He took the time to explain what was going on and what he was doing, which really helped ease my nerves. The procedure itself was smooth and surprisingly painless. I also have to give a huge shoutout to the front desk and support staff. They were incredibly kind, welcoming and organized from start to finish. Scheduling was easy, check-in was quick and they made sure I understood everything about the process and aftercare. It's rare to find an office where every single person you interact with is that friendly and helpful. Professional, Compassionate Care from Dr. Harley at Ryan Endodontics I was referred to Ryan Endodontics by my new dentist due to a bad infection, and honestly, I was extremely swollen, in pain, and really scared. Dental work -- especially anything involving an infection -- is definitely not my comfort zone. My husband and I first visited the Walnut Creek location, and right away I felt a little more at ease. There was plenty of parking, the office was easy to find, and when we walked in, we were kindly greeted. The space was clean, welcoming, and had a really calm, inviting vibe. Even the music was great -- which actually helped relax my nerves more than I expected! After some x-rays, I met with Dr. Harley, who confirmed that I needed a root canal. He was extremely professional, kind, and most importantly, thorough. He explained everything in detail, walked me through the whole procedure, and was double -- even triple -- checking everything to make sure nothing was missed. Once the root canal was completed, he took another set of x-rays just to confirm everything looked perfect, and I was sent home with clear aftercare instructions. A few days later, I noticed something on my gums that didn't feel quite right. Dr. Harley was so responsive and made time to bring me back in for a quick check-up, just to make sure everything was healing properly. That kind of care and attention is rare these days, and I really appreciated it. If you're nervous about dental work like I am -- especially something as major as a root canal -- I cannot recommend Dr. Harley and the entire Ryan Endodontics team enough. I was referred to Ryan Endodontics by Dr Mona Gokani - who is an awesome dentist - and since it was her recommendation to see Ryan Endodontics I followed her advice. The experience was so great...from when I called to make the appointment and spoke with Andrea, to coming into the office and meeting Gigi, having the scan done for a possible root canal by Karina, then meeting Dr Harley Grandin...they were all excellent. The whole office had a good vibe and I could tell that I would allow them to do the root canal if needed. After the scan was done and then spoke with Dr Grandin, it was recommended that I have the root canal. Fortunately I was able to do this in one visit, scan and consult was about 15min, then root canal another 45mins, and Dr Grandin did a great job on the root canal. He had a great sense of humor along with the office staff, I would highly recommend anyone to Ryan Endodontics!!! read more

I recently had the privilege of having the dreaded first root canal last week. I was referred by my general Dentist earlier that morning and they were able to see me same day. When I got there the staff was friendly and felt like a family atmosphere. I was impressed by the music playing in the background as it reminded me of being in a lounge. I met with Dr Harley who immediately made me feel comfortable. He went over the root canal procedure and what I liked most was he updated me during the process every step of the way. Being a little nervous, I asked if he could turn up the music and he agreed. This was an added bonus! In the end the procedure was less than 1hr. The best Endodontist I have ever seen. This Endodontics and his office is a 5/5 stars professional. Dr. Ryan is highly skilled and trained. He has the proper X-Ray Equipment, and the 3D X-Ray CT scan, to clearly see the problems. Dr. Ryan was an expert in evaluating my cracked tooth. He was very informative and clear when he was consulting his solutions for my cracked tooth. Dr. Ryan was willing to help me and he delayed no time by scheduling me for an appointment right away after his evaluation. He did an excellent work on my root canal and filling. His staffs and his registered dental assistants were very intelligent and were gentle professionals to me. I have experienced no pain during the surgery and he was very quick in operating on my tooth. Finished in one hour. I feel very grateful and felt very lucky to have been helped by him. He did an excellent work on fixing my tooth. I can smile with more confidence. Thank you Dr. Ryan for being the best Endodontist to me. If I could give them more stars I would! I HATE any type of dental work, which was what probably resulted in me having a root canal. I can honestly say it was the most pleasant dental experience I have ever had. Dr. Harley had the best chair side manner. He was informative, calm, and his work was nothing short of refined. There was little discomfort in what should have been pretty extensive. However, what was most notable was his passion for the work he does and his pride in work quality. You can tell Dr. Harley loves his work. If you are going to have a procedure that impacts your mouth, you want someone who has an obvious passion for it. That's how you know you are in good hands. Such a positive experience for what is such a difficult procedure. I so appreciated Dr. Harley's creativity and expertise. When I was certain I would have to lose my tooth, he found something on the x-ray and offered to give it a try even though he only gave it a 10% chance. His enthusiasm during the procedure made me feel so much more comfortable--he actually cheered when the x-ray showed he'd found what we hoped was the problematic root! Plus the office staff and assistant are super friendly and compassionate. So far, so good. Root canals have a bad reputation (for good reason, they aren't exactly fun) but my experience at Ryan Endodontics made an uncomfortable process very tolerable. Starting with a nice, clean waiting area - I was taken back into Dr. Harley's office with almost no wait. Throughout the consult the staff could tell I was anxious and were very patient and caring. They had no problem with me listening to my earbuds, and they periodically checked to make sure I was OK multiple times through the procedure. In fact, I had 2 teeth near each other that both needed root canals and although the appointment was originally just for one, they gave me the choice to do them both that day...which I opted to do (which is saying a lot given how anxious I was when I started and how comfortable I ended up being, in spite of a drill in my face). There were no complications with the root canal and the pain/swelling in the following days was very minimal. There was one part where a malfunctioning dental dam allowed some disinfectant to leak onto my cheek (through no fault of the staff), and since I have sensitive skin I could feel a burn. Dr. Harley immediately cleaned it off and applied vaseline to protect the area. Dr. Harley checked in on me the following day and even recommended some A+D ointment for the burn mark which cleared up in no time. Over the course of the next 3 or so weeks he checked in 3 times to ensure after care was going well. It really felt like they went the extra mile to ensure a good experience. All in all I would 100% recommend Dr. Harley and the team at Ryan Endodontics... I hope I never have to get another root canal again, but if I do I will definitely return and will feel much less anxious going into it. read more

