What is there not to like about Ben & Jerry's? Because of COVID-19, there were some modifications to service during our visit. One: there were not cone options. Two: you have to place your order outside of the ice cream shop. Three: no cash accepted (with the exception of tips). The service was pretty fast and the customer service rep was quite friendly. You could tell that they were trying to make the best with the COVID-19 situation. I had the salted caramel blondie which was pretty amazing. Super limited seating inside (2-3 tables) and like four tables outside but in the hot sun with no umbrellas. The employees seemed very bothered that we were there mid day on a Friday when we were the only people in there. No restroom even if you're a customer. Ice cream tasted like it was freezer burn. My favorite is Phish food which on this visit tasted better in the frozen aisle from the grocery store! read more

There young women who work in this B&Js are really nice and engaging and very helpful. That's the good part; the bad is just about everything else. And there are two reasons why: 12) B&Js ice cream, in spite of its reputation is a much overrated "premium" ice cream. We have artisanal ice cream made in our hometown and it is much superior in taste, richness and texture and costs less. And 2) B&Js is overpriced. Here it is over $6 for a small cup, high given even B&Js exalted reputation and being in somewhat pricey Lake George. There are at least six other ice cream parlors within easy walking distance who charge much less ($4 for a medium cup) and whose ice cream is every bit as yummy as B&Js. We'd strongly suggest you try one of them. read more

Ben & Jerry's ice cream is pretty much can't miss. The storefront carries nearly every variety available as well as a somewhat limited number of topping options. Due to its prime location on Canada Street combined with its small footprint, lines here can get L-O-N-G, but they tend to move quickly. Staff are always friendly and efficient. Prices are high, but that is to be expected when you combine B&J's "premium" ice cream status combined with the Lake George tourist price point. Seating is extremely limited, with three or four small tables inside and two or three even smaller tables outside, so plan to take your cones, cups or milkshakes for a stroll. What's not to like about Ben & Jerry's? Quality ice cream on a hot day in a touristy town. My biggest complaint is that they're only open seasonally. Can't blame them, though. Lake George is a ghost town in the fall/winter. The line moved fast and the folks in our group had a kiddie strawberry cone (single scoop), a chocolate shake and a large waffle cone with 2 different flavors intermingling delightfully. I actually refrained from the treat in the heat yesterday (but I did take a bite out of the strawberry cone). NOT grabbing a sundae...or even a scoop... was really, really difficult. Why? Upon walking in, the wonderful smell of freshly baked cones hits the olfactory nerve and subsequently makes the stomach rumble. There aren't many places to sit, so strolling down the street with your goodies might be the way to go. Or, there are a few benches up the block. Yum. read more

Was so excited to see a Ben and Jerry's here in Lake George since they don't have many (real) locations back in NYC. I got the chunky monkey flavor which is banana and chocolate and it was $5 for two big scoops. I would say the taste and portion was worth the price. The store itself also gave off a very comfortable vibe. I definitely recommend getting a cone here and then taking a stroll along the piers on the adjacent street because the views are magnificent! read more

I would suggest maybe adding a more basic flavor of ice cream like chocolate or vanilla for the dairy free option because I wanted dairy free but there was only two odd flavors so I ended up getting regular chocolate. This place has more flavors than the one up in Bolton's Landing. It's less clean and probably older but the ice cream is what matters the most. Most of the staff are local, friendly high school students. I got a Chocolate Fudge Brownie on a cone, sat outside and indirectly gave the store 5 sales after kids watched a 6 foot 1 guy lick around the ice cream.
