My recent experience at this dental office was deeply disappointing, unprofessional, and, quite…read morefrankly, concerning. Midway through my procedure, while I was already in the chair and unable to object, I was suddenly told there would be an additional $400 charge because the dentist "found another post." This was particularly frustrating and suspicious because I had already paid $200 for a 3D scan -- a scan that, by its advanced nature, is supposed to show these exact details before the procedure begins. It felt like I was being upcharged for something that should have been detected and disclosed in advance. When I calmly pointed out that this felt like a scam and was ethically questionable, I was met with immediate hostility from the office manager, Linda. Instead of engaging in a professional dialogue, she became defensive, removed the $400 charge, and then had the audacity to tell me, "You should just be thanking us that we took it off," as though I owed them gratitude for not being overcharged for something I never agreed to in the first place. Later, when I attempted to call and speak to her respectfully, she cut me off and snapped, "Don't call me love," in an unnecessarily aggressive and disrespectful tone. Her overall behavior was unprofessional and dismissive -- especially considering I was trying to resolve a legitimate concern about transparency and billing. What stood out even more was her attitude when I said I would be writing a review about my experience. She brushed it off and essentially said, "Go right ahead," making it clear she had no interest in accountability or improving patient care. On top of all this, I had the same procedure done a year and a half ago at a different dental office and only paid $300 with insurance. The discrepancy in price, coupled with the surprise charges and aggressive attitude, raises serious red flags about this office's billing practices and ethical standards. To be completely honest, I couldn't help but feel that Linda was especially dismissive because I'm a Black patient who dared to speak up and question what was happening. I didn't come in yelling or disrespectful -- I came in informed and concerned, and I was treated with contempt for it. Patients deserve honest communication, ethical billing, and to be treated with respect -- regardless of their race or background. I will not be returning, and I hope others take note before trusting this office with their care.

At the end, he didn't actually check the bite (using a tap) after he put in the temporary filling, just eyeballed it. This was checked the next day and adjusted when I went to a different office because I was in a lot of pain. I wasn't given the brochure on the aftercare - again got it the next day from a different office. Wasn't even told not to eat or drink until the numbness was gone - was just told not to chew anything hard on that side of my mouth while he was finishing up as he seemed in a hurry to get done. Overall I would not recommend the Garden City office as didn't find anyone there particularly caring. And definitely wouldn't recommend Dr Ju. I was treated much better by the on call doctor from a different office when I called for help because I was in so much pain (was given an antibiotic) and by still another office when I went there the next day.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Ashish Sahasra with superb and conscientious technical precision that resulted in a successful root canal. The procedure was thorough and not rushed. Dr. Sahasra is clearly experienced and is very warm, reassuring and down to earth. He thoroughly, confidently and kindly took all the time necessary to explain my procedure. I could not have had a more professional experience. The entire office staff and the dental assistants are friendly, thorough and kindly assisted me with my referral. My appointment was right on time with no wait. This why so many dentists refer their patients to Premier Endodontics. They also have numerous convenient locations. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with this endodontics group if you need a root canal. Highly recommended.

Beware! I had two root canals for back molars done by Dr. Goziker, now less than two years later…read moreboth teeth need to be extracted and replaced by expensive implants due to recurring infection and pain! I'm in good health, excellent oral hygiene, see a dentist regularly, non smoker, so no special risk factors. Here's what went down: When I first called their office on a Monday morning due to severe pain in the molar Dr. G. previously treated, I was told that Dr. G was booked for the WHOLE WEEK, couldn't even spare 15 minutes for me, so I agreed to see his partner Dr. Bruckner. The office manager said the consult would be free because it was an evaluation of a root canal performed by their practice. After a quick exam and a few X-rays Dr. Bruckner claimed that he really needed a 3D scan to make sure of the tooth's prognosis. Then Dr. Bruckner left the room and his assistant came in and told me the scan would be $300! I was blindsided by this sneaky approach but was in pain and needed answers so agreed to get the scan. Then Dr. Bruckner showed me the scan and said the tooth was badly infected causing severe bone loss so it wasn't savable anymore, recommended I have it pulled and replaced with an implant elsewhere. Then Dr. Bruckner claimed the scan showed I need a root canal on a different asymptomatic tooth on the other side of my mouth, trolling for more business at a very bad time! I understand that not every treatment is successful, but charging me $300 to ensure that their own prior expensive procedure had FAILED (i.e., recurring pain and infection in the treated teeth less than 2 years later) seems unethical and mercenary. Especially when I had been told that the consult would be free! In response to Dr. Bruckner's response that "any medical office would charge me $300 for a CAT scan" that's simply untrue. The going rate for new patients on LI is $150 and the oral surgeon I saw afterward didn't charge me anything for the scan or consult. Their follow-up claims that both of my treated teeth miraculously cracked on their own (with no connection to their failed root canals) are laughable and factually untrue, also in violation of HIPAA laws to disclose this online. Not once did anyone from their office try to call or email me directly to resolve the situation directly. Horrendously painful and expensive lesson learned; NY Endodontic Associates may seem good and kind when you come in and they want your money, but don't count on getting long term results from their root canals. And if you have a problem afterward expect to be charged more and then kicked to the curb.

He took care of my teeth, doing 2 root canals in 1 visit. Aside from the anesthesia injections I felt no pain. Even when the anesthesia wore off I felt ok! Of course there was some swelling and soreness (to be expected) buy nothing like what root canals are hyped up to be. Dr Goziker is knowledgable and experienced. He even took care to make sure my crown wasn't damaged when he drilled behind the tooth. The procedure took less time than I'd anticipated and I was happy to be able to drive myself home. Ann, at the front desk is also very sweet and made me feel welcome when I anxiously entered the office. She gracefully answered my questions and helped arrange a payment plan that I could manage. She also called the next day to check on me and make sure I was feeling ok.

I was told I would be in good hands and they are particularly sensitive to patients with dental issues. This could not be further from the truth. Even disregarding the lack of modernity and shabby surroundings, I should have realized this when Dr. Gascoigne gave me the most excruciating novocaine injection I ever had in my life. I almost passed out from the pain. I have had root canals in the past and novocaine was the least of my worries. I felt as if she rushed through the procedure, and afterwards I still felt pain in the tooth and the surrounding area. I went back to the office several times explaining the pain I was having, and I was repeatedly told not to worry, it was normal. On those follow-up visits Dr. Gascoigne didn't even appear in the examination room. She sent her assistants back and forth to relay information. They did various procedures that had nothing to do with the pain that I was describing and was repeatedly told to trust them. It is now 12 weeks post-procedure and I am still in constant pain. In summary, this office is not sensitive to patients' anxieties, on the contrary, is even callous and mocking of concerns that you express or questions you may have and the doctor can't even be bothered to do a follow-up. Update: the same tooth Gascoigne worked and caused all the pain with had to be extracted anyway!
