Greg at Stix N Studz is fantastic. He's professional, his pricing is fair, and his shop is clean and sterilized! I found Stix N Studz after having some bad luck at a piercing place in Providence. After nearly 13 years with no issues with my nose piercing, I purchased a very OVER priced ring at a shop in Providence (they told me it was the best quality and safest type of ring to choose) which led to a big infection forcing me to let my piercing close while it healed. When it finally closed up, I was looking for a new place to re-pierce it. Stix N Studz in Newport had great reviews so I figured I would give it a shot. When I called the shop, Greg was very helpful and calmed my nerves as I was a bit timid after having the poor experience in Providence. I showed up a bit early to my appointment and he was super accommodating, taking me right in. The re-piercing went smoothly and with the jewelry and aftercare products included it came to under $50. Greg asked if we could stop back in to the shop in a week or 2 so he could take a look and make sure everything was healing well and so he could adjust the stud to make sure it's comfortable and what I wanted. I scheduled an appointment with Greg a few days after my 36 birthday as a gift to myself. Greg was amazing with his care, his personality, knowledge, and did an incredible job. I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to any kind of appointment whether it be a doctors appointment, piercing, or tattoo but his sense of humor and his incredible love for his work made me feel at ease. I had called around to a few shops prior to Stix N Studs but a lot of shops will not do the septum piercing because of how difficult it is. I hadn't had a piercing done in over 10 years so I had no clue on what places to call. I am so pleased and happy with the results and the care I had. I will only be going here from now on. Greg even gave me a discount for my birthday. My piercing is about 4 weeks old and is healing wonderfully. One of the first times my skin has healed so nice with no infection or irritation. I really enjoy the staff at High Hopes/Stix and Studs. I've done the majority of my piercings with their main piercer and he always takes his time and he's very gentle. I got my rook and my industrial done the other day and I couldn't be more happy with the results. I originally thought about getting my daith done but he assured me that because I have a thicker ear the daith may be unsafer to do and I may be at higher risk of infection. This was very good information for me to know. He's also very honest and wasn't afraid to tell me that my piercings were in sensitive places and that they'd probably hurt. My rook piercing was bleeding badly and it got on my shirt, I told him it was fine, but he cleaned the blood stain off at the store which was very nice. I'd recommend Stix and Studz to anyone looking for some cool new piercings. The service is pleasant from beginning to end and all of the staff is friendly. No complaints about this experience. I had been wanting to get a Tragus piercing for some time and while away in Newport, I decided to go ahead and get it done. I was a bit nervous; however, Greg made me feel totally comfortable, talking me through the entire process and it was quick and not painful as I was expecting. He gave me the aftercare instructions and told me what to expect and said to text him if any issues should arise with the piercing even after I told him I didn't live in the area. The next day I returned because the ball fell off of the piercing and Greg gladly took a look at the piercing and replaced the ball and again reiterated to text him with any issues. I hadn't gone to get a piercing in years and I was feeling nervous but once I started talking to the piercer and the other girl there, they were so kind and my nerves were gone. The piercer spent a good amount of time talking to me about the placement, making sure it was exactly what I wanted. Went in to get my nose pierced and I had an amazing experience. The people working there are extremely nice. Social distancing between customers, wore gloves and masks. Kept all the materials sterilized. Great price for the service! Gave a generous bottle of cleaning solution! And gave great instructions on how to take care of the piercing after.
