Our contractor--who's worked with Jeff for 20+ years--offered to provide free labor to replace the stone if Jeff took it back but Jeff refused to take his product back or stand behind his product. His website claims to sell "the finest, high-quality materials," but this stone didn't last a year. A stone expert confirmed it's low-quality with weak veining, and sealing wouldn't fix it. Jeff was asked to visit the site and advise on repairs--he refused and has stopped responding to calls and emails. Poor product, poor service, and absolutely no accountability.

He returned several weeks later to do the pruning - probably the tree's first in over 50 years. The tree is now much lighter and looks great - cant wait for this year's crop of apples! Jerry is extremely personable and very thoughtful. During his two visits he provided very helpful information about tree care. Also Jerry and his colleague (oops, cant remember his name) did a terrific job of cleaning up. I also appreciated that New Leaf kept me updated about my appointment date and the time of arrival. Whether my visit on an early Saturday morning was spontaneous or not, the succulents, house plants, pots, gardening items and loose bloom selections here are almost endless. The several stems I selected to create my own arrangement at home all varied in prices from $3-$5 He'd mentioned the names of my individual cuttings- but their names escaped me. I was here for one thing only and Brian made my day. My stems were gathered in a bouquet, wrapped in heavy duty brown paper, lined in green tissue paper and tied elegantly with a navy blue ribbon (with attached care notes). This is the Catskills. I've gone through roughly a dozen folks here. They all came recommended. They all were a huge disappointment - some after a few jobs, some after one. I've learned never to pay half up front without references, and I've posted to social media those folks who take half up front and disappear. Sadly, it has happened a couple of times. I relied on them to refer me to a contractor to do a roof repair on my home and they only provided me with two names. I went with Joe Remley- Builder/ Contractor or Ashland, NY and it turned out he was not such a good reference. In fact I had an awful experience. Remley required that I give him a down payment of several thousand dollars to have my roof repaired. I paid Remley the money he wanted and never saw him again. He didn't do any of the work he was supposed to do and has not been responsive to phone calls. Joe Remley is not directly affiliated with Ace Hardware/ Williams Lumber, that I know of, but I relied on Ace Hardware/ Williams Lumber to provide me with a reliable contractor and he wound up ripping me off and scamming me out of thousands of dollars with no work done. This is more of a warning to others to watch out for Joe Remley and to not put so much trust into Williams Lumber for contractor references. Very disappointed.
