The winery has a ton of places to sit outside if the weather is nice. There are firepits near the creek, areas on the grass next to the old truck, and some seating outside of the tasting trailer as well. However, if the weather is cold or rainy, there is not space inside for you to sit. They had igloos that you can rent, but they are not cheap. We paid $60 for 2 hours, but got to be out of the rain. The wine was pretty good and had a wide range of styles so that no matter if you liked dry or sweet, there was something for you to try. There was a packed charcuterie so if you plan on staying for awhile, it's best if you bring food with you. read more

Stone Pillar Vineyard and Winery is a beautiful property with an amazing staff and amazing wine. I tried the Chocolate Sweetheart, Peach Mango, Winter Wine, and the Hofftoberfest. All of them were amazing, although the Winter Wine or Chocolate Sweetheart were my favorite for sure. They have good prices for bottles of wine. I came here with a group of friends and we picked grapes in the morning and they showed us the process of how they make the wine. Everyone working here was super helpful and very nice. They have plenty of seating and space for events. George was very experienced, had lots of technical knowledge, and was very friendly. Emily helped supervise in the field, which she did a great job of, and answered many questions about the grapes and other various things. Aiden was super relatable, hardworking, and experienced. Avery was also very hardworking, and gave some helpful tips on picking the grapes while we were out in there field. read more

Attended the Smores Fest today at Stone Pillar Vineyard & Winery and had a concerning experience. I showed up with my service dog, clearly labeled with a service dog vest. A manager ran towards me and said that dogs weren't allowed. She was followed by a random dog who charged at us, attacking my dog and bumping into me. The manager took the dog away and did not say anything nor return. Luckily, some kind folks nearby offered help when they saw me and my dog were hurt. I was told the dog belonged to the owner. My dog has a puncture. Therefore I went to the building to get their dogs shot records and the manager showed them but didn't let me keep them. Then the owner arrived and didn't even talk to me. I asked for the records and he rolled his eyes, obviously disinterested that his dog just attacked another animal. He begrudgingly allowed me to take a photo of the records. The entire staff didn't seem to care about the dangerous situation with their untrained, aggressive dog being loose on a commercial property. There were a LOT of small children on the property. There were no apologies, no concerns, and was overall pretty disappointing. Safety and understanding should matter. If it were a child instead of my dog, it would've been a big problem. In summation, they allow an untrained dog to roam loose on the property and take no accountability for the dogs actions. read more

How awesome is it to have a vineyard here in the Kansas City area. My first time here. It's not too far out of town either. As you enter the place, parking is to the right. Walk up and check in the table outside. Food truck on the premise. Seating in the pavilion is where the bands perform. There is also seating in the patio and lawn which would be a nice option if you want to be able to sit and talk to your friends while listening to music. And, what's nice outside is the they also have a fire pit. Tonight just happens to be cool enough for it. There's a bar outside and inside the pavilion. You can tell they run a pretty good operation. It's a fun atmosphere. Good service. I would recommend if you like wine and live music. read more

I come here often, as they bring in really good local live bands and acoustics. During the warm months, it is magic to sit out amongst the vines. The pavillion has much more limited seating, especially during the cold months - so check the website first for table reservations. This is a historic farm, from the Civil War era (!), with descendants still holding ownership. They are good people. Look for George, and ask him about his family/land's history. How did I know this place didn't exist? My husband I came on a weekday afternoon and the place was empty! We essentially had a private tasting of their wines and we felt very special as all the attention was on us. The women was helpful and knew her wines. We went to visit Stone Pillar last Saturday around 11:am. We had our son with us, so we went early to avoid the crowd. Live music started at 2:pm. They had some pop up shops that day that sold jewelry, candles, T-shirts, etc.. Food truck was also available. When you drive up, parking lot consists of gravel and grass area. Pretty big parking area. Walking towards the front area, don't forget to take a picture with the props they set up. It's super cute! When walking up to the front area, you'll find a stand to your left that you can order wines, etc.. and a small building just for employees only. Towards the middle are patio seatings. To your right is another bigger building for wine tasting. We wanted to do the wine tasting. That day they had a special on the wine tasting for $10 per person with 6 wine samples. We got two wine tastings. Don't forget to ask for some crackers. It helps to clear your pallet when you eat it after every new wine you taste. Our favorites were the Hofftoberfest and the Joceaux. We ordered a bottle of Joceaux to enjoy there & ordered lunch at the food truck. The employees are friendly but very busy and the place was kid friendly. Next time I visit, I'll make reservations for the wine tasting. They do have 2 cute friendly dogs that roam the area. We really enjoyed our visit. read more

First time visitor at Stone Pillar located in Olathe, KS. Unfortunately it was a limited experience due to COVID but I look forward to going back to get the full experience. I ordered a blackberry wine slushy and it was amazing! We were with a large group and I was able to sample a variety of wines but my favorite is the "Joceaux" red wine. A little more sweet but was a good summer red. I also tried their Chardonnay that was pretty good. They have a Peach Mango wine that wasn't my favorite but if you like moscato or sweet wine you will love. Taste exactly like Welches peach juice. The inside isn't currently open and tastings aren't open but I'm curious what the inside is like. They had outside seating with live music which was nice. The vineyard is beautiful and right by the seating. I would recommend giving it a try some afternoon read more

