Admission is free but donations are accepted. The museum is just open on Fridays and Saturdays. A narrow gauge railway is typically used in mountainous terrain and less populated communities as they are cheaper to build. They were used for mining, logging, quarrying, and moving agriculture products. Inside the museum you will see all of the artifacts and there are a lot of them. So much history in a small place. If you are passing through this area I highly recommend a stop at the museum.

Weeds regularly reach over a foot tall, yet management is quick to blame everything from the weather to property ownership rather than simply getting the grass cut. It's a perfect metaphor for the whole place -- neglect wrapped in excuses. As for amenities, calling this a resort is comedy gold. There's a small, perpetually crowded pool that's the only semblance of recreation. Beyond that? Nothing. No playgrounds, no activities, no amenities for kids -- unless you count watching the weeds grow as entertainment. The "main office" doubles as a ghost town; there's no store, no supplies, and certainly no service. The showers and changing rooms only operate during pool hours, which means forget early showers, late rinses, or any kind of off-season use. And the mountain side? It's an oven with no tree cover -- a sunbaked slope that feels less like camping and more like punishment. But the crown jewel of disappointment here is the management. The manager, Bridgette, has turned poor hospitality into an art form. Unless you're in her inner circle, expect hostility instead of help. Any mention of the park's shortcomings is met with denial or name-calling -- everyone's a liar except her. Fees appear out of thin air, rules shift without warning, and enforcement feels more like harassment than management. We were even chastised for having kids' toys and outdoor furniture -- apparently joy is a violation here. Before booking, I strongly encourage anyone to read the management's responses to other negative reviews. Notice the pattern -- rather than addressing issues, she calls the reviewers liars. I'm sure this one will be no different. If you're looking for a peaceful camping getaway, keep driving. If you're nostalgic for the charm of a retirement community run by a vindictive HOA that accidentally allows children, you've found your paradise. Lake James Campground and Marina could be something special -- but until the management and maintenance rise to even basic standards, it's a cautionary tale, not a destination.

There's a tiny house section and some interesting types of dome housing. Weekday rates for these start at 99.00 per.night. Weekend rates for each of these starts at 149.00 per. night. Great opportunity to experience tiny home living in a beautiful country setting! Traditional RV sites and tent sites are also available. Weekday rates for the RV sites and tent sites start at 49.00 and 31.00 respectively. Weekend rates for these are also a bit more expensive. Many amenities here including a pool, camp store, and restrooms. If I understood correctly, with notice; hot tubs are available for rent. Absolutely beautiful campground to spend a quiet and relaxing time. I enjoyed this tour!

She got on lake houser ATV parks website and accidentally clicked a link for a nearby campground Broad River campground and booked it there by accident. When she gave me my surprise and I realized the mistake I immediately contacted Broad River campgrounds to try to get a refund nobody answered the phone there were dozens and dozens of messages left by family members and even the owner of lake Hauser campgrounds himself stepped in to try to help us get a refund they ignored each and every message I finally got a hold of somebody in the office today for the first time and tried to get this problem solved and I was hung up on. They still have not refunded my aunt's over $250

And when i lost my brothers memorial necklace they offered to check the vehicle for me as well and told me to feel free to come check myself. Luckily i found the necklace wirh his ashes. But for a repossession crew dude was legit nice so i have nothing terrible to say about the company or workers. There only doing a job that pays the bills as well. But if ya need a car repossessed then for sure call them up cause within 24 hrs it will be found!

Monthly rates include all the above except electricity which is billed separately. Located in the countryside on 20 green acres near Forest City, NC in Rutheforton County. Close to shopping and restaurants. Nearby attractions of Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Thermal Belt Trail, and Isothermal Nature Trails. Forest City has a charming downtown with shops and restaurants and a nice farmers market. We have thoroughly enjoyed our extended stay here and really find it hard to leave these peaceful and beautiful surroundings.

Upon arrival, the owners offered to help back in my camper as it was my second time doing so. They offered to help me set up anything I needed help with. They were always friendly, and answered any of my questions without hesitation. This RV park definitely has a homey feel to it. I enjoyed the people around me as well, as all were very nice. They are also very pet friendly, as they LOVED my dog and cat. They were spoiled with love there. One time they brought someone to play live music, and grilled food for everyone at the campsite. Their laundry facilities and bathrooms are always super clean, and all is very spacious. When I was leaving, they also helped me to make sure I was hooked up properly. I am glad I came here for my first RV living experience, and now every other RV park I stay in will have to live up to these expectations. They also had amazing cell and wifi service which was a big plus, being away from home.

Bathroom is clean. The sites are large enough to spread out a little and pop-up a canopy tent and unpack a few chairs. Local gas station and convenience store is only about a mile a away. Larger food store is about 7 miles. Lake Lure is only 10 minutes away. Several state parks, equine center, restaurants, and vinyards/breweries are an easy drive too. Overall, we had a great time and as always we met some nice people at the site too.
