Joseph and Craig are wonderful accommodating hosts and their home is beautiful. I felt welcomed, cared for, and even included (which was an unexpected surprise). Some of the best moments from my trip were simply chatting with the hosts around the home or on the screened porch. As far as amenities, I do not know of another Lily Dale guest house that offers nearly as many. Beyond the air conditioning, my room had a mini-fridge with bottled water and coffee creamer, a Keurig coffee maker with mugs and fixings, and a flat-screen TV complete with Netflix access! The beds are the most comfortable in the Dale! If that's not amazing enough, Craig put fresh flowers on my nightstand when I arrived. I was also pleased to learn that some of the guest rooms will be upgraded with private bathrooms. If it's not obvious already, I know EXACTLY where I'll be staying during my visit next season. Thank you, Joseph, Craig, (and Blue!) for sharing your home with me and treating me like a queen. Wishing you the best and looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Guests are greeted with ice tea and brownies, and offered s'mores around a fire-pit at night. The panoramic view of Lake Ontario offers unparralled vistas of sunrises and sunsets. Sat for 2 hours of blissful serenity enjoying the lake breezes, and gentle sound of water against the shore. Actor/Director Casey's very personal tour of the lighthouse was informative and charming as he regaled us with stories of keepers of the past century and the maritime history of the light as we climbed the circular stairs to the top. An entirely unforgettable experience, we hated to leave.

Incredible attention to detail, very clean accommodations. Naturally, the hosts were very friendly and attentive. The Coleman room has a window on either side, one facing Lake Ontario, the other facing the beautiful front lawn. You can roll over and see the water in the morning. There's a small TV above the closet. Breakfast each morning was delicious and filling. Take the tour! The only thing to be mindful of is AT&T's signal is not strong inside the house.

I wanted to cry as we pulled out of the driveway to leave. We arrived earlier than check-in time and Vio, the owner was so nice to let us do so, though she was still cleaning. We enjoyed her company and her son Robert's. We only booked 4 days as we were coming back from a week in Toronto where husband had business, but now I wish we had stayed a few days more. The cottage has been lovingly decorated with antiques, beds are top quality pillow tops, and the place looks like a professional decorator lives here. Loved the pretty colors. We were there during a major heat wave and the A.C. units did a pretty good job keeping the place comfortable. The back bedroom was a bit warm one night, but we managed. The front porch is a pretty, quiet spot with a very comfy chair for lounging and watching boats go by. We enjoyed using the free WIFI to send emails from the porch as well as the nice backyard, equipped with BBQ, pond, table, chairs & umbrella. Only an 8 min. walk to town center, near great restaurants (Fournous, Stone Road Grille & Lawrenceville Restaurant in Virgil) We got groceries at Valu-Mart in town and enjoyed cooking in Vio & Tibi's big, beautiful, well-equipped kitchen that opened up into pretty living room. We ate mostly at the kitchen island because we didn't want to dirty the dining room tablecloth, though in the end, my son somehow managed to do so (sorry Vio). I hope we made up for it by doing the towels and stripping beds and starting sheets. It was the least we could do as no cleaning fee charged. We felt price per night was right on target, especially since we could not have afforded more. We hope to return next May or June when cooler, with my mother-in-law as well. Trust me lucky renters, if you have a large or small family, a dog, a need for free WIFI, comfortable luxurious surroundings, two bathrooms and more than one T.V. this is the cottage you MUST rent! And don't forget....The Shaw Festival is here from April - November!!!! Great shows and musicals. Lovely theaters. See you very soon & Va multumim, Vio,Tibi & Robert!

It was just as represented on the website...very nice. When I questioned what the fragrance was in the cabin, Denise said it was a plug-in air freshener. I asked if she would unplug it, as I was sensitive to fragrances. She opened the closet door (where it was hidden) and unplugged it. She said it was a mouse deterrent, but we didn't give it a second thought. The second night of our stay we were kept up by the sound of mice in the wall starting at 2:30 am. Needless to say we didn't want to stay a third night and lose another night's sleep. When Sean came with the muffins that morning, I spoke to him about the mice and said we wouldn't be staying. He immediately said we would not get any refund. He also said that I had been complaining since I got there!! All I did was ask that the air freshener be unplugged! He said he wasn't going to loose $200 because of a mouse. This was not a rustic cabin by any stretch. It was very nice. You just don't expect mice in the walls. He wasn't interested in making any adjustment at all. Maybe a partial refund? I wonder if they were just plain tired from a long season of renting. I wouldn't recommend staying, unless you sleep well with mice and enjoy the smell of sulphur in your bath water.
