My husband and I stopped into Stevenson's bar this afternoon to check out their Christmas theme. All I can say is, wow! not only did the place look great but, the service was awesome and the food was really good. Karen, the women working the bar was an absolute sweetheart. Ok, I knew something was going on with the last couple of visits. There are new owners. When you have a good thing, you leave it alone. I recently ate there and had my normal Lil Fella. My friend and I are both convinced that they changed the burger patty. In addition to that, it was way over seasoned and salty. The tots were ok. The visit before that was a fish sandwich special and fries for $8.95. I asked for fries well done, as they have been limp and underdone recently. Instead, the two pieces of fish, and I use the word fish loosely, were crispified and the fries were underdone. It was basically breading and bun. No longer will this be a go to for me. They are remodeling, but there was no need to remodel the menu!! I will be frequenting Skinny's more often now. read more

Ever since Paninis on 222nd Street shut down I was irritated because that was my to go to. So I decided to start searching for a temporary or permanent to go to. I found Stevenson's Bar & Grill while searching through Maps on my mobile device and decided to give them a chance. I ordered the Big Guy burger and I wasn't disappointed. The burger was so delicious that I fished it in less than 5 minutes. For my side/appetizer I ordered some jalapeño poppers. I don't trust most restaurants making jalapeño poppers because they're usually under cooked but this place cooked them just right. I was a little disappointed with the alcohol choices but who cares when there's good food. I would also like to recognize the cook(s) and server as they had an important role too and they did amazing. For my first visit I'd say overall I have enjoyed my visit. Well done!! read more

Just a great, all-American burger experience! Easy to see the signs from the road. Plenty of parking. It is a quintessential 1920's bar. The inside was extremely clean. Waitstaff was very kind, attentive and personable. It is a bar menu. There are items that you don't see too often, like clam strips, fried mushrooms and fried baloney sandwiches. It's nostalgic. I ordered the Big Guy. Holy Toledo it was a whopper of a burger! The double-stacked burgers were perfectly cooked with lacey, crisp edges. It was dressed with shredded iceberg lettuce, homemade dill pickles and their special sauce(a homemade mayo- pickle concoction). It was a 9 napkin heavenly experience! The fresh cut fries are not to be missed. They are legit and served with malt vinegar bottle next to it. Sooooo goooood Most reviews for this place are several years old. I wanted to reassure people who are on the fence, to give Stevensons a try. Hands down, one of the best burger joints in Cleveland and shouldn't be missed. read more

A simple, plain bar with terrific burgers and fries...no frills! Make sure to bring cash as they do not accept plastic. Other than that small issue, you will not go wrong with any style / flavor of burger you choose...and for the price, why not add a patty or maybe have two! These burgers are just about perfect with a great bun, veggie fixings, and you can add bacon for a buck. Done. We got two types of burgers and split them (a bacon cheeseburger and their version of a big mac). Both were extremely tasty but not really greasy at all. Fries were a bit on the limp side, but were fresh cut so I didn't hold it against them. They even have an old-fashioned bowling machine (and leagues for it, i think). Yesterday I stopped in the old Steven's Bar and GRILL..HORRIBLE!! I ordered a Works Burgers. The burger was OK.. The french fries were hard as hell, way over cooked. No ketchup, napkins, Poor attitude, no pride in anything. I tipped the bartender $3, she smiled at me Nicely. The food was 11.00 and while I waited 10mins threw 10.00 bucks into the lottery machine.. The burger was big, beefy, cheesy, and the best tasting Frisch's Big Boy that I've ever tasted. The tartar sauce really made the sandwich. A couple of friends and I stopped by Stevenson's after getting our beer passport stamps at Cleveland Brewing. I had their jalapeno poppers, Cheeseburger with "the Works" and fries. I also got to try their Big Guy burger which includes their "special sauce" aka their own thousand island? This place is very cheap, absolutely no-frills, but oddly enough they had mini-bowling in the corner which was very popular. My burger was good, fries decent but better once I added some malt vinegar to them. The Jalapeno poppers were very cheesy and was not what I expected. It was essentially fried cheese with cut-up jalapeno in the cheese...Not bad but not what I wanted. Looking back, I wish I had gotten the Big Guy because I love thousand island dressing. Came here motivated by a Thrillist article naming Stevenson's as the best burger in Cleveland. Needless to say, I had high expectations walking in here one rainy afternoon. The place is a classic dive bar. Cheap beer, a fireball shot dispenser apparatus behind the bar...I like. They even had one craft beer on tap (Columbus brewing) which was a surprising positive. I wasted little time and ordered the Lil Fella burger ($5) that was named best burger. My loins trembled at the thought of juicy beef patty juice running down my face and body. The burger arrives. Patty, onions, pickles - simple. I take a bite. Solid, but unspectacular. I take another bite. Oooo i discovered some of the special sauce. Overall good burger but did not meet my high expectations. 3.5-4 stars. This is a no frills restaurant/bar. The place itself is actually pretty small. When we got there the only seats were in front of the door. The service was ok, not great, but one girl was manning the whole bar and restaurant all by herself. So I'd say she was doing pretty well. The food. We all got burgers that were delicious and epically huge. Especially in regards to the price. Even my picky 9 year old demolished his burger! We shared a couple baskets of fries and Mozz. Sticks. 1st time stopping in for a meal. Nice clean atmosphere. Bartender greeted us as soon as we stepped inside. Dad and I sat at a table and soon got menus and asked what we wanted to drink. Their shrimp and fried clam strips are both great but the timing is often off. Takeout orders are rarely ready on time, which can be an issue if you're on your lunch break. Do not support this business!! I have worked for Stevenson's Bar & Grill supported them and never gave them a reason to be treated as poorly as they have treated me and every other bartender! I've been Ridiculed in front of customers and stressed out to the point of being physically sick. Over the course of my Employment there she has taken over $500 from me. You're constantly charged for things that are not in our control. We get no discount on food and no breaks to step outside. I've handed the money over to save face and keep my job but this time she is holding my check once again for something she has no proof of. I have now given two weeks to be provided with proof that I owe this money and still no response I have bills to pay and it may not be a lot of money but it's my money am I wrong? read more
