We boated up from Bolton and stopped in for a takeaway lunch. The chicken salad on a wrap was delicious and small Italian sub was great too! I asked the guy to make me the sub with all of his choosing and it did not disappoint! It was very busy at the height of lunchtime so call your order in if you're in a rush, otherwise enjoy the charm of the market. The vibe is so chill and there are a couple of tables outside to relax and eat. We did have our large service dog with us but kept him outside based on someone's previous post. I totally respect a strict no dog policy especially when food is being served! My dog was happy to people watch and get petted outside with my hubby while I shopped. read more

We stopped into Hague market for the first time with our service dog. (20lbs Wire Haired Terrier. +150hrs of training), one of the calmest dogs on the planet. As the shop posts a "no pet" sign outside, my wife went in first out of courtesy and spoke to a member of staff. We entered and were more than surprised when the owner of the shop came flying at us. Shouting, finger wagging in my face that my (now sitting) dog wasn't wearing a vest and therefore wasn't a service dog. She was wearing her life jacket from the boat and her leash says "Service Dog" four times all the way up. He refused to listen that a vest does not make a service dog, screamed that if the dog causes trouble it will be our fault, stuck his face right on mine, then fled behind his counter. If you have a service dog, or even want good plain manners I'd suggest giving this place a miss. We did read more

This is a great place to stop for sandwiches. Priced a little high but very good. Breakfast sandwiches are also wonderful.

The Hague market is a quaint little supermarket with some essential items while you're camping or staying at the Hague. The highlight for me was sandwich deli at the back where you could order a wrap or a sandwich. read more

Great little market right by the lake. It's really convenient for picking up basic things if you're on vacation. They've got everything like charcoal, sunscreen, cereal, newspapers, food and drink. They make their own sandwiches there too. My favorites are the breakfast sandwiches, the italian sub and the chicken salad. They also make a great grilled cheese. Sometimes they also have steaks and fish that you can buy to grill. Perfect on a nice summer day if you don't feel like driving all the way to walmart or you simply want something better. The people running the store are really friendly. read more

Great place for breakfast and lunch. This isn't Walmart, so it doesn't have a plethora of options. But it does have basic necessities including beer, ice cream, coffee, and baking supplies to name a few. Otherwise it's a great place. Wouldn't let me return the over $10 up-charged beer I had purchased the night before, which is ridiculous considering they resell merchandise bought directly from the Walmart in Ticonderoga. The owner was extremely rude to me before I had even gotten to say a word, demanding to know the reason I was "bringing beer in, instead of out". They have no posted return policy, could not tell me it when I asked, nor do they give out receipts. I used to frequent this little store, but sadly, I definitely will not be returning. read more

This store is a gem on the northwest shore of lake george. There's probably no finer small grocer/deli/craft shop within 20 miles of it, and the variety and quality of local, organic, regional foods are superb. It is a joy to shop here every time and knowing I'm supporting a local business is icing on the cake. read more

Love this place and the fact that it's located so close to the lake. We spend our summers at Hague Motel and it's a quick walk up the street. They have most of the basics, delicious sandwiches, and delicious iced coffee. We love their breakfast sandwiches... so good. read more

This place is just what you need! If your a local or just visiting the area, you can provision up or just grab lunch. It always amazes me that they have what I need even though the place is not huge. Sandwiches are great and the staff is always happy to see you! My son loves their pasta salad. He starts talking about it, a week before we leave for the lake! We showed up last year and they had run out. Caroline made a fresh batch for him that she saved for him the next morning! This is a great small-town, Mom & Pop style convenience store and deli. They have everything you might need while you're vacationing in the area. I stop in here every time I'm in the area and they've always had what I was looking for. Great variety, friendly service, and a quaint, small-town atmosphere. read more

Just a very small and limited country store. Used to be the best subs in NYS though. Changed hands a few years ago and went to cheap bread and reduced the filing, not much better than subway anymore but there are few options in Hague. read more

If you are traveling through and need a quick lunch. Keep on driving. The deli part of the store has a list of items on a chalk board but you order on a clipboard menu which don't quite match. That would be ok, but the sandwiches are not good. $11 for a pastrami hoagie with not even 4 pieces of meat over 11 inches of bread. And I think they split one slice of Swiss cheese to cover the limited meat. We both tore off the excess bread and then put all the meat and cheese to one side to make almost bearable sandwiches. Agree with Chris H's review below--the ordering system is terrible. Too robotic for a "market" type of establishment and removes interaction between the customer and staff. The girl that rang up my breakfast sandwich was remarkably stuck up, even for this area. She showed very little enthusiasm and friendliness and I hurried to leave the store as quickly as possible. The coffee was awful as well. In addition, several small messages placed throughout the store really brought the place down. In the self serve ice bucket for iced coffee, a label read: "ice is for iced coffee/tea ONLY, extra cup of ice: 25 cents." How stingy can you be?! Sign on garbage can read: "Only solid waste, no liquids in trash." I felt as if there were rules and expectations for every aspect about this store! It was like pins and needles. This place just really needs to get their act together. read more

I was told new owners run the place since January. Admire the new gourmet format with a country flair. They had a few gourmet platters behind glass. Ordered three sandwiches for myself and family. listen, if you are going gourmet format your sandwiches should be awesome. they were not. in fact they were far from it. If I am spending 6.99 for a sandwich it better knock me over. bread seems old.....and bread makes the sandwich. read more
