Stopped here on a hope that we can get in some riding but found something better. My son, who never drove an ATV before, was able to be placed on 110 cc quad and took off riding! They have a spot just for the kids where the adults are monitoring the area to make sure they all stay safe. One hour was under $100 and they provided all the gear. Staff will even give a quick 5 min tutorial of the machine and make them do a figure 8 to show that they can turn. My only complaint is how many times I needed to provide a copy of my driver's license. They make a photocopy and then take 2 more pictures while filling out the paperwork. We will be back for sure to ride the quads in the dunes later! Ask about their military discounts as well. read more

I was able to rent a kids ATV here for only $50 an hour. The kids ATV has to stay in the kids sand dune area. My daughter enjoyed it a lot, even though she kept getting stuck in the sand. All customers need to watch a 15 minute safety video, then they get tested on the ATV. Overall, service is great here! I highly recommend! read more

What a great find in Coos Bay! I already have my own ATV, so I wasn't in the market for a rental, but I stopped into Steve's ATV Rentals just to browse the store--and I'm really glad I did. They've got an excellent selection of parts, accessories, gear, and everything an ATV owner could want. Prices were fair and the staff was super helpful and knowledgeable without being pushy. The real stars of the show, though, were the shop cats--Wingnut and Spark Plug! These two are absolute legends. Wingnut is a hilarious goofball who kept me entertained, and Spark Plug is the sweetest little explorer, wandering around like he owns the place (which he probably does). They add such a fun, welcoming personality to the store. If you're in Coos Bay with your own rig or just need quality ATV supplies, Steve's is definitely worth a visit. If you're heading to the Southern Oregon Coast to get some camping in at any of the many fine camp grounds in Coos Bay or North Bend, you may just find yourself here at Steve's ATV Rentals. I like to make an annual pilgrimage to the Oregon Dunes. I always stop in at Steve's ATV Rentals while in Southern Oregon. Hit the Pro shop to see all the cool shirts and gear. 1st timer? You can go cheap with an ATV or Quad...but my preference for a first timer? Rent one of their "side by sides". 2 hrs is plenty of time for a first timer to get a feel for the dune buggy experience on the Oregon Dunes. Definitely wear googles to keep the wind and sand out of your face. You can go at your own speed. Follow the rules in the training video to keep yourself right side up. Everyone on the staff is super helpful & I definitely recommend this place as an annual stop! Do it! read more

In hindsight sight, i wouldn't have spent so much time on the beach; more time on the dunes is what you are renting the machines for. The Steve's ATV Rental workers were helpful. The 270 Kymco kept on getting stuck in the sand. Our 450 Honda ATV's did not get stuck. They are expansive in comparison to the Oregon Dunes. The beach and dunes view is only offered by them. There needs to be more signage for directions across the landscape for better reference. When we would get stuck we would call Steve's ATV and use relative directions based on memory. My wife and I rented a side-by-side from Steve's today. It was our first time in a UTV and first time on the dunes. We had a great time! About an hour into our rental, we got stuck. We sent our coordinates to Steve's by iPhone and in a short time Cal was there to tow us out and send us on our way. The prep was excellent and the service, when stuck, was there when we needed it. We have a lot to learn, but we really enjoyed the adventure and Cal was most helpful both in our "rescue" and in pointers on how to navigate the dunes. Highly recommended! read more

VERY UNWELCOMING. Upon arrival you will see Sunbuggy rentals (Orange building) and steves rentals on the right side. Literally Steves rentals had Trump flags eeeeeverywhere!!! On top of that everyone there kind of just looked at us weird rather than trying to help us out and discuss the options and rates. We went in to ask about rates and rides and they didnt want to talk to us, they just pointed at the screen with the rates. This was all of our first times, so we were expecting somebody more welcoming and interactive. Also, i dont care what political beliefs you got!
