I didn't know what it was at the time or how to deal with the pain. My primary doctor recommended I see a spine specialist and begin physical therapy. I had heard about DISC on our local sports radio and from a friend that had been here before. Desert Institute for Spine Care is the leader in minimally invasive spinal surgeries. Everyone has been nice so far and informative about my situation and what to expect. My journey is still at the beginning for me. I am starting out with the least invasive options for myself like physical therapy and spinal injections to help manage my pain. So far I am seeing some moderate success with these options and able to enjoy life with minimal pain. Everyone's journey and experience is different. I am just thankful I have somewhere to go if things get worse for me.

Both him and the PAs that I have seen have been incredibly kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and thorough with my care. They have taken the time to answer my questions and respond promptly and in a timely manner when I have called and left voicemails for their front office staff and medical assistants. Dr. Wang did a Microdistectomy for me as well and was an incredible surgeon. The care here is top of the line and all of the surgeons in the practice come highly recommended.

The instructions were to take until not needed and then taper off. The next morning after the surgery I called and said that I had no pain and could I skip the Oxy. They said yes. Two days later I had the same conversation regarding the Celebrex. It is now a year and a half later and I still have no pain. I have friends who have had hip replacement surgery from other doctors who have had problems and need revisions or replacements. However, I should note that Dr. Chow has withdrawn from Medicare so his fee is not covered by insurance and Medicare will not reimburse a patient for it. My experience was so good that in just over a month I am having Dr. Chow replace my right knee. I am optimistic that the experience will be similar.

This company has a sign in their lobby offering free gift cards if you complete a referral on Yelp…read more I was referred to come here.. wow what a mistake! My first impression they had everyone's names available for everyone to see when you check in..HIPPA violation, I brought that to the attention of the front office staff, they didn't seem to concerned. They are not a company that I would bring my business to or recommend. My first appointment with them was delayed on their end. The second appointment that I had the following week scheduled was canceled in less than 24 hours notice because the provider was not available. I schedule for another appointment for the following week & I confirmed via email and then I received a phone call around 6:30 informing me that I needed to be there at 2pm. I explained to the person that I confirmed for 2:30 as that was my appointment time, the staff was ridiculously rude and talked over me as I explained that I work and it takes almost a half hour to get there. She then informed me that I had a following appointment for the following week, I had not scheduled for that appointment nor had the time off set with my employer. I explained that I was not going to make any appointments for this company as they are disorganized. I explained to cancel the appointment. The staff refused to hear me and said they would see me tomorrow. I received a follow up text from them saying I had an appointment and I canceled my appointment and blocked them from further text messages. Honestly I couldn't feel any difference after the first appointment and it's such a hassle to be scheduled. Ya, I definitely do not recommend this place. Any place that will reward you with a gift card for posting is a huge red flag I should have left before my first appointment.
