Definitely, do not recommend this dealership at all. Their tagline seems to be you purchased a used car bottom line. I believe I knew I purchased a used car. However, I've purchased used cars from other dealerships who we're more than willing to work with me to make sure that I was completely satisfied with my purchase. Absolutely awful service. I went in with hopes that their knowledge of the car I have and specific to Buick/GMC would make sure that the most basic issues could be fixed. However, I was wrong apparently. It started when they claimed they could pick up my car for service for convenience. I began to wonder when the day before, I had tried to reach out asking when I could expect someone and had not received a response. I didn't hear anything until right before the appointment informing me that they weren't able to pick my car up and left scrambling to figure out how to get my car out there at the last minute. When a common issue was found involving a leak, an agreement was made for the repairs to be completed. It turned out after waiting all day that this part had been "discontinued/unavailable" but, after some research, is available at any other part store. However, instead of trying to find a fix and repair this leak that they themselves deemed as a "common issue," they essentially shoved me out of the door without finding any other way to repair it. When I had further questions and trying to figure out what else could be done, I was left ignored. I had also requested for them to look into another issue I had noticed and once they realized they weren't able to make the aforementioned repair, they claimed I denied requesting the diagnostic check which will lead to further damages in my car the longer it goes unfixed that my minor child is also driving. In addition to all of the inconveniences that I was not expecting from a place that I had high hopes for, when I had asked if they could at least bring my car back to me as it was originally scheduled, they claimed they were unable to and I would have to figure out a way to come pick it up. When we were finally able to get it picked up, it reeked and smelled terrible (which it did not when we brought it in). I will never go back and any time I hear someone talk about going to this place, I will strongly discourage them from going especially if they're considering getting their car serviced there. read more

Stew Hansen GMC is the worst service department. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and tire rotation. When I got there I noticed something weird with my sunroof; which I had open because it was a nice day. Jack asked if I would like them to look at it. I stated that yes, because your the only place I can get the parts. I went into the waiting room. I waited nearly 2 hours for them to get my car completed. Before they were finished of course they had to try and sell me on over $2100 in maintenance. I went and paid for the service and went out to my car. I looked up at my sunroof and someone had tried to close it and made it worse. I immediately went back into the service bay and complained. I spoke with the General Manager and he asked that I bring it back the next day. I did and of course nothing was communicated. I emailed them my extended warranty. In the email I expected them to take some responsibility. I got a return email that they wanted to charge me $225 to diagnose the issue. I emailed back that I wasn't going to pay that and that I wanted them to get my sunroof closed and I would be taking it somewhere else. 2 hours later I got an email that said the estimate would be over $2300 dollars. It wasn't an accurate estimate since I was unwilling to pay the $225. I tried to talk to the service manager. I got hung up on. I kept calling until I finally got someone that would actually listen. The service manager basically blamed me for everything. Instead of trying to solve the problem he told me that the technician was securing the car and the sunroof was already broken. What he left out was that the problem was made worse by trying to close the sunroof without figuring out what needed to be done. Now I am still waiting for them to pick me up an hour later. THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, COMMUNICATION AND THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHERE THEY ARE WRONG. read more

Friday, May 31, 2024 After my vehicle had stalled, I was relieved when my husband was able to get in contact with a service department willing to service it so quickly; he was even nice enough to tell them it was most likely the alternator.... They disagreed. Now, after $512, my vehicle is once again sitting in a service center parking lot awaiting repair. When I inquired about having my vehicle repaired, the service technician stated it will be $200 just for them to run a diagnostic test to see whats wrong, and they will then contact me once they know the issue for further instruction. Wednesday, June 5, 2024 Steve text me, "Good morning, we started diagnosis yesterday afternoon. We found a bad cell in the battery. We also check ed the alternator and it test out great. At this time we are recommending a battery replacement. With diagnosis, to install a new battery the cost will be $477.57 plus tax. Please advised how we should proceed. Thank you, Steve," at 8:26am and again at 10:26am the same day - "my car was good to go and ready to be picked up. I live nearly 3 hours away from this shop, my husband was out of town for work, so I had to wait until that weekend to pick it up (which they were made aware of and no fuss). Saturday, June 8, 2024 