I'd been having a toothache for a while, but hate getting dental work done. I went to my dentist and they recommended I call Ryan Endodontics for a special X-ray and possible root canal. I finally called, and got in to see Dr. Harley two days later. He was very nice, and explained everything as he went along, and I really felt like he understood my questions and my nervousness, and he just kept me feeling calm. My root canal was finished in under an hour, and he did an excellent and thorough job. I didn't even have pain after my one dose of Ibuprofen wore off, or at all the following day. I can highly recommend Dr. Harley, and I look forward to never seeing him again. read more

What is an emergency? Called my local dentist here in Pleasanton, who got me seen at 8am the day of my phone message. 15 minutes later they tell me i might have an abscessed root that requires a possible root canal. Got to see an expert and then a referral to the experts at Dr. Ryan office and seeing Dr. Harley. At 9:15 I'm in the chair and they tell me you might need a root canal but since you've been taking Advil/Tylenol combo lets wait a day because the Advil has taken away any swelling and Tylenol has reduced the pain. Dr. Harley wanted to be 100% sure before moving forward with my surgery. He sets up an appointment to see me the next day (11:45) right before his lunch hour, to double check if i'll need that root canal. After a painful night with only 30 minutes of sleep (due to dull pain in mouth) i get to sit down with Dr. Harley. Yes, I definitely need a root canal. Dr. Harley and his (2) assistants commence work on me. They all work through their lunch breaks and push back (short time) the next scheduled appointment (sorry dude) to get my 'emergency' completed. they worked quickly and efficiently. After 1.5 hours my root canal was finished. I can't tell you how much better i felt after Dr. Harley and his team concluded my treatment. The pain was gone and my mouth was back to normal. I don't wish this type of pain on anyone. Ryan Endodontics saw me immediately and fixed "my emergency". I should also mention the office was very modern with new equipment. The entire staff was great, I'm now a bit biased since my pain is Gone! read more

Root canals are my worst nightmare and I had several done by my "old school" Endodontist, who is now retired. In extreme pain, I reluctantly walked into Ryan Endodontics' modern streamline office and was warmly greeted by Gigi, the receptionist whose delightful demeanor had a very calming effect on me. My anxiety level was sky high as I reclined in the chair, covered by my weighted blanket; I donned my AirPods and cranked up the music. Clearly, I was a nervous wreck as Dr Harley started the root canal on my abscessed canine tooth. When I realized he was talking and at times touching my shoulder, I removed one AirPod to hear what he was saying and it wasn't long before I removed both AirPods so I could hear him clearly. Throughout the procedure, Dr Harley was continually explaining what he was doing, and also encouraging me with words of affirmation. I found myself relaxing and was fascinated by his technique and efficiency. The entire procedure was over in 45 minutes, and when I commented how fast he was, he replied that he tried to be, because he knew I didn't want to be there. As he shook my hand, he said, "I look forward to not seeing you again." I recently had to get a root canal done and was referred here by my regular dental office Smile Time Dental and Bollinger Canyon Dental. Both places highly recommend Ryan Endodontics and I'll tell you why and that I was not disappointed in the least. The office is polished and professional. His staff are kind, courteous, and knowledgeable. I was given the option of same day and next day appointments. The equipment used is state of the art. I went to see Dr. Harley at the Pleasanton office. He was kind, compassionate, and payed very close attention to detail. He delivered top notch and precise care. He educated me on the process of the root canal and my oral health every step of the way. I was made very aware and comfortable throughout care. There was extremely relaxing ambient music. Overall, Ryan endodontics is what you want when you go see an endodontist. It takes all the fear out of going to the dentist with their kind and compassionate care.
