I'll start with the one I chose for those who don't care to read the entire review. Eric, the owner of WHE called me promptly and asked me to text him images of my current water heater installation. After answering 2 follow up questions he gave me an all-inclusive quote, which was the best of the quotes I received. This all inside 30 minutes. We promptly scheduled, and Eric an Daniel arrived on-time. Even though the installation was more difficult than expected because the water heater drain was completely clogged with sediment, he stuck to the quote. In 2:15 hrs they were done, they hauled the old unit away and everything worked perfectly. They left the area clean and the performance of Water Heating Experts exceeded my expectations. Now the other companies. One did not return my weekday query for six hours. One took all info and pics, said they had everything and I had to call them back at 2 pm the next day as I had heard nothing. One arrived 2 1/2 hours late with a high quote. One ignored the water heater I requested and tried to upsell to a unit over double the price. The very fist of these quotes I got said they would price match other companies "even if they were 500-600 dollars less" (and what does that tell you!) . Their lack of quality control and accountability turned a straightforward shower installation into a loss of more than $10,000. They installed my shower valve incorrectly and closed the wall without catching the error, leaving my new shower inoperable and voiding the manufacturer's warranty. The manufacturer, a 3rd party licensed contractor and plumber all confirmed the incorrect installation and that proper testing should have caught the problem before the wall was tiled. When I requested progress photos and pressure-test documentation, none was provided. When I requested resolution, none was provided. Because my matching tile size had been discontinued, reopening the wall required demolishing and rebuilding the shower enclosure. I paid another plumber and tile contractor $10,618.27 to correct their work and restore my shower. Despite repeated calls, texts, and emails, the company provided no repair plan or resolution. After nearly two months, the owner contacted me only after I called the company's insurance broker to file a claim. He argued that I had ordered the wrong valve--even though the manufacturer confirmed that I had not--and still offered no resolution. When I said I would file a complaint with the Florida DBPR, he accused me of "defamation" and said he would "make sure this goes to court." A plumbing mistake is bad enough. Refusing to take responsibility and leaving a customer with more than $10,000 in damages is far worse.

One of the other companies sent a sales guy dressed nicely and looked as if he had never worked on a system in his life. He took tons of measurements, removed the duct-work around my bad unit, was taking photos of the inside and outside unit, opened the interior and exterior circuit breaker boxes, had his laptop and portable printer out....the who 9 yards. Big dog and pony show. Price was outrageous. Premier said they would come out. Prior to their arrival, I got a text message with a photo of the guy coming and an estimated time. He was a little late but what service in this state is punctual? That's so 80's and 90's. He arrived as friendly and personable as can be. He was a technician/sales guy. He understood my concerns with selling my house and not wanting the most extravagant unit that is out there. I needed something that turns on and can pass an inspection. He took very minimal measurements inside and took a peak at the outside unit. He didn't have with him a mobile corporation or bring his own personal desk and chair. He stepped outside for a few moments and came back with a price that was reasonable. I told him I would get back with them after the other quotes came in. Their quote was middle of the road but I felt very comfortable with the company. I didn't feel like I was being taken for a ride. There were no pushy sales tactics used. I called the company back and asked for a lower price which they honored. I was set for a date of my chosing a week later. It could have been sooner but I did not want it sooner. On installation day, I again received a text (no photos) saying they would be there soon. They were more punctual (but they had a window so they were within the window). They guys looked a little "rough" at 1st but they were very, very professional and friendly. They didn't slack off and they put stuff down to protect the areas. One guy was outside, one inside and I feel like they maximized their potential while here. It was supposed to be a 5 hour job. I think they did it in about 4 hours. The guy said to give it about 1 degree per 15 minutes to cool and I will tell you what, he was spot on. I didn't have to pick up a single screw, piece of tape, nothing. They asked for nothing and needed nothing. The unit is what I expected. It turns on an is cold. They said they will be back in 6 months and 12 months for a complimentary tune-up. I don't think you can go wrong with them. And the people that answered the phones the 3 or so times I called (from pre sale, post sale, and a question after the installation) all I received was prompt courteous service.
