What a great bakery. The moment I stepped into the bakery, I was greeted and offered assistance. I ordered two cakes for a 90th birthday party. I ordered a Strawberry Romanoff cake and an Italian Rum Cake. Both cakes looked beautiful and tasted delicious. I received so many wonderful comments about the cakes. I LOVE the donuts at Steimar. Just pair any flavored donut with a black coffee and you experience sheer bliss. I have been to Steimar twice all the way from Indiana while visiting family and it's so worth the hype. The service is quick and all the donuts are delicious. Take a dozen, half dozen, single flavor, mix and match or order a custom cake or just go crazy on macaroons and bread. Steiner has everything for everyone at a very very reasonable price! We were only in town for one day (3.18.2023), but I'm thrilled we happened upon this gem of a place. I initially came by on my own, and once I saw the selection, knew my wife and kids would really want to make some choices as well. So, when we checked out of our hotel, we all stopped by. Everyone really enjoyed what we selected, with me REALLY liking the cheesecake bites with Cherry topping. Everyone was kind and patient with us despite our initial transgression of walking passed everyone and straight to the counter (I mistakenly thought that folks were looking at bread). We hope to move to Michigan soon from Texas, and if we do, several visits to Stiemar will certainly be in order! read more

this year I went to get paczki please I've been going for quite a few years but this year when I picked up some up there really bad they claim it was the batter but there's hardly any filling in them and they look just like donuts. Very disappointing this year. Yeah they said come back tomorrow to have better ones. I'm here today. They should've had them today not tomorrow. read more

When I go to someone's house for dinner, I bring a dozen Stiemar donuts. Everyone is very excited when they see the box. These are REAL donut shop donuts. If you've only ever had Tim's then you will be ecstatic at the quality of the donuts and the amazing taste. And they have a few "unique" combos. Their breads a awesome as well. I especially like the Venetian loaf. But, you have to go very early in the morning on weekends because they sell out of the popular things, like Boston Creme donuts, lol. I've had their coffee and I was underwhelmed. I don't like Starbucks coffee, for reference. read more

Completely under prepared for Christmas Eve. Was there by 11 and they had nothing good whatsoever.. I'm extra sour because the idiot on the phone assured us to "just come in! We are making lots of stuff!" and then after driving 25 minutes to get there they've got nothing but old bread and bland looking boring pastries. None of the fresh donuts they said would be there. A good friend in Windsor recommended the Cinnamon Eggnog Fritters. The photo looked amazing that she posted on Facebook, so today I went by to buy a dozen for myself, and a dozen for my friend, as a surprise. I live in Novi Michigan, so it took me an hour to get there. I got there about 1:30 and asked for the fritters, and I was told they sell out by noon everyday. Why wouldn't they make enough, if they sell out every day by noon? So I thought I would get a variety of pastries as a second choice for my friend. When I looked in the showcase, it had several flies in the case. I looked at all the other cases, and they had flies in them too. There were even flies on the outside of the cases. DISGUSTING! When I mention this to an employee, she told me "The sugar attracts them" Well No S**t Sherlock! If I were the owner, I would spend all day throwing out everything, killing the flies, and doing a deep cleaning on the entire bakery. How can they operate with filthy bugs all over their food? I don't know if they have a board of health in Windsor, but someone should call them! This is the end of December, flies have been dead for months outside. Oh, sweet tastes of my youth. Do yourself and your family a favour - buy them a doughnut that wasn't baked at Timmy's. Also known for their bread, cakes and other pastries. Stiemar was founded in 1959. I think that they have been in the same location since they opened. It's on Ouellette near where it dovetails with Dougall Ave (just south of Eugenie). We stopped by mid-week for some rye bread, one of many types of bread they make. It's to die for! The owners, Enzo and Angie, were there and insisted we taste some of their pastries. I liked the apple strudel. And there are plenty of seats and counter space to sit down and enjoy the delicious doughnuts and hot coffee. I learned that their breads are sold at Randazzo in Macomb County, Michigan and several other Detroit area store locations. read more
