He's got a very laid back manner though highly professional. if it wasn't for the fact that I hate metal in my mouth and the sounds of drills so much, he'd see me much more often! the customer service is excellent which is saying a lot in Miami much less on the beach. truly a gem in the heart of our beach city. and also, it's very reasonably price. you absolutely get your moneys worth. unless either one of us moves, I'll be seeing Dr. Ilon from here on out for my dental care, and the place is beautiful too!

I had a dental emergency on a Sunday morning and found Dr. Herrera through Google. I'm always…read moreanxious about seeing a new doctor, but I was in a lot of pain and needed a root canal as soon as possible. To my surprise, Dr. Herrera personally called me back on Sunday evening. Even though I was not his patient and he had a busy schedule, he offered to see me first thing the next morning. The first thing that impressed me was the office itself. It looked so bright, modern, and spotless that I assumed it had just been built. I later learned it was renovated before COVID, but they have clearly maintained it exceptionally well. Dr. Herrera demonstrated a level of professionalism and attention to detail that is hard to find. He took the time to clearly explain the procedure, the risks, and the expected outcome. His team immediately contacted my insurance company and provided a clear explanation of all costs before treatment. I honestly cannot remember experiencing this level of communication and transparency in any medical office in Miami. The procedure itself went smoothly, and I did not feel any pain or discomfort during the root canal. What impressed me even more was the follow-up. After the procedure, the office contacted my dentist directly, sent them the treatment details, and also provided me with a copy of the report and images for my records. On top of that, the office called me multiple times after the procedure to check on my recovery and make sure I was doing well. That level of care is rare and made me feel like a person rather than just another patient on the schedule. I am beyond impressed with Dr. Herrera and his team. Dr. Valls is not a 'slick' salesman; he works within your means to ensure that you receive appropriate care within your financial constraints. I also like that he mentors visiting dentists who work beside him to learn before returning to their home countries to practice dentistry. It says much about an individual's character when they 'pay it forward' as Dr. Valls does. Any review of South Beach Dentistry would only be complete with mentioning Alejandre, the 5-star Dental Hygienist. I have learned so much about proper dental care from Alejandre. Communication about charges has also been unclear and inconsistent, and no one could give me a straight answer about billing. As I had to request four different times for the office manager to email me the charges, and have not received an email till this day. I contacted corporate about these issues and was contacted by someone named Beth, who initially apologized and said she would take care of the situation. Unfortunately, she has since stopped providing solutions and appears to have aligned with the same unprofessional behavior instead of resolving the ongoing problems she said she would handle. When I tried to address these concerns directly with the office, the office manager was rude and dismissive rather than helpful or professional. I would avoid her at all costs as she has no idea what the charges shes taking are for. This experience showed a complete lack of organization, accountability, and respect for patients' time.
