The experience was nice, Jordan Burrell was a great salesperson , very knowledgeable and was very caring . Carl , the floor Manager was super helpful as well. My daughter purchased a pre owned vehicle, had to end up getting a second key and Mr. Carl and Jordan Burrell really showed warm hospitality. On Monday July 6, 2026 my daughter had to take her car back to get new key program. Tim and Matt work in the service department really need to communicate with each other a lot better. Stivers is now trying to say that myself or another mechanic has specifically put the wrong size lug nuts on my vehicle to try and blame them for this mess. Yesterday I spoke with the General Manager Cliff Tanner regarding my vehicle that I have had in the service department on numerous occasions for the same unknown resolvable issue and the encounter was not a pleasant on. As I look back over the conversations that I have had with Cliff, I've come to the realization that his don't care attitude yesterday is who he is. Maybe some other underlining issues. Over the six years of owning the 2020 Palisade and several issues (1 recall), the service department has been a nightmare. They had the car for three months to fix the paint recall. I ordered tires through them early on and drove two hours, only to be told that they were not available. We've left twice, with no service at all after waiting several hours for scheduled service. The most recent issue (under warranty), they asked us to leave the car for as much as a week to do a diagnostic check. They would determine if the rental car would be covered based upon the results (60$ a day). All of this has been with several different members of the maintenance department. It's clearly a cultural issue and not catching them on a bad day. read more

I Brought my Sonata here because the steering locked up. They have absolutely no regard for human life and just wanted money. Instead of performing the free, factory extended warranty repair, they manually erased the electronic safety trouble codes to hide the defect, lied that the car was safe, and deceptively charged me $1,334.20 for completely unnecessary flushes just to protect their profit margins. Because of their corporate greed, the steering completely failed again, putting my life and others in severe danger. I now hold black-and-white electronic freeze-frame proof from a second dealership showing the steering short code ran at 0 MPH while stationary in Stivers' shop, completely catching their safety cover-up red-handed. They knowingly sent a family out onto the highway in a rolling hazard for a quick dollar. Formal fraud and safety investigations have been officially launched with the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs and the DMV. BBB Complaint: I agreed to purchase a 2022 Santa Cruz Limited for a total of $26908.23 as advertised on CarFax and Stivers Hyundai website. I paid $1000 deposit on 06/06/2026 and then had a cashier's check in the amount of $25908.23 for the balance. I drove 3 1/2 hours to pick up the vehicle today. When inspecting the vehicle, it did not have the tow package (consisting of trailer hitch and wiring harness) as advertised on BOTH of their sale sites. The General Manager of Stiver's Hyundai, Cliff Tanner said they would NOT honor what was on the description on sites. After I showed him both advertisements of theirs', he immediately had them altered. Cliff said it was a "mistake" but even though I drove 3 1/2 hours and cashiers check in hand, he would not make it right nor would he do anything. I asked him just to do the right thing and either put on tow package or pay me to have it done in Wilkesboro. He said he would not do anything. I ask to speak to the owner and was declined. Transparency matters when financing a big purchase! - We financed our car through Stivers Hyundai of Columbia at 8.38%, but later discovered we could have qualified for 7.2% through the manufacturer's financing -- the dealership never mentioned it. Our contract listed Stivers Brothers Automotive Inc. as the creditor, meaning they loaned us the money first and then sold the contract for profit. This is legal, but it cost us nearly $2,000 in extra interest and wasn't explained to us. Tips for buyers: Ask for the lender's buy rate before signing. Consider applying directly with the manufacturer's financing or your own bank/credit union. HIGHLY DISHONEST bought my certified pre-owned vehicle here with the service warranty. every service attempted here was a master class in up sale. no scheduled maintenance was covered by the warranty. final straw: I replaced the headlights myself just a few months ago $20 each. last week, both headlights burnt out simultaneously, I'm not equipped to diagnose electrical problems. they refused to do a diagnostic until I paid $220 each for new headlights. so don't get mad when I'm still behind you running high beams. they undervalued out trade in, and wouldn't finance through Hyundai motor finance when I specifically asked. we own the vehicle outright now, but I will not be bringing any future business to Stivers. read more

