I just wanted to update my original review. We had a stellar experience with Steve. He got going immediately, moved through our tasks quickly, and is a creative thinker. Yes, he may be more expensive than your typical handyman, but he brings much more experience to the table and is so quick. He cleaned and recaulked bathtub/shower enclosure, fixing some tiling along the way, in record time. He fixed and painted a sticking door, and also came up with a creative solution for a leaking master shower door too. He even fixed broken rivets on our garage door after it was backed into, and it's back to normal now. He also got up two stories and caulked some exposed dry rot temporarily so we can fix when the rains cease. Wow! What more can I say about Steve King except I wish Yelp had a 10 star category. Steve is that good. Many years ago I was once a handyman myself. I know how to do it all from how install indoor electrical and plumbing to roofing a house. I still do DIY projects around my home but I don't have the proper time required to dedicate to larger jobs like a building 40 foot fence. Could I do it myself. Yes. Is it worth a full weekend of my time and cost renting tools. No. My 40 foot fence was damaged in a wind storm. See photos. Steve and his crew rebuild my 40 foot fence in 2 days. Below are some highlights: 1) I found Steve on YELP. Prior to the work Steve answered all my questions by email and phone promptly and accurately. 2) Steve and his crew arrived on time both days prepared with all the materials and tools for the job - no downtime. 3) I asked Steve to pay attention to specific details and work around sensitive areas of my back yard - he was extremely careful and did no damage. 4) Steve thoughtfully cleaned up at the end of each day. The work site looked organized and orderly each day and night. Lastly, and most importantly, I could observe Steve working from my back office window. I was very impressed that the entire time I could see Steve using his tape measure for accuracy. He was always checking to make sure the work was correct and met his high standards (as well as mine). It's that level of professionalism that sets Steve apart from the other guys who cut corners to get the job done fast and sloppy. I already have plans to have Steve do more work for me. Took 8 days to respond to my voicemail. Then said his internet was down and he needed to locate my address on Google Earth and could not tell me if he serviced my location or not without that. I found it peculiar that they couldn't just go on data on their cell phone to use the internet. 4 days later I still did not hear back from Steve. I got sick of waiting and called Steve's handyman service once again for the second time. He didn't remember my work order didn't remember my name thought I was a different woman with my same name in a different city that he said lived in a trailer park!! I found that highly insulting and told him that was not who I was. During the phone call he kept saying that there was a Comcast man up a pole and kept yelling at someone at his house to go deal with them. He was far more concerned with the Comcast worker than me a potential customer trying to get his help with a work order. He was so incredibly rude self-centered and narcissistic that I lost entirely any interest I ever had in hiring him just from his extremely poor attitude alone. I couldn't believe how much further than that I would have had to try to get this man to even have any interest in my work order that I had for him. I have no idea how his quality of work is because I would never consider hiring someone that arrogant and self-centered. I told him if he did not respond by the next day that I would move on. The next day his internet mysteriously was working again, what coincidence hmm. He emailed me finally 16 days later and gave me an estimate for work that was nowhere near what I explained needed to be done at my house. I have a roof leak that has caused some pretty good sized sheetrock and wall damage and he said he would just touch it up and sand it down when it really needs to be opened up and have new insulation and sheetrock put in. I absolutely do not recommend Steve's handyman service to anybody!! read more

My backyard has never looked better, he painted the back of the house , replaced dry rot on the chimney, installed an additional outlet on the other side of the yard, added railings for the steps from both our sliding doors and last but not least, he removed an old and installed a new 11 ft. Sun Setter awning which was no easy feat. That was last year, this year he replaced 2 ceiling fans, added railings to the front steps and painted the front of the house, oh and fixed a rotted fence post and bolstered a section that was leaning from the additional privacy fencing we had added. This company sent a repair person to fix my chair. The repair was successful. But when I asked how much, the repair person said "Steve handles that." So I immediately sent an email asking how much. Didn't hear back for a MONTH! Finally got a response. Meanwhile other things had come up so I had to wait a little to take care of his bill. To my surprise, Steve himself showed up at my front door, in person, when I was not there, and told my wife that I hadnt paid the bill. That infuriated me. It was bad collection practice. Then Steve kept contacting me and demanding more and more. First he doubled the bill then he tripled it then it was four times as much!!! He threatened to send it to collections, after demanding four times as much. I was disgusted, decided to ignore him. His website talks about wanting to build relationships with customers. Prior to the sale of my home, an inspection found a leaky sink trap in a bathroom. It turned out that the tailpiece wasn't long enough and a part was missing to connect the tailpiece to the lower trap. I attempted to fix the problem but it still leaked.
