Ruby gave us a price of around $1300, which included two under mount sinks. Before 6-7-19, Ruby said she would come out to take a measurement. She was delayed several hours. She could not add half and quarter inches in her head...she said she is not good with numbers(?!) 6-17, Ruby texted, telling - not asking - that they would be installing on 6-24. I texted back that day won't work. Ruby called, scheduled it for 6-19 8am. No one showed up. I sent Ruby a text at 11:34am. An hour later she said they'd be there in 30 min. No apology. 1:30pm they arrived. One of the installers, (from a company called Rockford Marble in Elmhurst, which is partly owned by Stone Illusionz), ran out of the house. Apparently Stone Illusionz takes a rough measurement and tells Rockford Marble to cut the slab down, and then Rockford Marble does a final measurement when it's time to do the installation, and they cut it in the front lawn, then they install. The installer from Rockford Marble was telling me how Ruby doesn't know what she's doing, how her husband is even worse, how Ruby, "should never leave the office." He also tells me how lazy Ruby and her husband are and when they bring a sink to Rockford Marble they make an installer fetch it from their trunk. The installer continued to tell me how Ruby measured the countertop too small, so it was cut too small, and ordered sinks that are too large. We were never told what size sink the holes were cut for, we were only told, by the subcontracted Rockford Marble, that we needed, "smaller sinks." Then Ruby sent me a text: "...we will be installing the vanity on Monday. I will let you know the time on Saturday." The same 6-24 that I said would not work. I texted: "....Monday the 24th still does not work for us...". Instead of accepting that and finding another day, Ruby texts me twice asking me to call - trying to get me to agree to the 24th!! I felt that was unprofessional and disrespectful. Ruby texted the installation would happen 6-26, closer to 10am. They showed at 10:40am and later I noticed the sinks were tiny. When I asked who approved such a small sink, Ruby called and said it was Marty, our GC. I called the GC and he said he never would have approved it since it didn't go through him. So Ruby lied. Ricky from Best Buy Carpets and Granite came to our house and confirmed 18" undermount sinks would fit. He also pointed out that none of the marbling lines matched up. On 7-22 I asked Ruby to remind me who authorized 15" x 10" sinks. Ruby: " When my guys went the first time to install they said [my husband] was there and they showed him that besides the vanity being cut wrong the sinks are to big fir the cabinet. Then I got a text from Marty ...are the sinks too big. So I guess one of you spoke to Marty.Then I called my installers and they said yes the owner also saw and these sinks are big . That's when we went with the smaller sinks." We *never* were given a change order in writing stating the sinks would be that small. We were *never* told, nor was our GC the measurements of the new, smaller sinks. I texted Ruby back: "[GC] told me he never authorized smaller sinks. That you guys were working directly with us. My husband said he was never told the sinks would be only 15"...We had another company [verify] 18" sinks *will* fit in this vanity... We wouldn't have authorized [15" sink]. I would appreciate...a refund to cover the costs to go with a different company to fix this issue. When will you let me know about a refund?" Ruby's immediate response: "I dis agree that my guys are wrong! We have been installing for past 25 years. Unfortunately, I cannot issue any refunds." I want to also mention there were black lines on the countertop from the markings Stone Illusionz or Rockford Marble drew on it to cut the sink and to mark where the sinks would go. I have pictures of this. I have pictures of the ridiculously small sinks and how, even being careful, it was impossible to keep the water from splashing everywhere. Best Buy Carpets and Granite showed me how Rockford Marble put deep gashes underneath and how they don't install like that. They also showed me how Rockford Marble used filler and sloppily filled a hole in underneath, and how most of the brackets weren't really secure. Our experience with Stone Illusionz/Rockford Marble was that they are rude, unprofessional, sloppy, no attention to detail, a complete lack of customer service, oh, and they were $300 MORE than Best Buy Carpets and Granite, so they're also overpriced. I am so happy that I stumbled upon this store. The owners were very knowledgeable and understanding of my budget, never once pressuring me to spend extra. Their quote was extremely fair for a new granite countertop and even during a pandemic, were able to schedule a measurement within 2 days and install in a week and a half. The installers were late, but I am appreciative of Ruby for keeping me up to date on the situation. The installers did an excellent, clean, and thorough job. I was very impressed by Ruby's professionalism, and kind nature. My fiancee and I came in to shop around, trying to find a good price on quartz which had been difficult due to the expensive look we were going for. The Stone illusionz show room had dozens of samples from many top manufactures of quartz that we were interested in. They also carried some cabinets that allowed us to color match the sample on site which was very helpful. Plus, Ruby showed us the fancy sinks that would be included with a purchase at no charge, and even let me use the washroom (which was beautifully designed/decorated). Here is the best part. Ruby provided a great price and could have the quartz measured, fabricated and installed within 10 days! This was the worst decision we have ever made. I am giving this company 1 star because the granite turned out great; however, we had 4 sinks replaced and they were all leaking. It took them 4 visits to get them corrected. Lastly, the backsplash project was and is a nightmare. The grout is cracking after only a few days all along my back countertop and along the entire side where the sink is. Kevin came to "correct" cracked tiles and grout and was nothing but arrogant, inconsiderate, and unable to complete the job to my satisfaction. I will now have to hire a new contractor to put caulk instead of grout where the two planes meet (which should have been done in the first place). This experience was a complete nightmare. Run the opposite direction. This project was finished 2 weeks ago and the grout looks like it was done 10 years ago. read more

