Pretty good food. New chef is making a difference. Friday night seafood special is definitely worth coming for ... but ... some of the worse serve staff in town. Can't handle more than one or two tables at a time. They often simply ignore patrons waiting for a table in the hope they go away, which many do. Fix the staffing issues. Stopped in for a quick meal and didn't expect much. I ordered the. Lack and blue burger with potato salad as the side. There service for my foods arrival was on point, fast and prompt. The burger was moist and had enough blue cheese to make you want to take another bite. The potato salad had the perfect amount of flavoring that I almost wasn't to ask for the recipe!! To top it all off I ordered a slice of apple pie, that didn't disappoint!!! Light and flakey crush and perfectly seasoned apples/ The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect. Waitress was friendly and cheerful. However, service was slow. And she was not very attentive. Had to ask for water and she never brought lemon. Didn't see much of her during our visit. Very smoky smell from the casino. Lettuce on the dinner salad was discolored. The salad consisted of old lettuce, four cherry tomatoes and a pile of dried bread. Burger was dry and over salted. Located in Stockman's Casino, right off of Williams Ave. You can't miss it. The breakfast here has been good in the past, but the lunch and dinners could be better. Food tastes like they threw everything into a deep fryer. Food is either overcooked or out of the freezer and under microwaved. Disappointing. Best bet, stick with the breakfast. I came here for a steak. I was referred by a local working on the base. I was immediately told they only have one server and please be patient. I get it...and everyone inside was talking about how good the steaks were but how slow things were. Makes sense. However...if you're gonna sit me down with a backlit menu and $40 steaks (in Fallon, NV) at least take my drink order...before the THIRTY minute marker! Of all places my friend had to move to, Fallon NV! I thought Nevada was pretty desolate, but this place is way small and isolated than even Reno and smaller than Elko NV. So this was the first place we I ate when I got to town. I just visiting, thank God! NV Casinos usually have pretty good food in the cafes, I've been to some in Lake Tahoe and Vegas and Reno. NO buffet here though. Yeah, it's smoky, it's NV, just that this place is a little worse than most of the bigger casinos. The coffee shop cafe is mid sized and has friendly servers at least. The lighting could use some improvement, but I guess energy saver bulbs are just that color. I was in the mood for a burger, so I got the big double cheese burger. Yes, it was 2 patties, but the diameter of the bun and burger were smaller than I thought I'd get. The fries were regular frozen fries type. I was hoping for a delicious charbroiled double patty cheeseburger, but had to be satisfied with a regular burger. I really hope this town has better food than this. Stockman's Cafe was the place to hang out at, back in the days... It was also a 24-hour joint, but that hasn't happened in years... We used to order a platter of the Potato Skins and large iced teas all around with tons of sugar packets, lol! This, of course, happening after driving thru the night from hanging out in Reno all day, and not wanting to go home just yet... Now, the hours are limited, the place has been rearranged/renovated, and the arcade on the side has been taken away. I've taken the kids here before, warning them of the smokiness from the casino area. I don't miss that feature, and can't wait to wash away the smoke stink when I get home... I was a bit bummed on my last visit here because I couldn't play my usual game of Keno whilst waiting for and dining on my food. Apparently there's a time restraint on Keno, as well. Dude... That's how I began my amateur gambling career! Ha! My dad would let me pick the numbers and he placed the money on the side of the table for the Keno lady to take. Was so looking forward to see of my usual numbers pop up on the Keno screen. We used the crayons provided for Keno for the games on the kids' coloring page/placemat, instead. We waited a good 5 minutes for anyone to notice we were standing at the hostess stand. Another 5 minutes more for someone to clean off the booth-seating we requested. There were plenty of empty tables, but booth seating is the way to go, as its farther away from the entrance of the cafe, and not nearly as close to the slot machines and initial smoke trail. 8oz. New York strip with baked potato (butter and sour cream), and canned or previously frozen corn with red peppers, and a warmed dinner roll with butter... French Dip with au jus and French fries, and a pickle spear... Kids' 1/3lb. Hamburger with fries (with lettuce, tomato, red onions, and pickle slices on the side)... Sprites x3 I can't tell you how much was spent because we were treated to dinner by an auntie we don't see very often. :-) The steak was cooked as requested, medium, but was quite thin and had a good edge of fat and gristle on one side that I cut off and could not consume. Basic baked potato, no complaints there. I didn't touch the corn stuff... Dinner roll was warm and the butter was spreadable. Not the best steak dinner, but for this particular cafe, it's okay. My daughter devoured the French Dip, but the poor thing was just plain starved. It was her first real meal to chew after having some teeth pulled. Nice sized portions, and the fries were good to dip in the au jus. My son's burger was pretty basic, but he ate all but maybe two bites. He left the veggies alone, and ate a good half portion of the fries. It seemed that the bun a was bit big for the burger itself. The fries had that coating on them that keeps them crisp longer. Our waitress was Ms. Amanda, and she came around to take our order, bring out our food, and give us our check only. For nighttime dining in this town that isn't a fast food place, this is one of the only options. There are some Mexican restaurants on the other side of town, but I never went there even when I lived here. And living in So. Cali. now and having a Mexican hubby, I know a thing or ten about Mexican food, and would not want to risk a not-good meal at the other establishments... Not a bad choice if you want convenience and a decent meal. The steak that I asked be medium was medium well and chewy but the flavor and seasoning was delightful. The mashed potatoes were very well prepared with ground black pepper that was slightly overwhelming but it didn't ruin the meal. read more