We had a head on collision and totaled our car March 30th. We saw a Venue on line that I liked so we drove to Stiversand seemed to get a good deal while I the show room with sales man..Paymentwecould afford . Then we were sent to the guy in the glass office.. The payment almost doubled. I said why is it so much more. Instead of answering he went to typing I his computer. Then he wanted us to add all the extra warranties. We said we just wanted the 10 yr 100000 original warranty. And then he talked my husband into a gap warranty. I didn't even want that. So allwassaid and done and he counted our cash dep and printed our papers out it was past closing time and we thought all was good.Still shaken up from the accident we trusted them to do us right. We literally never even opened the envelope with paperwork. Then we get a text from the creditor about our payment on our over $29000 loan was coming up ..and I asked my husband how a 24000 car with 2500 down could be almost 30000. So as soon as we got home I see we were sold a 4999 maintenance contract that we Never agreed to. We have messages into management but no return call. How can they do this to people? Bought a new 2023 Hyundai. Palisade at 33000 miles the battery died. They told me to have it towed to them to take care of it. When it got there they told me my battery was not the OE battery and they would not cover it. I am the original owner from new and there would be no reason to have changed the battery until now. I feel like we are being misled so they can charge $500 for a new battery! Rude service person that told me he didn't care and I could come get the car if I didn't like it! So I bought my car in 2023 with this dealership.. only to find out my car seller SOLD my last vehicle including my documents without my knowledge. (Theft) The seller even admitted to the manager the wrongs that he did when confronted... When asked to speak to the manager about the lawsuit I'm going to file, the woman at the front desk walking in completely ignored me when asking for a phone number... Disrespectful. When I would get my oil change or anything done with my car and it was supposed to be for free with my car warranty.. they would still charge me and try to be dishonest because they thought they could get away with it i'm guessing because I'm a girl? I don't know but ridiculous. Lastly, the last two times my mother and I called the dealership about inquiries.. A man hung up on both my mother & I .. disrespectful. And then when I'm trying to find out about rims for my car.. a man named Luke I think I can't be certain was extremely extremely disrespectful just yelling through the phone because I didn't say the correct wording for him about my rims when I had no idea what he was talking about instead of walking me through to explain better, he said I was disrespectful and difficult for him? At first I was very happy with Stiver's maintenance. However, I have quickly learned that the maintenance contract they sell you (which sounds like it covers pretty much anything when they are selling it-and it should for the price) seems to be a bait and switch. I was told they know what is covered by the Vin# when you bring it in. However, they did an alignment and I paid for it and the next time I went in I was told the maintenance contract should have paid for it. Of course, the dealership charges $129 for the alignment but the contract actually only pays $84.00 toward that. They charged me for air and cabin filters and I'm pretty sure that should've been covered. If they don't know what is covered exactly how and I going to know without something in writing. Brought it in for an oil change (42,000 miles) and was told it needed a "complete fuel service $469.95 and a brake fluid exchange service $239.95". Okay, I can't believe it already needs $709.90 worth of work and I drive like a granny. I asked if any of it was covered by the maintenance plan (we have the platinum). The young lady where I checked out at said no. I have asked for a copy of the so called maintenance contract for MONTHS from different people (Shelby Parker who kept saying someone would call). I finally received a call when I said I was just going to cancel it. Then Nick Franco called me says "well there isn't actually a contract but I can type something up and send it to you". That was September 26 and I haven't seen anything yet. How can you sign a contract for something and they can't even tell you what it covers.They were supposed to fix a ding in my car (was there when we bought it) and I didn't take it back in time I guess. Well, we have the maintenance contract to cover that too but they have been making an appointment for it since June and I don't have one yet. I'm pretty sure they are just stalling until it runs out so they don't have to do anything. They should just refund us the money and I will reimburse them for the $79 they gave us toward an alignment and the one oil change and I'll keep the other $7,600.00. Last thing I heard was October 6 (2 weeks ago) that they would get me the information and schedule my door repair.........can you hear the crickets? When they are selling it they make it sound like it covers everything but it never seems to cover anything I need done. Looks like I'm not the only one upset with this outfit... Made the mistake of buying a service deal with them - service department constantly lied to me about the services they said I needed. Double checked with a reliable repair shop - discovered Stivers was lying. So I got with their finance person Zena Surafa, and we completed the paperwork to credit me back the unused portion of my service warranty. That was in April. My recent experience with the brake job on my 2012 Hyundai Genesis has been a nightmare. Despite my explicit concerns about the rotors being resurfaced too aggressively, the issue was not addressed, and I was left with a car that is unsafe to drive due to the loud noise from the brakes. The