I contacted the owner and he blamed it on someone in the apt there. The recycling was never picked up or dropped off for the entire month. Fast forward to last week. Police came in several times when the owner returned. It was apparent after seeing him with Mike's hard drink in hand in the morning, that's the problem. This guy drives the tractor then and smashes a bunch of things including a picnic bench. I was scared he was going to hit my RV when he drove it. Then he starts trying to fix the road himself (it was fine when he came back). He starts dumping dirt all over it. Pete fixes it again after that. Oh yeah the dog park, they didn't put in a swing gate so the dog park is way overgrown and they can't get a mower in. Who wants to take their dog into a tick park? Then comes Friday and we see him go outside in the morning during the daylight and take a poop outside in public (bathrooms are across the street from him). Fast forward to when we are trying to leave and he's pouring mud all over the roads. Thankfully he didn't cover the one side and we were able to get out. The campground owner needs rehab, 100%. I don't feel he's a bad guy, just stuck in a drunken stupor. This is a quiet, no-frills campground. We never had any issues with the water electric or any hook ups. We definitely did not drink the water there as we never drink campground water anyway. Sites are pretty level. It rained heavy a few times and our site stayed pretty dry. As long as the owner is not present, things are ran and look great.

Rates are competitive. The grounds and facilities are meticulously maintained. Shower rooms are very clean. We leave our travel trailer here and come several times a month for a few days. That is one way to cope with the fuel crunch and not have your RV/TT sit in your driveway unused. I would recommend Misty Mountains without reservation.

They offered hay rides and cider and donuts by their bon fire the first night we were there. Almost all of their activities are included. They charge a fee for their zip lines. They offer free pedal bike usage alongwith boat usage. It is conveniently located to Niagara Falls. They offer late check-in and even check in for folks who don't have a reservation, if they have availability Saturday morning the store opened at 9 AM a little late for us since we were on the road by 845. Wechecked in just after 6, and a very kind gentleman advised us our keys were in the cabin and it was unlocked. I should mention we travel with two large dogs, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, our best boy is 9 but his compadre Annie is an8 month old hooligan. on entering the cabin, we found it to be immaculate. Linens were snowy white, bedbug check was negative (I always worry), stovetop, refigerator, and microwave were sparkling clean, all the furnishings were pristine. Bathroom was totally clean and sanitized. This is a 28 foot deluxe, is supposed to sleep 6. There is a tiny bunk alcoveon the left, very difficult to make the beds up. the central area features a table, four chairs, a sofa (bed) and the small kitchen area, fridge, two burner cooktop, sink and microwave. zero counterspace. on top of the fridge are 1 small shelf and a top shelf, with a single serve Keurig, four K Cups to start, and dried coffee condiments. it is hard to reach and operate, but it's there, and we had brought our own coffepot, so no matter. the kitchen has drawers and cabinets equipped with everything needed, glasses, mugs, dishtowels, silverware, plates, bowls, pots and pans (3). The bathroom is tiny but came with abundant towels, washcloths, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash. the tub itself is miniscule and sits well up off floor level. Use extreme caution getting out, because the floor is not where you think it should be... on the right of the central area is a queen bedroom. Bed is comfortable and lotsof pillows are provided. All the rooms in the cabin have pocket doors. There is a tv over the table area but the cable selection is a bit basic....but yes, you are supposed to be camping. the campground itself is outstanding. great selection of sites, landscaping is well kept and beautiful throughout. seems to be plenty for the kids to do. Three pools, one indoor. Mining Co to sift through gem bags, craft cabin, nice playgrounds , bike rentals. Dog friendly? Yes. There are three " dog parks" withinthe campground. One does not deserve the name as it barely qualifies as a dog crate, it's about 6 ft x 6 ft. And it is so adjacent to an actual campsite you have to go on the sit in order to access it. There is a mid sized, about 30 x 40 feet between the big pavillion and the playground which is better. The largest, maybe 30 x 100 feet is way in the back corner behind some primitive tent sites. It is large enough for big dogs to run and play. However, the gate latch is broken so you have to tie it shut with a leash. Camp store is terrific. Staff are competent and pleasant.the place feels like you are actually out in nature even though it is nestled in a high traffic urban tourist area. Highly recommend!

It has lots of…read moreamenities for the kids including heated pool, interactive splash pad, Pickle Ball/Basketball courts, Gaga Ball, fishing pond (for beginners), trail down to Genesee River, etc. They offer river tubing, but River has always been too low to go. "Stocked" pond is also limited. The family cabins have all the basics you need if you don't have an RV, but want a quick getaway. They just built a new enclosed pavilion and have wood fire pizzas on the weekends. We're already booked for next year!