Super yummy! And filling too! We had the Chicken Alfredo, the Branding something Burger, and the Chicken Fried Steak, plus split pea and Ham soup, some coffee, and a hot chocolate. They didn't really have anything at the salad bar since they were closing in an hour so I had to get the soup, which ended up being really good! The Alfredo sauce was amazing and the chicken was very moist. The fries were my favorite part of the burger meal, but the burger was still really good, and the BBQ sauce was kinda sweet. The CFS was "just okay" according to my friend, but I thought it was pretty good. He said the Steak was good but the hash browns were really greasy. The coffee was reportedly kinda cold, and the hot chocolate was nothing special. Overall I thought the food was amazing, and the service was alright. read more

After roadtripping through Montana and Wyoming beef country, my sister really wanted a steak...but we're on a budget, so she ended up waiting until we got to Fallon, NV (of all places) to satisfy her craving. I have had enough of being a senior citizen to whom a certain waitress has taken a disliking too. Week after every other week on Club 55 day, she continually makes me sit extra long waiting to give my order. Yesterday 11/05/19 I finally let her know I knew she doesn't care for me but this is getting ridiculous. (every other person in the cafe had already ordered or was eating) Her response was "you always come in alone, I mean you are only one" then she must of realized that was not a proper answer so she fixed it by saying "I've noticed you always sit and wait long".... So this is not raised voices or anything like that. She went and put in my order finally. Next thing I know a new young manager walks from the back looks around a corner post right at me and retreats to the rear. I might be old but I am not ignorant I then said "What I'm the main topic back there" to the cashier (who mouthed silently the words "I'm sorry" to me; which was appreciated) "I'm out of here, left my Club 55 ticket to pay for the coffee I drank and left. I was starving and did not eat. Posting this here hoping it gets to HR but I think I am actually going back to put in a formal complaint. read more

Waited almost 40 minutes to seat my party of 8 (there were 2 open tables the whole time), our table was soaked with water and they put our paper napkins on top of it. They also gave us salad plates with dries food on the tops and bottoms of them and finally the manager who was putting our tables together gave us dirty looks, rolled her eyes, was incredibly rude to her helpful staff and then proceeded to sit at the counter top seating and watch tv. read more

You wrote a review for Holiday Inn Express Fallon 2 days ago 1.0 star rating 5/2/2018 First, let me start by saying this concerns the café in the casino. It is the main place I dine out. I usually eat and then drop a few bucks in the casino. On 1 may 2018 they changed the menu to virtually the 'value menu' of a fast food and raised prices on everything. The new menu deleted all but a few entrees. Choices are non existent. My main meal I usually eat is the Players Club breakfast. I ordered that on 1 May and it appears the link sausage has been replaced with a substandard product. I asked the waiter about this and they seemed perplexed at what has happened. Anyway they told me "less menu and prices raised". My advice to anyone reading this and staying there, plan on going down the street to dine. The Depot was a little bit more money than Stockmans but the food is quality and varied. Also try Bonanza. The only reason I would go there is the house burger and garlic fries. When I say garlic, I mean "garlic" but I happen to like garlic. One other choice is Jerrys and they are always on their game but it is just that, a restaurant. Additionally, I am not alone in this comment. A family came in while my friend and I were waiting and they looked at the new menu, asked 'whats with this' got up and left for the Depot. Never to return I'm sure. I'm hoping enough backlash in Fallon by locals will set things right and the café will fire who ever screwed up a good thing. If not, I predict that within six months the café cannot survive and will go under. read more

Tha Cafe is open to the casino, therefore, draws a significant smoke smell in. Recently management discontinued the iceberg lettuce on the salad bar in favor of a spring mix which looks and tastes like weeds. The food was acceptable, but we will no longer will order salad. read more

Service was friendly and pretty good. Ordered a baked potato and was given a choice butter, sour cream, bacon, and cheese- load her up! Bill can and there was a $1.50 charge per baked potato for the cheese and bacon, the waitresses had no idea where the charge came from. Manager NO where to be found. Wait staff had no idea that they ever charged for that and it's not written on the menu. Pretty sneaky and sad that they don't tell wait staff- customers tend to blame the wait staff for stuff- I blame management. Lame deal Stockman's, lame deal.... The service was a bit slow in the beginning. Took a long time for them to take our order. But after that everything was fine. Came for brunch I guess you could say. BF got the NY steak breakfast and I got the country breakfast with the biscuits and gravy. No complaints on food and huge portions. It's not cheap. But at least the food was good. We have been coming here for the three and a half years we have lived in Fallon. At times, it has been a pleasant experience. Recently, it has descended into awfulness. We came in today, Saturday afternoon, for pie and coffee. How can you go wrong with pie and coffee? Stockman's found a way -- many ways. We were seated fairly quickly. Then it was downhill. People who came in after us were getting served before we were. When we gave our order, Cherry Pie and Chocolate Creme Pie, the waitress, instead of saying something like "let me see what he have," {or, you know, knowing what they had), went into mock-shock mode: "What! Chocolate Creme?? ...". When she finally brought it, she went into histrionics about how busy she was, wiping her brow. Then she half-spilled my pie, so the creme was falling off of the filling. The pie was artificial and terrible. There were five mini-chocolatey chips. My wife's cherry pie, after she requested it be warm, was frozen. We are moving out of state soon. We will not miss this sham of a restaurant. read more