service manager, Richard, failed to keep his promise to resolve the issue, and now I am faced with the possibility of having to pay for a mistake that I did not authorize or cause. Von Robinson was with us from the beginning. He showed us the vehicles we were interested in, and we did a test drive of the vehicles. The next day, we had our daughter with us, and she test-drove the vehicle she wanted. Von gave us the information needed to make a decision. Once we decided and agreed on the price, we spoke to the finance manager and completed the deal. This was the fastest and easiest vehicle purchase ever. I have to admit I am quite frustrated. I came in for an oil change last Friday. The service advisor told me it would be at least a 2 hour wait. We agreed it would be best to make an appointment. So I made the appointment for the following Tuesday L. I asked him how long it would take and he said 45 minutes to an hour. So taking his information into account I made my appointment for 10:00 knowing I needed to leave by 11:15. I arrived around 9:50 and the service advisor again said it would be around 2 hours. I asked why did I need to make an appointment. After waiting for 45 minutes without my car even being moved from where I parked it I left. I think this is unacceptable. Do better Stivers. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE. Picked up a Palisade on Wednesday night. Sent paperwork ahead of time so that we could sign and drive, but got there at 4:30pm and were told the paperwork wasn't done. Waited two hours to get paperwork finished, finished signing paperwork at 7pm. Someone walked a key out to us, walked back in, and locked the door. No walk around, no orientation to the car, nothing. Drove the car home and parked it in the garage as it doesn't have a tag on it yet. Pulled it out today, Saturday, to see scratches all down the passenger side of the car and on the front bumper. Sent photos to the salesman we worked with, Louie Roth, who told us they definitely would have noticed those and they can't do anything about it. A manager called me later and claimed I must have "driven it into a bush" to get those scratches, and again told me they weren't going to do anything about it. The car has only as many miles on it as it takes to drive from the dealership to my house in Lexington, and I don't recall hitting any bushes along I-20. Hands down the worst dealer experience I've ever had, and I've purchased 3 cars in the last 5 years. If you must buy a car from here, DEMAND a walk around before you take it home because once it leaves the lot, apparently it's not their problem. Also don't let them get you on the "we sell cars at MSRP" nonsense. That got us in the door, then they added $1k for a "ceramic coating" and $3k if we wanted to pay cash or use outside financing. read more

They do not want to cover the price of the situation they started. They sure do not have a problem with utilizing your extended warranty to gain income when they cause the problem. Honestly I hate car shopping but these guys made it pretty enjoyable. First time I went the sales manager asked me why I wanted a white car-I said "because it's my money". Our sales guy called and said they had a white one and I went back. Once they had the car for us to look at, turns out it was white, just didn't have the options I asked it have on it. Told him we could come back once they had one. On the way to the car another sales manager actually ran out to us and yelled "family-family" and we stopped to speak to him and he was way out of breath after chasing us into parking lot. I almost laughed at the situation! It seems like their management staff maybe too stressed about moving units. Work on your CX skills managers! Still recommend them because there are some nice cars-but maybe just go with Carvana in future. read more

Totally agree with the previous reviews regarding the terrible customer experience in the service department. First, after a 2+ hour wait, was told the part needed had to be ordered and wouldn't be available until the next day. Second, after another 15 minutes, was told they took everything apart to look at the part. I would either have to leave my car overnight or they would have to put everything back together meaning more time/expense that day and the next in order to install the new part. Third, the 'next day', called to find out the status since it was noon and I hadn't heard anything. My service manager had the day off and no one knew anything about my car. When they checked into it, found they might get the part the next day so my car would be there another day. Then, when asked if I would definitely get my car back the next day, was told they have no control over whether the part arrives and, if it arrives, whether the tech would be able to work on it. In summary, if/when a car gets repaired is basically a guess. Would not recommend the service department. If I could have rated a 0, I would have. read more

