As with most places in a tourist zone prices might be a little higher, but you wouldn't notice and we all enjoyed our desserts. The staff behind the counter was very nice and offered us extra napkins for the little ones in our party because they almost knew that we were going to need them I think it's a wonderful place to have ice cream after any of the meals that you might have in this fine little town

I had two eggs over easy, potatoes, sausage patties, marble rye toast, tomato juice and coffee. My wife had the French toast. which looked great. The people that work there are phenomenal. They really go out of their way to make you feel at home. If you're looking to have great food in a place that takes you back in time, this is the place to go. I ordered chicken tenders, fries, mac and cheese, and a hot dog. To start, the chicken tenders were excellent. They were light, airy, and crispy. Likewise, the fries were delicious. They were hand cut, crispy, and tasted homemade. On the other hand, the mac and cheese was mediocre. To explain, it was really cheesy, but it was so heavy that you couldn't eat very much without getting sick. Similarly, the hot dog was average. To enumerate, the hot dog itself had good flavor, but the meat sauce was ridiculously sweet. After that, I ordered a chocolate shake for dessert and it was great. To breakdown, the shake was thin, flavorful, and the ice cream tasted homemade. It was simply a good shake. So the last I heard this new ice cream shop was going to be taking over the old Lake George…read moreHardware Store location, but much to my surprise I discovered (thanks to a helpful sign in the window!) that Lake George Ice Cream has taken over some counter space across the street at Cafe Vero right on Canada St. We stopped in on a Wednesday evening in what was apparently an uncharacteristic lull in the line. There were only two people in front of us, and within a few minutes we were ordering. The serve Battenkill Valley Creamery ice cream here, which is pretty darn good stuff I must say. Apparently they also serve Cremewiches (don't call them Flying Saucers!) from Martha's Dandee Creme as well, which is a fantastic addition to any ice cream shop's menu. So we each tried a different flavor ice cream, and I got the PB sundae, which was absolutely amazing in spite of the owner apologizing profusely that he was out of whole peanuts and had to substitute peanut dust if that was okay with me. All of the products and ingredients there are top notch, and the server who I assume is also the owner does an amazing job engaging with each and every customer, carefully completes each order and keeps the line moving quickly. The nice thing about partnering with Cafe Vero means there is plenty of indoor seating available if you'd rather dine in, especially if you're eating after Vero closes. Remember how I mentioned an uncharacteristic lull? By the time the five of us got our orders, paid and made our way over to a booth, the line had extended out the door, which based on the quality and price of the product, I assume is a regular occurrence. It deserves to be. I've eaten at literally every ice cream joint up and down Canada Street and around to Million Dollar Beach, and this is the best stuff in town, hands down.

We go ALL the time and everyone has always been super nice. If you have kids or a dog then this is even better. I love the wooden play train and fenced in dog area. Also, they have Frosty Paws which are better (and cheaper) than a vanilla ice cream for your pup. In the summer they have lived jazz concerts and there's always plenty of seating. I would say that it's reasonably priced.