We recently had granite countertops and a sink installed by Stone Ilusionz and absolutely love them! The entire experience was pleasant and professional. When I first visited the showroom, Ruby greeted me with a smile and was able to quickly provide an estimate based on drawings I provided and slabs that I had already selected. She arranged for the slabs to be picked up and transported to their fabrication shop and even met us there to ensure we were happy with the slab quality, and to discuss how and where the granite would be cut to optimize the overall flow of the stone. The countertops were fabricated and installed a couple days later (9 business days after my initial visit to their showroom). The piece for our island was rather large and the installers did a great job carefully and creatively maneuvering it through the front door. After installation, we noticed a couple minor issues and contacted Ruby. She arranged to have the installers return and they were able to quickly remedy the issues on site. I thanked Ruby and she kindly replied, "No problem. It's my job and my pleasure to make sure the customer is satisfied." That goes a long way in my book, given that companies who truly value customer service / satisfaction are few and far between these days! Overall, I would highly recommend Stone Illusionz. We had kitchen counters & a sink installed by them Ruby was so patient & understanding of our many concerns. She was very receptive to our calls & questions. We went to Stone Illusionz to look into new counter tops. We initially met with Ruby and she could almost read our minds in regards to what we wanted. That was refreshing!! We then went out to their warehouse to look at a full slab or quartz to make sure we liked it as a much larger piece. It was exactly what Ruby showed us at her show room. We then started the process to order the slab and have it installed.. Her crew came to our house the following day after picking the slab to take the initial measurements for the layout of our kitchen.. The crew came to install the counter tops approximately 10 days later and it was all done in about 3 hours from demo to completion.. They even scheduled the plumbers to come and install a new faucet and reinstall a separate water faucet. I hired Stone Illusionz to remodel my kitchen, living room and bathrooms. Once they took my money it was a total nightmare. Quality of work was awful and they didn't have any experienced people. The porcelain tile floors were terrible. My cabinets didn't fit after they took all the measurements. Please Beware of this company it's a rip off and they are liars that make you feel like they know what they are doing and don't have a clue. I had to hire another contractor to do the quality work and had experience. Not Good & Very Disappointed Customer. You will find yourself in a lawsuit with this company. First off, I am not one who writes reviews. But I was so impressed with Ruby and Stone Illusionz that I wanted to take the time to praise them. I recently remodeled my kitchen,(counters and Backsplash.) I had no idea the amount of time I would be spending trying to find a reliable company. My mother and I visited several storefronts and talked to many contractors. I was frustrated and about to ditch the entire project, and then by chance I went on line and found stone Illusionz. I called at 6pm on a Friday and was met with a very pleasant voice, instead of saying come in on Monday, Ruby told me she would be happy to wait for me to get there. I was so happy to walk in and find actual slabs of Granite, not squares, but slabs! I was able to now visualize whites vs creams and narrow down the type of granite I wanted ( this in itself was a miracle !) Once Ruby saw I was struggling with design concept she quickly came to the rescue and offered me her opinion, she was never pushy, just helpful! We decided I needed to go look at white granites, and the very next day ( Saturday) I met her at a warehouse to start my search. Although I found 2 slabs of River white granite that same day, Ruby went out of her way to go the extra mile to find a cleaner slab. I was on a budget, so it didn't end there, she also found a jumbo slab which cut my cost a TON! I have two children under the age of 4yrs old, although Ruby wanted me to go with her to view slabs, she understood my schedule and went to several granite warehouses to take pictures from every angle, and waited for me to reply, sometimes having to wait 20 mins because I was tending to my girls! She spent two hours designing the layout of my granite so I'd only have one seem that isn't even visible !!!!! You nailed it Ruby! Prior to meeting Ruby, I was met with either snooty designers that's didn't care about my small remodel, or shady contractors that wanted to rip me off. I got fair quotes from the start with Stone Illusionz. Even though my project wasn't huge, she took the time to make me feel like I was her only client. She also worked with the contractors to lower their prices!!! Once construction began, Ruby came to my house every day to check on the project. My daughters are still asking for Ruby! As a mother of two young babies, I can't tell you how helpful it was working with a mother that understood my schedule. As you can read I have only great things to say !!!! I was very nervous about doing a remodel because I had a bad experience with a contractor before but Ruby assured me that I would be completely satisfied with their work. Recently, we replaced our kitchen counter(laminate) with the granite slabs and I am so gld that I went to them and it was so easy and Ruby made the entire process appear so simple and she asked for our range, showed the slab sample and asked us if we would go and pick a slab and the week we picked the sample, the same week someone came and installed it. We replaced our dark green granite counter tops with a lighter quartz. We also replaced our old tile back splash and replaced with new tile. Stone Illusionz was great to work with in selecting the color of both the counter tops and tile. The installation took two and a half days. The first day the old counter tops were removed along with the sink and garbage disposal and new quartz tops installed. Paul and Tony did a wonderful job with the entire installation. They are both very meticulous and clean up well. I would advise putting old sheets over adjacent furniture as there is some dust. The second day the old tile and attached wall board was removed from the counter tops to the cabinets and new wall board installed. The tile was then adhered to the new wall board. The third day grout was applied to the tile and the new sink and new garbage disposal installed and touch up paint applied. Each day during the project I was called by one of the owners, Ruby, to check to be sure everything was going well. This project has transformed our kitchen. We couldn't be more pleased. The new deep sink that is included at no charge looks far better than our old one and the garbage disposal is a heavy duty unit. Stone Illusionz does a quality job at a very good price.
