So the wife and I were in Fallon this week to take care of some business. While we were out there, we thought we would check out one of the local establishments. We were actually looking for another establishment, but could not find it for whatever reason. However, as we were looking, we saw La Fiesta and made a uturn and headed right over. I can honestly say this was well worth checking out. As you walk in the place is pretty spacious and I have to say that the decor is really nice. I included a picture of some of the artwork that is on display. It was just after the lunch hour, so it was pretty much empty in there and we were able to get seated right away. The gentleman that seated us seem to be pretty nice, but didn't make too much conversation, which is fine. He brought us menus and brought chips and salsa after that and took our drink orders. We sat and made small talk as we waited and continued to check out the decor. Being that it wasn't very busy, our food did not take long to arrive But I have to say the chips and salsa was very good and it also included a sort of cabbage type of pico de gallo. Which I only got to try it once because my wife hogged it all. That's how much she liked it. Our food arrived shortly and man did it look good and it tasted even better I can honestly say that. My wife had the chili Colorado and a taquito with beans and rice. I chose to try the chili Verde plate that also came with beans and rice. Both dishes came with warm tortillas. I can honestly tell you that this Chile Verde was legit and I could not get over how good it tasted. My wife was equally as happy with her food and we both kept saying how much we enjoyed it and we plan to come on back and try something else. After eating, I needed to use the restroom, which was clean to my liking, of course And as I walked back to the table, I noticed there was some stairs leading down to a Cantina, which I thought was pretty cool. I did not go down to check it out being it was so early in the day. I didn't think it was open, but I will probably check it out next time we go back. The restaurant is off the main road with plenty of parking behind the building. We were greeted by a friendly employee and got to choose where to sit as we were the first people to arrive. The chips were warm, thick and fresh. You are served mild salsa and a cabbage mix to scoop your chips into. The cabbage had good flavor and was a unique addition, we really enjoyed it! The salsa was mild and a bit on the average side. You can tell the tomato tasted like it came from a can. My husband got the ground beef enchilada which came out steaming hot and I got the fish taco from the lunch menu, both portions were massive! We both thought the rice and beans were delicious! I was a little disappointed with the fish tacos because when I took a bite of the first one, the tortilla split and everything fell out onto my plate after the first bite (same with the others). I then had to eat my taco with a fork which was new for me. I'm someone that goes with the flow, but I must say I've never eaten a taco with a fork before. The fish was battered which I didn't mind, but it was soggy from the pico. It would've been better to have had two tortillas holding the fish taco instead of one thin tortilla and maybe put the pico on the side. The beef burrito was just ok, it needed more flavor. Okay I had to update my review.. We decided to order here again but only received half of our order! Turns out they have an issue with DoorDash only giving them half of the order at a time. Owner happily fixed it and sent an employee to bring us our food. They even included some ice cream for the kids. For some reason the food was even better this time and they had Carne Asada fries!!! I'd say fix your menu on DoorDash because late afternoon the Carne Asada fries are no longer an option and they are amazing. The prices are a little higher for delivery but that's to be expected, absolutely worth it. read more

I'm going full five on this one and it comes down to one word... delicious value! That's two words but who's counting? Seriously. Came in one afternoon while scouting some hunting spots and needed some lunch and some friends lead me here. The vibe inside is charming and the tables are pretty spacious, which turns out to be by design. Walking in I saw the specials board so I asked the server about them. Pollo Asado was on deck with a cheese enchilada, rice and beans, guac and the works for like $15, so I jumped and lemme tell you, the portions are huge! Check out the photos for yourself. This food had real flavor too! The chicken was thin, well charred on the grill, tender and delicious. The beans were nice and creamy with great seasoning and the rice was fluffy and moist. The chips and salsa were super solid too. I like really hot stuff so I asked for the kicked up version and they came back with this great sweet and ghost spicy that was oh so good! I'm so surprised that this place doesn't have more stars! We are in Fernley and regularly drive over to Fallon to eat here! I'm a creature of habit and once I find an item I like I don't order anything else... For here that item is the enchiladas zuisa. Super good! After a long day at Naval Air Station Fallon, we stopped by for an early dinner. I saw the Pozole on the menu and our server said it was excellent. Pazole is one of my favorite soups and after being in 97 degree weather all day, hot soup was a logical choice...at least for me. The soup was loaded with pork and hominy. The broth was spot on. Their Dos equis Michlota was more appropriate for the hot weather! I will return the next time I am in Fallon! read more

Went out for a Sunday brunch and was craving Mexican so we decided to give La Fiesta a shot. The chips and salsa were decent. The salsa itself was more watery than I would have liked but it had a good kick to it, not too spicy either. The lemonade wasn't too sweet which I liked. I shared my entree, California Burrito. Now I was pretty disappointed with this dish. I've never had a California Burrito that was smothered in sauce like an enchilada and had I'd known that, I would have made a different choice. But on the menu, there are no pictures nor a description of that dish. The taste overall was very bland. Lacked in flavor and seasonings. I was here last maybe 10 years ago so I can see a lot has changed since then. I ordered the California burrito with no onions. This wasn't really a burrito but more like a huge enchilada. The "burrito" was fully stuffed with rice, a ton of French fries and about 10-15 small pieces of carne asada plus more rice on the side, a little bit of pico de Gallo and some sour cream and guacamole. The rice was ok. The fries were definitely reheated fries, like when you have leftover fries and you microwave them, just like that. The meat, was full of tendons and rubbery. Good thing there was not much of it in that big burrito. I also had a frozen margarita, it was... not that good. Watery and not really flavored. I will definitely give this place another try (or two) and update the review as necessary, I have hope in them. I remember this was a great place to visit back then. read more

There was a choice of Beef or Cheese or Shredded Beef or Chicken for only 20 cents more and i didn't understand this. I think I might have found the best Mexican food restaurant in Fallon, NV! Hadn't visited here in about 11 years. Right in the middle of downtown, easy access and parking. Can be a little dicey for those in a wheelchair. The staff had to move things around in the kitchen for my son to get through to the dining area. Food is flavorful and plentiful. Portions are huge - you will be surprised. Chips and salsa is great. I am impressed. Place was not crowded for lunch, but I have seen a wait list for dinner. The place from the outside is this neat brick building. When you enter upstairs, it looks like a quaint cantina. They seated us downstairs as the upstairs was full. The lower level has kind of a sports bar feel to it. Our waitress had a gigantic table in addition to my mom and me. She still managed to give us proper attention. We ordered some margaritas that were delicious, then placed an order for a chimichanga and chile verde pork. The prices seemed a bit high (about $18.99 per plate), but when the meals came out, we understood why. The plates were GIGANTIC. Easily two meals per plate. Then we tasted the food...absolutely the best Mexican food we've had since we last lived on the west coast. After 10+ years on the east coast, this was such a welcome surprise. He later became frustrated with the computer and hung up the phone on me without any explanation. I then traveled to the restaurant to complete my order in person. I waited at the front desk for over 15 minutes and I was not acknowledged by anyone. A cashier eventually walked in from the back but did not acknowledge me. Instead he struck a 20 minute conversation with customers who were already leaving. He vented about other employees who he disliked and continued to enjoy a long conversation without acknowledging me or taking my order. I decided to just leave and take my money elsewhere.
