Made appointment at oral surgeons office for my brother to take her. Filled out a lengthy health form So he wouldn't have to complete any of the information on her. He gets her there on time and they proceeded to make her wait over a half hour to see the specialist. They make him fill out all the paperwork over again because the company that theyused to collect my info lost it. They look at her mouth for half a second to tell her that the tooth needs to come out. And since her on her way after billing her another $150. It's nice to know that they make a 90-year-old woman slept through the freezing cold winter to tell her the most obvious thing ever. Can't believe I have to go back to this place to still have this tooth removed. They don't have any late nights either so if you can't take a day off from work, you can't go there.

After spending much time on the phone with my insurance company to find the Dentist i needed in my area or close. Dr Brar was the closest , (but not that close). My insurance company assured me I was fully covered for the whole procedure. When i showed up for my appointment they tried to tell me i was only covered for the extraction but not the bone graft or the implant, they wanted me to pay for them out of pocket which is costly. I advised them my insurance company set me up with them and said i am fully covered for all of it. I was uncomfortable with the look Dr Brar gave his assistant, they went ahead to start the extraction. I had a cracked molar that had to be pulled, sadly i suffer bone. loss so my teeth are not that stable already. I had two wisdom teeth that were tight in my gums that came out without a problem, didn't even realize it was pulled. Not this time, he had great difficulty pulling it out, literally felt like he was using a jack hammer breaking up my tooth, when it finally was over he did not put the bone graft in while my gum was open like the other dentist did with my wisdom tooth, instead he said he had to get approval should take about 5 days, 2 weeks go by they said they still didn't receive it. Now i have to spend more time calling my insurance company to see what the hold up is, turned out they did approve it. So i call back to let them know and his secretary tells me well, we're accepting your insurance for the extraction but not the bone graft or implant. Now i have to find another peridontist to finish the job. So shame on him, feel bad for any patient who actually believed them and paid out of pocket . I reported him, hopefully he gets dropped from our plan.. be aware of what your benefits cover, sorry Dr Brar that you couldn't scam this girl for more mone

When I came for my second appointment to get the fillings, I was told that I actually might need a root canal and that my insurance wasn't going to cover it. I was urged by the receptionist to make the decision right then and there, and when I told her I wasn't going to be making the decision that day and that I needed a second opinion, she became extremely rude and told me the decision needed to be made quickly. I decided I would get the two fillings that same day and get a second opinion on the possible root canal. When Dr. Michaels injected the novocaine, he accidentally injected it into an artery. While waiting for it to kick in, I became extremely shaky and dizzy and felt as though I couldn't breathe. They tried to tell me I was just nervous for the procedure, but when I explained that I've never been nervous about a dental procedure before, they became defensive and even more rude and nasty. I left without getting the fillings and decided to go to a very reputable dentist for his opinion. I ended up only needing one filling and no root canals. She continuously updated me throughout every appointment, and consulted with me for every procedure to confirm I wanted the work done. She even told me truthfully when something was not in her exact skillset. I've never found a more trustworthy dentist. She did such a good job that a boss once inspected my teeth and said he saw no work done. He didn't even realize was looking at temporary caps! You absolutely can't underestimate the importance of finding an extraordinary dentist. Dr. Shapiro and her staff are dependable, trustworthy and exceptionally talented. Well worth every trip. Over a month ago, I went in for a maintenance visit and a crown had broken. She explained that she would submit the claim to my insurance and, based on coverage, either repair it or refer me elsewhere. She also took X-rays and an impression for a bite guard. Since that appointment, I've called several times and have not received a single return call. (On one occasion I managed to speak with Ed her husband/office manager but still no callback) Its extremely disappointing to be ignored after so many years as a patient. If the problem was that my insurance didn't pay enough, that should have been discussed honestly--not avoided. What's worse is that X-rays and other services were billed to my insurance, yet there has been no communication, plan, or care provided. I expected better treatment and respect from a practice I trusted for so long. I'll be taking my care elsewhere.

My insurance requires no copayment as she is a in network provider with my insurance co. I told him I want a copy of the bill at that time I seen she billed and was paid for service that I did not receive. I contacted my ins co and filed a grievance against her. I have also read on google, Healthgrades and other sights of other patients with similar bogus experiences with her. I wish I would have read her ratings before going to her. If you have experienced her scam, please contact your insurance co, don't let her continue to get away with billing for service she hasn't rendered or over charging.
