I have been wanting to try Dutch Girl for a while now. It is just south of 7 mile on Woodward. The bakery is very easy to find with some parking in front and more behind. The employees are friendly and fast. The Donuts are original size from the 1940s, so don't be surprised when they look smaller than other shops. They are worth it - lots of flavor and very fresh. The bakery is 24 hours, too. We tried a variety of cake Donuts and a Cinnamon roll. All great with lots of flavor. I was headed south on Woodward when I had to break for a Dutch Girl where I wolfed down two coconut donuts in the car on the drive to my next appointment. We went on a Wednesday afternoon thinking it wouldn't be super busy and they would have a good selection of donuts left and we were right on both counts. Although once our group came in it got crowded quick and then a line started to form. The line went pretty quick but the place is very small so it seems like there would be a line at all times. I was surprised at the variety of donuts and I'm not sure why? Maybe because it was small I wasn't expecting the variety they had but happy with the outcome. Donuts were fresh and good. I've been waiting so long since I first heard the news that this absolute gem had been rescued, and we were in the area a half hour before closing and decided to take a chance. They didn't have all varieties left, but what they did have was AWESOME! And there was still a line, but not that long.
