Once I parked, I was not disturbed by anyone or anything. From the lot where I was parked, there was no access to the park's wifi but I had four bars of LTE on Sprint. The park's water was cold and clean. As clean as the stuff I get out of the tap at my own home. As I mentioned, lot 47 was quiet. It was also level and had a water tap, power hookup and sewer access. I hooked up when I arrived and had no issues at all. One note is that the Harris Speedway is about a mile and a half away. There was some engine noises one evening but it ended by 9ish. The cafe and ice cream were fantastic, and the food overall was a major highlight. However, our arrival and first night were pretty rough. For a $1,000 cabin rental, we expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and preparation. We were shocked to find large roaches on the top bunks and a cabin full of bugs. To make matters worse, despite having a family of four, only one set of sheets was provided, leaving us with nowhere to sleep the first night so our first day here was not a good start since we didn't sleep well, such a bummer. We reported it right away, but had to go back a second time before getting help. There were also a few safety and sanitation issues that raised concerns. The Wibit pads were completely covered in geese poop, and at the waterfront, there were no small life jackets available--leaving a ton of kids wearing oversized jackets with zero staff monitoring the area. My son got a bad cold with ear and sinus infection from the filthy water and swimming in feces. We also received zero info at check-in about the weak Wi-Fi or resort basics. We are making the best of our trip and still plan to enjoy the remaining activities, but management definitely needs to step up cleanliness, safety oversight, and communication. Also the staff came up to me and asked our golf cart number while we were relaxing. That was a bit awkward to me but understand they want to keep tabs on them.

That being said, it still has a small, well-kept parking area where you can park if you are looking to hike up to Mt Mitchell. My partner and I did this recently one Saturday. We got to the parking lot by 6am and were the only ones there. By the time we returned, a little after noon, it was jam packed. Perfect spot if you can get in early enough!

Big rig friendly and staff is very friendly, grounds are kept quite clean. Very easy to maneuver our 43ft Class A Coach. Checked in, they gave me the "Rules & Regs" information, car tag and things of interest in the Gaffney area. We stayed for a week in Premium site #316, overlooking the pond. Simply beautiful!! They have a couple of ducks & geese around but they were not pests. Owners have a routine schedule of feeding them. Fun to watch. There is a section for "longer term stays".... but they were quiet and those we met, as we took walks, were friendly. They have a pool, mini-golf and there are walking trails around the 3 ponds. Careful... use exit #90, the exit GPS says us sometimes closed. Advise that you call the Campground to get construction updates.

Amazing views!!!…read more Came here on a group hike and it did not disappoint! We did the 4 something mile loop from the upper parking lot to the waterfall and back to the parking lot. It is hard! The amount of incline is enough but going up the stairs after resting at the waterfall was dreadful. We survived! The views are OMG!!!!! Wow! Breathtaking at each lookout. The stone is so smooth it almost looks painted. It rained a little at one of our lookout stops and it was such a refreshing experience. Cellphone reception here is super limited and so I want to come back in hopes I'll be able to actually track my hike .

Winter was in incredible time to visit, easy parking, a chance to chat with the staff at the visitor center, and walk around. The lake is beautiful. I've heard that this area did get some hurricane/ storm damage but everything needed to drive around is up and running! Make a plan to visit next time you're nearby. It's about 1 hour drive from downtown Asheville.

This park had an impressive visitor center and restrooms were open even after it closed, though neighboring water fountains were not functioning on a hot summer day. The trail I selected was rugged and had occasional waterside views, most notably on a footbridge that offered a mountain vista. Cell service was not great for me, and while I'd hoped to do a zoom meeting on the run I had to return to more urban areas. But if you actually want to get unplugged, the people on boats here appeared to be having a good time.

Weekday rates for the RV sites and tent sites start at 49.00 and 31.00 respectively. Weekend rates for these are also a bit more expensive. Many amenities here including a pool, camp store, and restrooms. If I understood correctly, with notice; hot tubs are available for rent. She got on lake houser ATV parks website and accidentally clicked a link for a nearby campground Broad River campground and booked it there by accident. When she gave me my surprise and I realized the mistake I immediately contacted Broad River campgrounds to try to get a refund nobody answered the phone there were dozens and dozens of messages left by family members and even the owner of lake Hauser campgrounds himself stepped in to try to help us get a refund they ignored each and every message I finally got a hold of somebody in the office today for the first time and tried to get this problem solved and I was hung up on. They still have not refunded my aunt's over $250