Trout Run is by far our #1 choice to continue to return to. There is so much to do. We began camping here when our kids were young and liked the pool, the mining station, the wagon & train rides. Now they are all tweens and teens. All still love the pool and their focus has changed to wanting to float the river, playing Gaga ball, going to the activities such as candy bar bingo on their own, etc. Sites are huge. Good electric and sewer. Owner is very friendly. I really like the way he invests back in the campground. Always improving and expanding. Trout Run is truly top notch. As with all the pros, some things are to be aware of: 1. WiFi is absolutely horrendous. After years of issues with the WiFi, my advice for you is to consider this place having no WiFi. Years and years of camping here, it has yet to work. Yes, we are camping. However, having an RV means being inside when it rains. No working WiFi is just awful for a long night of torrential downpours. 2. Pro and a con - the rules are not monitored. It's nice not to have security breathing down people's necks about every little thing. Trout Run let's people breathe and relax. The downside - people speeding through the back road near the field, including the campground's own bus. People can see children playing kickball in the field or axe throwing next to the shed and still speed by at unreasonable speeds. 10-15 year olds driving the golf carts around. Yes. The agreement says 18+ but you clearly see young children driving them around with no regard for other people or knowing the 'rules of the road'. I saw one cart in particular almost hit multiple children on bikes. The campground doesn't monitor this. As every year I've been here - kids in the pool without a parent. Rules are not enforced. As a parent, I can't imaging allowing my child to swim unsupervised- but alas it has happened every single year for years. This means kids jumping in over your heads into the pool. I'm surprised people haven't been hurt or worse, drowned.

The campground is wide open with a beautiful view of the lake. The grounds are kept immaculate and it is so quite and peaceful even though it's not very private. The bathrooms are clean and well stocked and the host was around even day checking on things. She was wonderful! We loved our stay and our campsite. Can't wait to be back!

The golf cart was fun to get around quickly and the other perks like the live music was a fun on a Saturday evening. The 80's band was very good and entertaining! Dan & I also played mini golf and strolled along the beach to take in the beautiful sunset. We brought our yoga mats to relax taking a class beachside. Food trucks were also parked by the tennis courts which made dinner or lunch a breeze. We talk about this experience often and can't wait to return!! Also cute shops such as "The Pie Guy" and brewery is near by! Great spring or summer get away option from Buffalo!

We never knew we need authorized to park at public washroom! Moreover, it's a resort and all vehicles went through security gate before entering into the resort. Isn't that Authorized ?! When we questioned about the infraction ticket, the receptionist brought our concern to head of security and she came back saying the head of security - Rob McDonald reduced the amount to $25. We asked why at first place we received the fined because we did not park at the owners driveway or roadside parking. There has no sign stating "Unauthorized vehicle will be fined" Or "No Parking" Or "Maximum 20 mins for parking" Or even "No overnight parking" whatsoever. We were told Rob had left. We told the receptionist we want to speak to him in person to get a clear picture what exactly we did wrong. We were told to come back next day. We went back to office 4 times in total during our 4 nights stay and Rob McDonald refused to see us as well as give us a valid explanation what exactly "Unauthorized Parking" means that he was charging us for. The unjustified reason given is not up to normal standard. On our last talked to another receptionist, she said we cannot park if there is sign saying "No Parking" or "Cart Only". We went back to the public washroom and took a video wanted to show Rob that there has no such sign(s) at all. Again, Rob is busy and the receptionist gave us his email address asking us to email him to schedule a time to meet to discuss our concern. We sent him email the same day around noon time and we have not heard from Rob McDonald even after we checkout two days later. The management is absolutely disrespectful and unprofessional like many other customers experienced. You cannot charge customers on something you cannot justify! To us, it shows they are so desperate to charge anything out of vacationers! We are new to the resort. In the welcome booklet, it says "Re-Book and get 20% off". We were excited and thinking of booking again (by extending few more days) until this incident happened. Until today (over a month), no email from Rob telling us what does it meant by "Unauthorized Parking" at the public washroom parking. Upon searching on the web, we realized we are not the first one who have been charged for parking at public area. We saw the management replies stating "We do not permit parking on the beach (for environmental care) or along the road (to avoid traffic congestion). Guests should park only in the marked lots."... What exactly does it mean? We did not see any "Marked lots" stating for CAR only ... we did see "RV Parking" and "Cart Only" ... It's reasonable to think the rest of the "parkings slots" are meant for CARS ... Right? If you do not permit to park on beach public parkings or roadside, why even put on parking slots divider / lines? It seems like another lame excuses. If you do not want people to park at public washroom or public area, you need to put up a sign. But again, its absurd people need to get permit to park at public washroom! We parked the car at the public washroom at around 11:40 ish am and the ticket was issued at 12:18pm!!! We are still waiting for Rob McDonald response. How exactly should vacationers knows where to park and where not to park when there has no clear sign(s) at public parking area? To Management, if you need, we do have video showing there has no sign or warning about parking at the washroom area.

Very pretty campground; awesome fishing, great bands, fun activities and extremely peaceful at night. Beautiful star lit skies! So glad we became seasonals (awesome price too). Can't wait until 2024 season!
