Great place to get gas and take a break from a long drive. Always fresh coffee and employees friendly. Bathrooms also always clean.

They offer Perry's Ice Cream (hard scoop) and soft serve ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, twist) in a dish or waffle cone, sundaes, banana boats, milkshakes, ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cake, slushies, flurries, floats, and a doggie sundae. For food, they have burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, chicken tenders, fries, onion rings, fried foods, salads (potato & macaroni), mac & cheese, and Pepsi products. They have inside and outside takeout counters here and plenty of picnic table seating across the gravel parking lot. I stopped by for lunch recently. I ordered a Pulled Pork Sandwich Meal ($11 plus tax) which comes with choice of one side and I got the Mac & Cheese) and a Root Beer Float ($4.50 plus tax). My food was ready very quickly (less than 3 minutes), since I didn't order anything deep fried. I enjoyed my lunch onsite at a picnic table. The Pulled Pork Sandwich was a good size, soft sweet BBQ pulled pork in a toasted hoagie roll and the mac & cheese (orange cheese) was a good sized side. I mixed the two items to have Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese for lunch. The root beer float was a cup of vanilla soft serve ice cream with a can of A&W root beer to pour over the ice cream to enjoy. Overall, a good quick lunch at Below Zero on a sunny day, well above zero outside here.

God, it's hot out. The ol' climate may in fact be changing on us. It's a good thing we have ice…read morecream. Everyone loves ice cream. Everyone in my family, at least. And a stop at the Dairy Carnival is always welcome, especially after three hours in the car. They've got Perry's hard ice cream and soft serve. I go with the former because I'm an adult (this is a dig at my soft-serve loving wife), and I went wild this time with the Deep Sea Treasure (caramel ice cream with salty caramel swirls and caramel sea salt truffles). I like salty with my sweet, and it was amazing...the salt content means it's also the fastest melting ice cream known to man, so be warned. My kids got soft serve swirls with rainbow sprinkles, because they are tiny little girls and that's what they do. The younger one got mad at absolutely nothing and threw hers on the ground about a minute after we gave it to her, and then stole handfuls of her older sister's because she's a savage. But everyone enjoyed the stop, because ice cream on a hot day is one of life's great pleasures. Don't deny yourself. Come to the Dairy Carnival. It's a classic All-American spot staffed that we were glad to find: they've got burgers, fries, onion rings, hot dogs, chicken fingers, and ice cream, served by friendly teenage girls. Thus far, we've only had the ice cream, but I think we'll be back for it all some day in the near future. We also played giant Connect Four and threw balls at the Big Foot in the backyard (by the nice picnic tables with umbrellas for shade), because that's what you do at the Dairy Carnival.

The kids lived the ice cream, simple establishment with yummy treats. Nice for a little drive to…read moretry a different place. No complaints from our crew!
