A huge screened in porch with awesome rocking chairs and a perfect view of Lake Cassadaga. The energy of this space is indescribable. The owners have spared no expense in caring for their guests. Their "Ragdoll" cat Blu, will also shower you with love. I will only ALWAYS stay here when in Lily Dale, Ny!!!

Joseph and Craig are wonderful accommodating hosts and their home is beautiful. I felt welcomed, cared for, and even included (which was an unexpected surprise). Some of the best moments from my trip were simply chatting with the hosts around the home or on the screened porch. As far as amenities, I do not know of another Lily Dale guest house that offers nearly as many. Beyond the air conditioning, my room had a mini-fridge with bottled water and coffee creamer, a Keurig coffee maker with mugs and fixings, and a flat-screen TV complete with Netflix access! The beds are the most comfortable in the Dale! If that's not amazing enough, Craig put fresh flowers on my nightstand when I arrived. I was also pleased to learn that some of the guest rooms will be upgraded with private bathrooms. If it's not obvious already, I know EXACTLY where I'll be staying during my visit next season. Thank you, Joseph, Craig, (and Blue!) for sharing your home with me and treating me like a queen. Wishing you the best and looking forward to seeing you again soon!

We called ahead and picked up our order at 11 - Pepperdew cheese bread, breakfast sausage strudel, and two romaine salads with chicken. As we drove home, the food smelled so good that we couldn't resist starting before our arrival. The bread was incredible - pockets of cheesiness in each buttery, savory chunk. The sausage strudel was similarly scrumptous - a savory salvo of brunch fare's best. Finally, the romaine salads provided a healthy palette cleanser - tender chicken, pear, blueberry, walnut, and blue cheese crumbles with spiced pear vinaigrette... every mouthful came together perfectly. Saturday brunch takeout is well worth the drive, from the Southtowns or even the city. Enjoy! Menu at - https://www.facebook.com/RetreatInEden/

We even drove right past it the first time - when they say it used to be a church, they aren't kidding. Marienthal itself is three different pieces - the church is absolutely beautiful, and has been converted into a large reception hall. Behind the church is a beautiful little patio with a fireplace where we were able to have breakfast the next day. The parsonage next door was renovated into a number of guest rooms - the room we were originally in was the smallest of them, but had a beautiful attached bathroom, TV and was still plenty of room for two people. Lastly, there was a building (which I believed housed nuns originally), that has been converted into a bit of a retreat centre. There were a half-dozen or so double rooms with a full kitchen upstairs, and a large meeting area downstairs with another great kitchen, big screen TV with satellite, and lots of couches. We even had access to a great little jacuzzi in the back. This place is an absolute gem in the middle of nowhere. There's a little grill next door if you want to grab some food, but otherwise there is almost nothing in the immediate vicinity. You can drive about half an hour if you're looking for things to do, but if you really want to just get away in peace and quiet, where you know you won't be disturbed, this is absolutely the place to do it. Location and buildings aside, the hosts are really what makes this place special. Both of them go way out of their way to be accommodating. Louise's breakfast was very likely the best breakfast I've ever had in my life. Homemade apple turnovers, local sausages, and the fluffiest, cottage-cheese pancakes that still make my mouth water. And Vinnie is a very entertaining fellow to talk to - he has absolutely no shortage of hilarious stories to tell. The two of them were great to have as hosts. The next time we need a quiet getaway, there's zero doubt about where we'll end up.

There is no wi-fi and cell service can be a little spotty in the area so be warned about that. It's a perfect getaway and I'd love to stay here again.

Our reservation in the Moose cabin was for the last 3 nights of their season…read more Upon arrival Denise greeted us and showed us into the cabin. It was just as represented on the website...very nice. When I questioned what the fragrance was in the cabin, Denise said it was a plug-in air freshener. I asked if she would unplug it, as I was sensitive to fragrances. She opened the closet door (where it was hidden) and unplugged it. She said it was a mouse deterrent, but we didn't give it a second thought. The second night of our stay we were kept up by the sound of mice in the wall starting at 2:30 am. Needless to say we didn't want to stay a third night and lose another night's sleep. When Sean came with the muffins that morning, I spoke to him about the mice and said we wouldn't be staying. He immediately said we would not get any refund. He also said that I had been complaining since I got there!! All I did was ask that the air freshener be unplugged! He said he wasn't going to loose $200 because of a mouse. This was not a rustic cabin by any stretch. It was very nice. You just don't expect mice in the walls. He wasn't interested in making any adjustment at all. Maybe a partial refund? I wonder if they were just plain tired from a long season of renting. I wouldn't recommend staying, unless you sleep well with mice and enjoy the smell of sulphur in your bath water.
