I will always, always take my pets to Veterinary Medical Center in an emergency. Whenever one of…read moreour pets has needed emergency care, the staff have been not only professional but caring and compassionate. When a pet is in extreme distress, they get them in quickly. Yes, they have to triage sometimes--just like an ER for humans--but the speed of care relates to how busy they are and how dire your pet's situation may be. That said, I have never minded the wait, which I have always felt was reasonable under the circumstances. And once my pets are being treated, they take excellent care of them and do whatever they can to make them comfortable. They also counsel pet owners with kindness regarding the options for their pets, and when we've had to make the choice to tell one of our babies goodbye, the compassion and respectfulness of the staff and doctors has brought me tears of gratitude. As far as the cost, I have always found it reasonable. After all, it costs money to run a 24 hour facility, and frankly, I am willing to pay a premium for the availability of emergency veterinary care when my regular vet is not open. We are lucky to have these folks performing an important service for us pet owners.

I almost said ok but then my husband talked some sense into me. We walked out paying 166.93 for the medicine and testing the puss from the ear (we got a free exam for new patient) but that was a circus getting the coupon online. We had to ask several times to get the 86.25 exam charge off the bill. I think 166.93 was high just for 2 types of medicine for her ear infection and testing the puss. I'll keep looking for another local vet office (not a corporation like this office is) for my 2 cats.
