Beautiful lake, nice boat ramp and a small beach area. Bath houses are old need to be upgraded but had good hot water. Most of the camping sites are permanent sites. Only ten sites that rent. Any site you that you may rent are all great. Graveled full hook ups and picnic table. A nice tree at every site so you do have some shade. Not far to bathhouses. Will be going back there for a weekend.

We've stayed here about six times since and did a month long stay awaiting the birth of our grandson in May 2025.

After she applied my Passport America discount, my stay was $20 or so. I was pointed to a nearby back-in spot and as this is my very first overnight with the RV, I might have missed a few things. The space was level - no need to break out the leveling cubes. The power post was immediately near and I did not need an extension cord. I did not look for the water or sewer hookups. There was a firepit and a cute swing, neither of which I used tonight. They sell firewood in the office and a bunch of other stuff. There is also a fenced in dog park. They have a wifi, but it didn't reach to my parking spot. The restrooms were clean and there's a picnic area near the pool. We spent 2 nights here and loved our site, the deck over the rushing stream was a perfect place to sip coffee in the mornings and whiskey in the evenings. The dog park gave our pup the chance to run free, the clean bathhouses gave us a place to freshen up and the location gave us the ability to explore all Asheville had to offer, climb to the top of Mount Mitchell (the highest point East of the Mississippi) and just enjoy the surroundings. Our site had a full hook up, electric and water (even with temps in the low 20's at night), we had a fire ring (or square), a picnic table perched on the deck, cantilevered over the stream, and lovely (back-in) site with privacy and shade. We can't wait to come back.

It was tree-lined, and fairly scenic. Loop 2 looks like a recent add-on and is basically just a gravel parking lot; not very scenic and right next to the main road. Wi-fi was there but not great, but we were told they were in the process of upgrading. It's also a little further away from Columbia than I wished it was, but that's on me for not looking at the map better. But it's easily 25 minutes from Columbia proper. If you're in the area and looking for a basic place to park that has full hook-ups, this will do just fine. But I wouldn't expect much more.
