My family's experience with Lassahn Fiduciary Services, later renamed Stiles Partners, was disappointing. I brought the conservatorship matter to court, supported an independent conservator, and had court-recognized standing in the related trust matter. My email records show at least 593 messages involving the fiduciary office from 2018-2026, so this is based on years of direct communication and documentation. Update after the business response: I understand the trustee and conservator had separate roles. My review is focused on the court-appointed conservator's role in my grandmother's personal care, health and safety, residence, medical follow-up, dignity, and communication. These were concerns I raised directly with the fiduciary office over years of emails. Annual court review does not change my documented experience. Late 2018 / Early 2019: Locked refrigerator and food cabinets. We raised concerns that my grandmother's refrigerator and food cabinets were locked. Locking an elderly woman's access to food should have triggered much more proactive oversight. February 2019: Locked thermostat. My grandmother's lawyer wrote that thermostats were reportedly locked and set in the low 60s, calling it a health and safety issue requiring immediate attention. A family should not have to fight that hard to keep an elderly woman's home warm. Repeated attempts to revisit her placement. Before Lassahn took over, a court-approved settlement framework had put an independent fiduciary in place, and my position was that my grandmother should remain safely in her home. Yet moving her kept coming back. In 2019, my grandmother's lawyer's office forwarded a Lassahn status report and warned it looked like a prelude to petitioning the court to move her. In 2020, during COVID, the office filed a residence petition asking the court where she should live. October 2019: Bathroom/plumbing issue. A case manager asked whether my grandmother could stay with my family for two weeks after alarming information about a toilet/plumbing issue. My wife taped off the nonworking toilet and sink, added signage, and verified another first-floor bathroom was functional. A few days later, I wrote that the office had received false information about "raw sewage," and everyone agreed my grandmother was fine where she was. September 2020: Temperature, food, and quality-of-life documentation. I sent documentation to the court investigator after hiding temperature loggers in my grandmother's house. I documented temperatures often too high, bare cupboards, locked food areas, removed stove knobs, and concerns she was denied normal activities she enjoyed. 2021 / 2022: Food and nutrition concerns. My wife reviewed grocery receipts and care notes and raised concerns that my grandmother was being given cheap frozen meals, including small frozen dinners of about 280 calories and soups around 240 calories. Based on the records, she estimated my grandmother may have been getting only about 700-750 calories a day and asked for a nutritionist or real meal plan. 2022: Dementia medication concerns. I raised concern that my grandmother's dementia medication had been stopped and that she was on other medications that could reduce cognitive function. The response was that the concern would be mentioned to the doctor and hospice nurse. I did not see a clear follow-up explaining what was decided or why. 2023-2026: Billing versus care communication. The office sent fee letters and billing statements, often in large multi-month batches after the fact. Billing felt more systematic than communication about the human side of my grandmother's care. Late 2024 / January 2025: Hospice decline and quality-of-life questions. After months without meaningful updates, I emailed because I heard another relative may have complained. The office responded that my grandmother was still on hospice, eating less, sleeping more, and in bed. I then had to ask basic end-stage care questions: turning, pressure sores, lift, wheelchair, ramp, and fresh-air/outside time. The medical response said mobility options were unsafe, but that quality-of-life discussion came only after I pressed. I also asked about a larger TV and internet/video chat, and ended up handling the TV myself. June 2026: End-of-life communication. After my grandmother passed away, family members did not seem to know where her remains were or when she would be put to rest. I had to email the fiduciary office because my uncle and the funeral home were not responding. A professional fiduciary should be proactive, transparent, compassionate, and focused on dignity. My experience was the opposite: food, heat, medical follow-through, basic comforts, updates, and end-of-life communication required too much pressure from family. I would not recommend Lassahn Fiduciary Services / Stiles Partners. read more

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! They are not trustworthy , greedy , and did not protect the trust I stupidly put Anne Lassahn as Trustee for . She will say anything to get you to hire her but once you do you are stuck and she becomes your adversary. The trust she was responsible for was not large, but it had less in it when she finally resigned : she has a law firm on retainer who begins billing immediately and she pays family members (3!) to work on her "accounting". BTW even though the trust I put her in charge of provides that I am the only one who can approve an accounting , she refused to give me one when I asked and I had to hire an attorney to write to her attorneys ( billing to the trust of course !) to even get an accounting , which showed fees totaling nearly ten percent of the estate ! For one year ! Oh and once you hire her don't expect her to return your calls or emails: she won't . She reneged on her written promise to provide me with an accounting and instead had her lawyers go to court to get their fees approved in the "accounting" as well as her family members fees before she would resign! I am making a complaint to the Professional Fiduciary Association but if I can prevent one person from going through what I went through it will be my good deed for the year. read more

I've had the pleasure of working with Anne, Kelsey, Karin, Trudy, and several members of their supporting team, and I can't speak highly enough about the group. I'm often brought in when their clients have real estate holdings, and I consistently see how thoughtful, detail-oriented, and client-focused they are. They have a strong grasp of the complexities around trusts and fiduciary responsibility, and they do an excellent job communicating and guiding clients through those nuances. Just as important, they genuinely act in their clients' best interests at all times. Ms Lassahn is impossible to work with, she's arrogant, routinely rude, refuses to listen to anyone who has the nerve not to jump if she tells them to or should you dare to challenge her about anything. You can't ask her "why or "what" her reasons are for doing anything as she doesn't believe she has to explain anything to anyone - doesn't matter who it effects - and she won't hesitate to tell you that. I don't think she's objective or professional. She has no second thoughts or feelings for the people whose lives she may be destroying as she runs them over, she just doesn't have and scruples at all.
