04/16/2015 "Stewart Surfboards" So, yesterday (April 15, 2015), after "rendering under Caesar, what is Caesar's (doing my taxes), I stopped by San Clemente to "Harass The Staff at Stewarts Surf Shop," Once again, I was reminded why this surf shop remains "My No. 1 South Orange County, California Recommendation" for The Women. A few years back a special section inside, was constructed for The Women, called "The Oasis." It continues to be one of the few places which has some of the best attire for Women (surfers . Non-Surfers) with "Discriminating Taste." However, I was also reminded why I always "Show-Some-Love" to Bill and His Staff, when I am in the area. The Staff are ALWAYS Polite and Professional. I observed one staff member (Brooke Cole), who "went-beyond-the-call-of-duty," as She displayed "The Patience of Job." Some guy ( approximately 60 years old), came into the shop, acting as if he was interested in making a purchase. Instead, all he came in for was to use the restroom, and to get directions to some other surf shop, which sold stand up paddle boards. The guy claimed to be A US Army Veteran who had just returned from a Veterans Administration Hospital. Before FINALLY leaving, he spent more than ten minutes in the shop not only asking about some other surf shop, but also asking questions about stand up paddle boards which are not carried by Stewart Surfboards. Throughout the ordeal, Brooke remained Polite and Professional. I don't how She did it. I would have "86'd" that guy after two minutes. "Small-World" too. - I discovered that Brooke and I know many of the same people (including Izzi and Giorgio Gomez, as well as several San Clemente High School surfers). To see this Young Lady providing such Professional and Polite Service to someone who definitely did not deserve it, not only reminded me why I support Stewart Surfboards, but it also gave me hope for The Future of this country. Stewart Surfboards shapes the best longboards around the world!! Their customer service in the shop and over the phone is phenomenal. Bill Stewart is one of the most knowledgable and legendary people in the surfing industry. I have ridden many longboards, but my Stewarts are like no other. I currently have a couple of Tipsters and the RPM model that perform on the nose and the tail. They shape everything from single fins to progressive longboards to funshapes, to shortboards that also have some sick airbrushes, made right there in the shop. They also have a good selection of used boards upstairs. If you are in San Clemente, even if you have no surfing ability, you need to stop by the shop just to check out the amazing full scale mural on the front of the shop that Bill painted himself. Their shop also has accessories such as sunscreen, clothing for women and men, hats, wetsuits, fins, and much more! If you are in the area, I would definitely recommend stopping in or ordering your next board from Stewart Surfboards. read more

We were planning on spending the day running around to different surf shops looking for a long board for my daughter. We started at Stewart with it being the furthest away and figured we would hit up different shops on the way home. When we walked in we were greeted by Trey who was extremely friendly and helpful. He was very knowledgeable and gave us so much advice. In our time there we met multiple employees and everyone of them was super nice and willing to share their expertise. There was absolutely no reason to go to any other shops as I was more than happy to buy from and support a business with such amazing customer service, knowledge, and a friendly atmosphere. I've been surfing on Stewart surfboards on and off for the past forty plus years. Late last summer I purchased one of Bill's new Hydro Cush 10' Redlines. After a little fine tuning of the fins, it soon became one of my favorite boards of all time - and it's a soft top. I was so enamored by the new Hydro Cush technology, I bought a new 10' Hydro Cush Clydesdale. I did a little fine tuning of the fins on this one too, and now this has become my favorite board for the really small days. I have maybe a dozen other boards in my garage ranging from an 8'2" quad to a 10'6" single fin. I haven't used any of them in the last six weeks or so, and have been taking my Hydro Cushes instead. Great boards. You just may have to consider trying different fin configurations to find your own sweet spot. Hard to beat the price on the Hydro Cushes too. Bob Kiefer read more

Simply the best. Not only are the boards top quality for any break but the attention to detail for their custom work is unparalleled. I came in with a concept last year and their entire staff was amazing in how helpful they were. Despite being busy, Trey was always accessible and personable. Tom is a zero BS type that was very talented in aiding with the graphics. The 949 Comp model floats like a butterfly and with how responsive it is. It makes an okay surfer look like a freaking artist on top of water. Well worth it. I have a surfboard from 1984 that is still being surfed on a regular basis and has surpassed all expectations with how gracefully it has stood the test of time. After 20 years of being out of the water, and relocating back to Socal from Seattle, I needed a board. I shopped local shops for a month and came back to Stewart. I was greeted by an employee named Jacob who was super helpful, took the time to listen to my needs and guided me in the right direction. He helped me get all the right accessories and rather than making the sale a dull transaction, he made it an exciting experience, which is what it's all about. After selecting the right 9'6 Clydesdale, Jacob asked his peers for input and I felt confident in my purchase. I was in need of a good board, and consulted my friend Jack H. He's owned a few Stewart's, and he sent me their direction. They have an easy to navigate website, so I had a baseline of information when I phoned their "Board Room". Their crew was very polite and directed me to the board that I was in search of. I made the purchase online, a Funline11, and with their advise selected the correct board bag and leash. It arrived at my house in a few days, well packaged and in perfect condition. Every part of this went well, all the way down to the shipper calling to be sure that it had arrived in excellent condition. Already looking forward to adding a CMP to my quiver. Stewart Surfboards are no doubt well crafted, reliable boards for all levels of surfing but what really impresses me is how this generational family business is run. From those who answered the phones to the sales staff and, especially, the management pull out all the stops to ensure their customers are being best served. Just had a 10' custom redline made at Stewart Surfboards and it turned out amazing.. Jeff the epic sales guy dialed the board in for me and made the purchase & design process a really fun experience!! I had originally asked for white fin boxes but due to a snafu I got black ones. When I looked at the finished board I was glad they put in the black. It worked better with the anti-shark pattern their very talented artist painted on the bottom of the board!! I bought my first Stewart fun gun in 1999. I was young and excited to advance my surfing abilities...A whole lot of time has passed since that first board, including a 5 year break from surfing. Last week, I decided enough was enough. I went back to Stewart and picked up one of their 949 boards. I was pretty sure the first session was going to be bad, however the board is amazing. I was able to paddle into everything and had a great time. It is so great to have a board with such rich history. Definitely one of the best shaped boards. This is the by far the best surfboard manufacturer in southern California, i've been ordering Bill's shapes since 82' and they're nothing short of magic. The shop employees are very welcoming and happy to help answer any questions you might have, Sean and Thomas in particular have helped me on multiple occasions with custom orders that work amazing. One of the best experiences I've ever had in buying a board, and drove 3 hours to shop because of the reputation. I was not disappointed-Incredible staff, easy to work with and the price to value can't be beat!. I've now ordered (2) custom boards while working with Thomas. Super easy process, great input from Thomas on a couple of questions I wasn't sure about. The first board is an RPM 9'2" that was done in less than the advertised 6 weeks. Before opening at 9am I drove around back 8:20 and went into the open door of the shaping room. I needed a rivet for my fin. I was desperately wanting to go surfing. There a guy met me and found a rivet for me for free! 15 minutes later I was surfing the point at San O. I had already been to several other Surf shops but none opened until 9.