Vehicle picked up. Monday, June 10, 2024 I head to work in the afternoon and 1 mile from my house, the dash message "Service Battery Charging System" and battery light come on. I stop, take a picture of the dash and send to my husband and the service technician I was in contact with. A few hours later, I get a reply from Steve asking when I could bring the vehicle back in (that means driving an unreliable vehicle 3 hours each way to get it looked at again)! I explain that as my husband is out of town, I wouldn't be able to bring it in u til the weekend....service tech transition. Tuesday, June 11, 2024 Mic Bowers, Stew Hansen Buick GMC Service Manager texts me, "Hi Ashley, this is Mic Bowers, Service Manager at Stew Hansen Buick GMC. Thank You for allowing us to service your vehicle. How was your service experience? We strive for complete satisfaction, and you may be receiving an email survey from GM. It would mean a lot to me if you would complete this survey. Reply STOP to OptOut," to which I reply with, "Hi Mic - I wish I could say better, but my car is once again presenting the exact same issue after having spent over $500." Mic then proceeds to tell me that its just the battery and I must have a draw causing it to fail. When told the light and dash message appeared, he stated, "ok, looking at the history this is the story "VEHICLE STALLED AND WILL NOT RESTART. VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY DEAD ON THE LOT WHEN TOWED IN. KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE FOB AND OTHER KEYS ARE TAGGED AND IN THE BOX." I dont see where there being a light on." The light and dash message were on per my husband and mother because that was the first sign my car showed before it completely died. Again, I send the dash picture, this time to Mic, and he assures me, "Looks like there is definitely something causing a battery failure." Wednesday, June 12, 2024 Local mechanic plugs Ole Ruby into a multimeter, and weirdly enough, he says it's definitely the alternator and it needs to be replaced. I text the number Mic and Steve text me from and inform them of the local mechanics findings...crickets. Later on that night, I text the same number asking for a detailed invoice...crickets. So, here I sit on Thursday, June 13, 2024 without a car, $512 poorer, and still waiting ona reply from Mic or Steve about the detailed invoice. Thankfully, Lindsey emailed me an invoice the moment I asked for one after calling. Morale of the story - the nearly $300 charge for a diagnostic test is bullshit, especially when your "trained and certified" staff can't be bothered to read it correctly and avoid the issue that the owner told you it was. A good multimeter can be bought for under $200 and I am sure it'll pay itself off in gold when you or your family/friends have a mechanical issues. I, of course, mosied around a bit on my way out of the shop to see what they had on the lot... thinking, hmm... may be a good time to upgrade. Now, I can confidently say, without a doubt, Stew Hansen will not be on my list for anything -looking, nope; buying, nope; service, hell no. Don't waste your time as I did with this dealership. I talked to Tim (salesman) and Tom (Sales Manager). They were helpful at first and seemed genuine. I am an out-of-state buyer (military) and had a deal worked out on a Yukon XL. I followed their instructions to make the purchase (credit application, sent my DL, insurance, etc). I put in my travel paperwork to get there this Wednesday. Basically, everything they asked for, I did it. I get a text, not a phone call from the sales manager via the salesman's cell phone (weird) that the vehicle is sold. Bottom line, the dealership shouldn't have had me do all these things and then sell it from underneath me like that. I now have a hard inquiry in my credit and wasted a lot of time to get this trip in place. I'll give them a chance to make this right. They have my cell number. My Daughter was looking for a car due to Hail damage on hers, and found one she really liked at Stew Hansen used cars. She spoke to Thomas (sales person) and test drove the car, she was really interested in it and told him she would like to comeback the next day with her parents to work out a deal. My Wife and I took time off work the next day and drove the two hours over to help her with the purchase, She was fully qualified and had a large down payment for the car. When we got there the car was sitting out so we thought they had prepped it for sale. After we got in a group of salesman including Thomas came to us and said unfortunately the young lady sitting over there already purchased the car, they are just waiting on her financing. I was of course not to happy about this and expressed that to them, along with telling them we had just driven 2 hours to come buy this car. Thomas said if we had put down some money as retainer he could have held it, my daughter and her BF said he never mentioned that the day before. They said if we wanted to wait about 15 or 20 mins to see if her financing went through we could. In the mean time they tried to sell us several other cars. This is just very poor business practices and was just wrong. If you knew someone was coming in for the car, you should at the very least tell the lady who ended up buying it that there was already someone coming in and she could wait to see if our deal would fall through so she could buy it. I will never shop at any of Stew Hansens dealerships and never recommend them to anyone. I see another review on here that had the same thing happen to a military guy trying to buy a car from them.