Do not use this dealership if you want to be treated like more than a dollar sign. I had several concerns regarding customer service when dealing with Austin. The last instance was regarding my car recall and the manner in which he dealt with me to include hanging up on me. When I called the service manager to report this inappropriate behavior, he never returned my call. I wrote an unsatisfactory review which prompted them to reach out to me only for the general manager to answer and rush me off the phone without me being able to completely explain my grievances. I have purchased TWO vehicles from this property and would tell anyone that is considering Stivers to think again. They are recalling vehicles and acting as if it is your fault; in addition, they will return your vehicle to only have you to have to return it to them due to the services being incomplete. My car power window stopped working, cost to fix for a recycled not even a new part was outrageous. Then immediately when I drove away my car would not stop shaking. They told me I needed to go back to whoever put on new spark plugs. I had this done 9 months ago and the warranty still good car was running great, but after leaving it with Stivers it's obvious they did something to make my car shake profusely so I would need to come back. No way!! They told me they only touched the door panel for the window, but I'm not that stupid. It's obvious they messed up my car!!! read more

Trying to buy a Genesis GV70, but all I get is the runaround. They want a $1000 non-refundable deposit for a car that is coming in March (2 months out). I don't have a problem with this, but I need some assurances before sending. They cannot tell me what they will give me for my trade until the day the car comes in. So if they just offer a low amount I lose my deposit or pay a HUGE amount for this car??? This is unethical. All I am asking for is to be able to re-direct the $1K deposit to a cheaper car, but they say I cannot. I have gone around and around via text messages to get them to clarify, but they instead just insult my intelligence and tell me to either send the deposit or move along. June 20-appointment made Aug 9-car dropped off, agreed to diagnostic fee Aug 10-contacted with repair quote of $3400. Told tech very clearly I would pick the car up and take it elsewhere. Aug 12-paid diagnostic fee of $300. Attempted to leave. Made it 5 miles before differential dyed. Limped back to dealership. Waied 3 hr to speak to both managers. Neither one knew what was going on. Mansplained what the last does. GM verified fluid was put in the rear differential, but it was not noted and I really don't think he'd know diff fluid from coolant. I suspect the diff was not refilled leading to destruction of the part. An agreement was met, a used part is to be ordered. Aug 20-after a week of no contact, call p Vaughn for update. Part is still being shipped. Aug 26-attempted pick up no 2. Was verbally assured car had been tested and was fixed. Car is not fixed. Left car. At this point ac is also not working. Informed that evening via call that it was the rod, not the 'back end'. I stare this is not acceptable. Was quoted via text the price of the part. Aug 27-was texted that oops the new to me back end (rear diff) was the problem and a new one would be ordered. Jason was emailed an invoice for $800 Sept 13-car is fixed. Was assured via text that the car was driven with weight. Tested car. Car was worse than the date I took it in. Ac still damaged. Leave with car, at no charge to customer on invoice. Final invoice stated charge $1100. On drive home, it's discovered that the rear bumper is no This is one of the worst dealerships I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Took my Hyundai to them in the beginning of August 2021 due to a vibration while under power.. Had the Service Department do the diagnostic and was told they knew the source of the vibration. The quote they gave me for the repair was four times more than a local mechanic. Declining the repair we told the dealership we would be taking the car elsewhere. We went the next day, paid the $300 for the diagnostic work and left. Less than a mile down the road the car began smoking and making a high pitched metal-on-metal shrieking sound. We turned around and took it back to Stivers. Once there we learned that they hadn't reassembled the car correctly and they "meant to tell us the car was undriveable". We had a sit down with the GM Cliff Tanner and the Service Manager Paul Vaughn. Both men apologized profusely for the issue and once the GM learned the price of the repair quote he assured us he would get the repair done for the same price as a local shop. Like idiots we agreed. Thus began our six weeks of hell with this awful dealership. Over the course of the next month and a half, we were lied to by Cliff and Paul multiple times. Three separate times both men assured us through calls and texts that the car was fixed. We would go to retrieve the vehicle and give it a test drive only to find the issue wasn't resolved! We would return, complain to Cliff and Paul the issue was still there and be lied to again that "we'll fix it this time". After the third such lie my wife decided she had had enough. After giving Paul a verbal beating we were told there would be no charge for the attempted repairs and we took our vehicle elsewhere. We have since learned that the problem was completely unrelated to what Stiverss diagnosed. On top of that they damaged the part they were supposed to be repairing. Now we have to pay outta pocket to fix the original problem PLUS the screw up on Stivers' part. Since then Cliff Tanner and Paul Vaughn have ghosted and avoided us. They refuse to return our calls/texts/emails and in person visits. Even calls/emails to Stivers' parent company go unanswered. They destroyed my car, the back bumper was ripped off, the paint was flecked with who knows what, and they broke my AC. The management has been patronizing and fulfills the stereotype of slimey car salesman. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!
