I bought a 2023 Jeep grand Cherokee and I dislike it to the most , it isn't comfortable to sit or…read moredrive . I wish I would've kept my wrangler and since my ex talked me into it, there's no trading it in or getting rid of it because of having multiple surgeries in the last year and not working I can't and we are no longer together so I'm stuck with it

Disappointing Experience with Service and Communication I…read moredon't normally write reviews, but my experience was so bad that I feel like I should warn others. I took my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee to Stew Hansen's in Urbandale after a diagnostic for air suspension issues. They charged a $230 diagnostic fee, I was told that the diagnostic fee would apply toward repairs, but I later learned this was not the case. They quoted around $3,000 for a compressor replacement. Wanting to save money, I opted for an aftermarket compressor + valve block set (my responsibility for choosing non-OEM parts). A third-party shop installed the compressor but couldn't handle the valve block, so I brought the vehicle to Stew Hansen's for that portion. I left a message and waited 1-2 days for a callback. They agreed to install the valve block. I dropped it off after being told it would take an afternoon to install. Communication quickly became a major issue, multiple calls went to voicemail with delayed or no responses over several days. They eventually reported the aftermarket valve block wasn't communicating properly with the compressor. I asked for error codes, scanner details (to try and troubleshoot), and a quote for OEM parts, but follow-up was slow, a total of 3-4 days slow (After calling a total of 6 times including 1 to the service manager to have Jose give me a call back) After several days and more unreturned calls, they quoted an additional ~$800 for an OEM valve block. Frustrated by the poor communication, I decided to pick up the vehicle. I was charged $90 for the attempted valve block installation. Despite being told the vehicle would be ready, I waited over 1.5 hours for minimal notes on the invoice (1 sentence) -- and no error codes. They promised to text the codes later, but days passed without them. I had to take time off work again just to get the codes pulled in person because as it turns out their technician never printed/wrote them down. While I acknowledge my choice of aftermarket parts contributed to the complications (and they could have declined service upfront), the repeated lack of communication, unfulfilled promises on timelines and information, and overall service left me very disappointed. I expected better from a dealership, especially after the initial diagnostic fee. I strongly advise looking somewhere else if your vehicle needs servicing.

From today Monday April 21 2025 The van Still does not work. It died again last night in the middle of nowhere on me. It shows all the same lights as when we first got it. They have not helped me at all I still owe 5,100 on it as of today. I would never go here as the van was around 17,000. We have not been able to use it anytime we take it out it randomly died and does the lighting bult with all the other lights. (I do not want to hurt my credit, and they said they will give me a repo if I give it back Even though I can afford the van, but they sold me a van that I can't even drive without it dying on me. This has been a problem the whole time we have had this van from them.) This is what I Posted 9 months ago. It won't let me add pictures, but I do have them on my phone. I got a van from Carhop, since purchase I have had it in 6 different shops (of my choosing) along with 3 of their shops (I stopped going to their recommended shops). One of their shops gave it back to me with a flat tire, there was nothing wrong with the tire when it was dropped off. I have now been paying on this van for a year. I have 2 more years left to pay on it. Even after having it in the shops the better part of this year (there one shop it was there for MONTHS!) it will randomly die while I'm driving it. It is not safe to drive for my family as we have been stranded several times and paid for it to be brought to shops or our house and had to find rides back home. Call out of work, miss Dr appointments. I pride myself on my work ethic as I own my own business and am very dependable, so when I have had to reschedule do to the failure of this van it's been quite the hardship. I tried to work out with them to turn the van over to them and get another vehicle through them (taking previous made payments as a loss) but without a repossession on my record. (Trying to remain loyal as this is my 2nd vehicle with them) this was to no avail. I also tried to discuss taking the van back and just keeping the payments they received from me, and I would take it as a loss but wanted to not have a repossession (I have more than shown over the years that I have never missed a payment and was a valuable customer. I am stuck paying for a van I can't safely drive, even within town. Like most people one needs a reliable vehicle! I Would never go there again. I was forced during this time to get a second vehicle to be able to transport my family around. I am sad to say I will no longer ever go back to Car hop. They lost a customer that has been loyal to them. I have been paying $440 a month for a van you can't even drive, imagine what I would now be willing to pay for a working vehicle! Below are the lights that all pop up when it dies while driving. You have to let it set for 5-6 hours before it will start again) when it starts again there are no lights on at all. I'm very upset about this. (There weren't any lights on when I purchased it) (also having to get a 2 vehicle isn't ideal as its another car payment) I did see they commented and said to Email them I will be doing that and let you know if anything does change. So far to this date July 1 2024 The van is still not working, and we have taken it to other shops.
