What a great addition to Fallon! Finally something unique, out of the ordinary and different. I've had their Poboys, Baskets, sides and desserts and everything is fantastic! Do wish they had a different French fry but I can look past that to the flavor. Great service and friendly. Plus they have a monthly special that adds to the mix of offerings.

Bayou Bites' Shrimp Po-Boy. Nicely prepared. Not too much lettuce.

As a native of Acadiana and resident of Storey. County, I had a few hours to kill today and drove to Fallon to try out Bayou Bites. The service was quick, and the shrimp po-boy was really delicious. The remoulade sauce was pretty good, and the shrimp themselves were good sized, fresh, and breaded/fried up just right. Kudos to the young woman who took my order! Bayou Bites is located in the Grid building, with ample seating shared among other food stalls. If you want a fountain drink, a separate purchase from another merchant in the shared space is necessary.

    Fried green tomato basket

The fried green tomato basket was delicious. Fries were perfect. I was ready before I could finish a few games of pinball. I love quick service.

There was live music at the hotel next door (by the pool) that we were treated to. All the servers had big smiles and were very welcoming. Our server reviewed the menu and made great recommendations. He took our orders which included a kid's meal for a 2 1/2 year-old. Attention to detail matters- they brought our little guy's meal first without asking, which was much appreciated. My husband and I ordered the shrimp and grits. He added the andouille sausage to his dish. My son ordered the 14 oz NY steak and my daughter-in-law ordered the mushroom raviolis. We had the wings and the peach and goat cheese crostinis as appetizers. The wings were cooked perfectly with a generous amount of sauce. Not to worry, we had extra napkins and hand wipes to deal with the aftermath, the peach and goat cheese crostinis were very tasty. The shrimp and grits were delicious! They did have a bite to them, but it was not overwhelming. My husband did say the andouille sausage was pretty spicy, but that's the way he likes it. The 14 ounce NY steak was cooked perfectly and was literally all 14 ounces cooked. The mushroom raviolis were amazing! We had the chocolate temptation and the banana bread pudding for dessert. They even brought a little scoop of vanilla ice cream for our little guy. The chocolate temptation was not overly sweet. It was light and delicious. The banana bread pudding was thick and with the caramel sauce so tasty. Our table also ordered two drinks, a Sazerac and an espresso martini. Both were excellent. Toulouse is also open for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Check the website for their hours. Toulouse will be our newest restaurant in our Tahoe rotation.

Everyone was very friendly and attentive always checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed without being too much. We tried the New Orleans style gumbo and really enjoyed it. Good flavor, comforting, little spicy but definitely something I would order again. For dessert we decided to go all in and try all 3 Bread Pudding, Pistachio Cheesecake and the Chocolate Temptation. They were all good, but the Chocolate Temptation was easily the star for me. If you're a chocolate person, that's the one I would recommend. Drinks were okay, nothing bad but probably the least memorable part of the experience. Overall, good food, great service and a nice place to enjoy dinner while in Tahoe. I would come back and try more of the menu in my next visit to the lake.

On this trip, they offered the Crawfish Etouffee as a special, coming highly recommended from all the staff, so I had to try it. The soup had a very thick, creamy texture, rich with flavor. The bits of crawfish were complemented with some grilled shrimp. All served with a dollop of rice. Delicious. My wife had the Fried Chicken Platter. The skin was crisp and full of flavor. I don't know what seasonings they put on the chicken but it was absolutely delicious. Now a risk with any fried chicken is over-cooking the chicken at the cost of getting the skin crispy. This was the case with our dish. While the outside was absolutely amazing, the chicken itself was a bit over cooked. What a shame. We ordered the Chicken Platter with a side of Red Beans and Rice. This was straight from the Bayou. Simple, delicious and perfect. Just wish I had a bigger serving. We also sampled the corn bread. While this too was quite good, the texture was bit to cake like to my liking. Not in a bad way, just different to what I would have preferred. If you are looking for authentic Southern Comfort Food, M&M's is the place for you. Even though our Chicken was a bit over cooked, we are excited to try other dishes on the menu.

Unfortunately, the clam chowder was terribly watered down and had a noticeable "fishy" smell the moment I opened the lid. And before anyone says seafood is supposed to smell pungently fishy: no, it's not. If it smells bad, it's usually because it's not fresh. For a small bowl of clearly watered-down clam chowder that didn't seem fresh - and somehow cost around $20, more than some of the best clam chowders at well-known coastal seafood establishments - I'm annoyed enough to write a Yelp review, which I rarely do unless I'm especially impressed or especially offended. I'm offended.

I ordered the 1 dozen oysters, clam linguine, and house salad. Oysters -- 7/10 The oysters were really fresh and shucked right in front of you, which was definitely a plus. They were a little too big for my liking and had a creamier texture than I prefer, but overall they were good. Clam Linguine -- 7/10 The linguine was solid. The portion was decent, and I liked the combination of clams, lemon, garlic, and Parmesan. Nothing that completely blew me away, but still a good dish. Might pass on the parmesan next time because it clunked up as it melted in the dish. House Salad The salad was actually pretty good and surprisingly large for a house salad. Fresh lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, olives, and plenty of croutons. Overall, everything is prepared fresh right in front of you, which I really enjoyed. The oysters being freshly shucked definitely added to the experience. The wait wasn't terrible, and if you're an oyster or seafood fan, it's worth stopping by while you're in Tahoe. Overall: 7/10 thank youuuu

We were offered ranch to go with our fries. I had a house made thousands island type sauce (but way better) to go on my cheeseburger. It was delicious. I asked one of the employees (Sarah) what was in it. She was very pleasant to talk to and very knowledgeable about all of their house made sauces.
