Everyone was kind, organized, and seemed to truly care that guests were having a good time. You could tell they do this often and do it well. Parking was easy, everything was convenient, and the whole night flowed smoothly from ceremony to reception. Overall, it just felt like a fun, well-run wedding in a gorgeous spot. This is advertised as SPECIAL and has a premium rate, but compared to last year, the same event...truly a night and day difference! Last year they offered a choice of 2, salad, quiche, sandwich, soup. all full size and warm, followed by the expansive tiered tray which included the finger sandwiches and the desserts. First of all, the venue is spacious and works perfectly for a large event. The venue provided breakfast, lunch, and appetizers, and drinks everyday of the conference and the food was amazing. It was the best food I've ever had at conference. They had homemade potato chips and bread. Wonderful desserts and pastries. The first day we had salmon bowls with rice and veggies they were delicious! Everything is top notch and I hope they decide to hold next year's conference here.

Kira was on top of drinks at the bar and taking care of us and everyone had a blast. I will say that scheduling this event was very difficult and challenging with the person who I had initial contact with. It would take days or even weeks to get a response, I never knew what was happening and was deeply concerned with how the event was going to turn out due to her lack of communication - but these 3 made up for it and our group had a blast. It would be awesome to see some fresh updates to the space, but this is a great venue nonetheless.

They said that was "wedding season" and the number of people I was expecting, around 20, wasn't nearly enough because they charge by the number. I asked if they were seriously refusing to book me, and the man I was talking to said yes. He said I could have it if I wanted to pay $1,000 which is what they charge for weddings. Wow!! so, unless you are looking for something in the off season of what they consider their money making time of year, don't bother. They were rude. On another note, I was at the place for a summer BBQ. The people that run the facility have a house on the property. Not only did they come over to the party and help themselves to the food and beverages...one of them got sloppy drunk...they sat in their backyard watching the party and the invited guests. The people having the party didn't know them and didn't invite them to be a part of it, they just included themselves as guests. Very weird.

It is a great facility with an excellent location and very accommodating staff. I've been involved in hosting two find raisers here for a charter school and a community radio station. I also attended a holiday work party. As a host, I had everything I needed to pack the house for a dinner in one case and a speech by a celebrity news anchor in the other. As a guest I found the space a little too bright for a festive gathering. I think the organizers just didn't know how to set up the lighting correctly because at the other events we took advantage of the accent lighting to highlight a speaker and information/book signing tables. Bar services are available through the sister company, the Modern Hotel. I wish the kitchen were bigger because I think it was a little hard for our caterer to plate up in the little space they have. The managers are supper helpful and flexible. And believe me, this is key when you are dealing with a chaotic events planning committee or a picky mother-in-law when you are planning your event or wedding reception!
