment problem. It took only a few sessions for me to really start to fee the beneficial effects of Dr. Gillis' treatments. He is very informative, and helps me understand my treatments, symptoms, and mechanics of my back. He encourages me to do certain exercises at home and while traveling, and created an online program of exercises I can login to review. Unlike many experiences I've had with chiropractors, I never felt pressured to buy additional products like sole inserts, back support for car, bed, couch, ceiling, floor, sky, etc. etc. etc.. I have in fact researched sole inserts (foot levelers) in the past and was not impressed with the presentation, and the feeling I got was they were more to enhance income for my chiropractor as a supplement rather than to help my condition. Dr. Gillis was the complete opposite. I in fact inquired about arch support, and his approach was one from an educational stand point, rather than from a "you mus have this or else this awful thing will happen to you" pitch, which I've heard time and time again. I gave up seeing chiropractors for several years, before deciding to open my mind again and look around. I also find Dr. Gillis to be more "intuitive" in his treatment methods, rather than text book. Like any healing art, it is an "art", and I find practitioners that operate, at the core level, from a state of intuition rather than from pure "text book", offer far more effective results.
