Everyone was courteous, friendly, and professional. I am very happy that I got all of that and with a high quality product and great price. I could give you a long list of stores and contractors that could learn from you. Thank you so much. Linda B.

okay, I'll update here since they finally installed the small granite piece for my stove backsplash…read moreand accommodated my request for first thing in the am. The 3 guys who arrived called ahead 20 min, and were super careful to measure thrice and keep measuring and using a level as the piece dried. I felt very confident watching their concern to get the piece on the backsplash in an attractive and straight manner. They could not have been more professional. I'll say it once and say it again: when you deal with the salespeople at The Granite Corporation (that's their real name not "Granite") you kind of doubt that they have a clue about what they're selling. I don't know what will happen and it takes too long for them to finish up a sale, even though they mean well. However, when the measure & install team shows up, those are the people who really know what they're doing. They are top pros. I asked Sam, my sales person, how are they going to make sure the glue holds on a vertical application, and she did not know. I asked her if I should cover my stove, and she said, don't worry (of course, I did). When they showed up, they scored the back of both my backsplash and the new piece, so more glue would be applied. They applied glue all around the perimeter (not visable). They taped the piece in place and I put a spongy rug on my stove (just in case). They said, glue sets in 10 minutes and they held it that long, and it is good to go in a couple hours when I can take off tape. I would have liked to know that there would be a little granite dust in my kitchen ahead of time, to have removed everything from countertops, but they did hold up a vacuum while they scored my backsplash, so I cannot say that I see any dust (besides my own). They scored the new piece outside my house. The treasure here is the cutting, measuring & install team. They are premium craftsmen, very experienced and know how to communicate with the public. They're the ones who should be selling the granite!

However, the day of the install, his guys were over an hour late. Ok I'll let that go. One installer asked the "boss" about measurements, and he measured the stove opening several times. The "boss" said there was plenty of room. They did a seemingly fabulous job ! My husband even gave them a huge tip. I asked them to leave the stove out as I wanted to paint behind it and the adjoining wall. When the painting was complete I asked my husband to help me push it back. It didn't fit. Ok. Maybe it did, but there was not one millimeter of wiggle room. I pull my appliances out several times a year to clean and that wasn't going to be happening with the tightness of the stove. We were afraid to even try as it would have to be perfectly straight while being pushed back or something was going to get scratched or gouged. Then there's the issue of the faucet hole, which was cut crooked so now my faucet sits to the right. After calling the GC he contacted the company. The man who answered the phone was NOT Bob. I wish I would have gotten his name. He made me feel as if it were an inconvenience for them and "lucky for me" they had a cancellation. Well. Yes. I wanted my stove sitting in the middle of my kitchen all weekend ! He continued to make excuses for the hole, and then blamed the plumber for the crooked install of the faucet, after saying they knew nothing of plumbing, but admitted the hole was quite possibly crooked. I don't want excuses. We hire professionals expecting a professional job. I certainly hope this gets fixed today. Until then, they only get 3 stars. Continued.....Well, I'm dropping my rating to two stars. When a customer who is paying over $5000 for a custom countertop calls with a problem, and "Darin" acts like he's doing ME a favor by fixing their mistake ?? Yea. We have a problem. I would have been a lot more satisfied with, "I'm so sorry, Mrs. B, we'll take care of "our" mistake and make it right. Nope. Didn't happen. Darin sent a crew over to grind my counter in the middle of my kitchen.....can you say 1/2" dust over my new furniture and throughout my clean house, even in the cabinets ??!!! No one mentioned the mess it would create, and that maybe I should cover things. I may be naive, but I assumed in someone's home, they would have a tool that sucked the dust as they cut. To top it off. They didn't bring the correct fitting to bore the hole straight for the faucet. I again called Darin, who once again, was the rudest man I've ever encountered in customer service. "I SAID we'd fix it and we will ! But it'll have to wait until Monday !" He never gave us a time frame, nor did they call ahead on Monday to tell us they were coming. They were supposed to wait for our general contractor to get there. And after ALL that ??? The hole is now too big for my faucet :-/ Ive called two plumbers and even a plumbing supply company, and they're all stumped. Seems my faucet won't be able to be installed now after all ? Who is going to pay for THIS ?? A new faucet ? Another plumber ? So glad my local cabinet company chose this company to do business with. (Sarcasm) I'm not sure if Darin is an owner, but he certainly has no business being in customer service. What should have been a smooth, one day affair, has taken days, frustration, destruction extra money, and I'm still not sure what will happen with my expensive faucet. EPIC fail, Award Custom Countertops.

Davan installed our new quartz countertops on 08/27/2025 after shopping around for several months…read more We ended up selecting quartz countertops from MSI. Some helpful hints based on our experience: 1. A big countertop dealer like MSI, located in Elk Grove Village, has a very large showroom where you can see the full countertop slabs. We had some preferences based on the web site pictures and the little quartz samples, but ended up selecting a different slab once we were in the showroom. You really want to see the full countertop slabs before your decision is finalized. 2. We were really disappointed with the Home Depot service, which is The Countertop Factory - Midwest. There was an extremely hard sell visit to our house and a take-it-or-leave it price. 3. Many quartz countertop installation services want you to select quartz they already have in stock. Davan let us shop around and we selected an MSI countetop, which MSI already had in stock. Our job therefore proceeded quickly from final slab selection to installation (less than two weeks). 4. I was unnecessarily nervous about our kitchen tile backsplash when our old formica countertops were replaced with new quartz countertops. We wanted to retain the old kitchen backsplash. That was not a problem and the installation occurred smoothly.