I love this place! I went there for the first time with friends. The place is beautiful and spacious. There are a lot of seating options inside or outside. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. My husband talked with one of the owners who shared that it was originally farm that has been in the family for generations. I'm a dog lover, and I got to visit with both big dogs that walk the property. I had a wine slushy and we got nachos at the food truck. Then we listened to a band. Note that this review is for one of their Friday night concert events. What a great time on a Friday night. $5 for a flight of 5 wines was a great way to start. While the food truck wasn't my cup of tea (sorry Taco's Food Truck, the nachos and tacos were very 2-3 stars at best), the wine was pretty great and the band (Boomerz Band) was impressive. Speaking of the wine, these opinions are mine and you may think/taste completely differently...The Chardonnay and Cayuga are just about on the same level as vodka, definitely not very flavorful and kinda rough super dry white wines. The Joceaux (A+ name btw) is a medium body semi-sweet red that's decent. The Redneck Rose is a little lighter yet with a little more sweetness, but it's still not to be confused as a true sweet wine. The Hofftoberfest is a good medium body white, but really lacked in the finish. The all-stars here are the Pink Catawba, the Cabernet, and the seasonal Pumpkin Spice (Hofftoberfest with a better finish). The Pumpkin Spice is only available via tap, but they sell empty bottles that can be filled with it. If you're looking for a fun Friday night event, this could very well be your cup of...wine. read more

Spent the evening with my family here and by far has the best view of the sunset i have seen since I moved to Olathe. This place is a little piece of heaven for me. They have the best wines I've ever tasted. The Joceaux, Peach mango & Blackberry were my favorite from our tasting . I've actually gone twice since my visit just to pick up bottles for home & I've never done that before with any other winery I have been to . They have two very sweet puppy's roaming the vineyard for kids to play with while you enjoy the scenery and your beverages & also offer wine slushees of different flavors ( I however wasn't a fan of the slushees) they were to sweet for me but if wines not really your thing there's that option for you. They give you pita chips to munch on - or just feed then to the puppy's to become your best friends and have them follow you around everywhere like I did (: Totally a perfect date spot! However, the Rose wine slush I had was not that great especially for the $10 price tag, and the service was pretty slow. They're quite generous with their wine flights, compared to other wineries. $6 for 6 tastings, and each time they fill your glass for the tasting, it's about 1/3 full, definitely worth it. First time visiting this winery. It isn't warm enough yet for the outside area to be entertaining / full of people. Sadly. However, the small store was open and still full of people. My friend and I did wine tasting because I had never had their wine before. It was $6 for 6 samples. They had quite a few red, white and rose(?) choices. Honestly after sipping the 6 samples, I was feeling pretty warm!! The girl pouring our samples gave us a quick run down of each wine as she poured it, mainly what we could expect in the flavor. My friend and I stayed and each bought a bottle of wine to ourselves (oops). We also bought some cheese and meat! It was a fun little time. Wow I had no idea this place existed! My Aunt took me here on a weekend night for live music and obviously WINE. We had a great tasting and our host allowed us to try many other samples that weren't on the tasting menu. The wine wasn't incredible by any means and kind of gave me a headache but let's be real, that won't stop me. We waited in line for quite some time to get food from the food truck which was a nice touch by the winery. I'm not sure if I agree with them having a cover to just sit outside of the band's stage room, but it is what it is! I had been driving past this place for ages always saying I should stop. Well, I finally found an excuse. You see, my girlfriend was being a champ by offering to pick my drunk ass up from a bachelor party in the wee hours of the morning, so I told her I would make her a nice dinner in exchange. Of course, no nice dinner on my table is complete without wine. At first I was just going to stop by the store for a standard bottle, but I decided to peel off K-10 a bit early and stop here. It was about 4pm on a weekday, so it was quiet. I like reds, but can also do whites. My girlfriend likes whites, but can also do red. Seeing as I am the bigger wine fan of the two, I figured I would try to accommodate her more, so I was on the lookout for a white. Deciding to taste a few first, I was poured by a very nice gent and given a little "cheat sheet" of the wines. The first white I had was a little dry for my girlfriend's tastes, I think, so I decided to move on. The second one was definitely sweeter, but had a nice, crisp taste, so I thought I would get that one. The gent in question poured me one more, a blush. Now, I don't normally like blush wines, but I enjoyed this one, and decided to go with it. Quickly rang up, I headed out with my bottle in hand for $18...maybe a bit high, and definitely higher than I would have paid at the store, but I am glad to support something local instead of a mysterious California or Washington or Australian vineyard. As Amanda mentions, this isn't Napa, this isn't Sonoma, this isn't even Temecula. This is suburban Kansas City. Considering that, this is a pretty cool and tasty place. read more

I've been here a grand total of 1 time for their extreme bingo night. What a fun time! First of all, when you arrive, you'll realize pretty quickly that the bingo night has some serious regulars and some hardcore groupies. Bingo starts at 7pm, but it will be hard to find seats after about 6:15. Ladies show up with boatloads of food and claim a table, so you're going to have to get there plenty early. I had two of the frozes, and oooooooo mannnnn they were good. Just delicious. I'm not even a Rose drinker, but I had a sample and it was fabulous. As for the game itself, it's really enjoyable. If you like music, you'll enjoy this evening. This is a great way to unwind and have fun with friends on a Wednesday. Check their calendar online, though, because it seems to average to about 3 Wednesdays per month, so it's not quite every week. read more

Wonderful service, but the wine wasn't up my alley. The girls who poured our wine tasting were very sweet and helpful. The wines, however, all had a very sour and woodsy aftertaste, or were way too sweet for my palette. There wasn't an in between. Wine slushies were quite low in alcohol content, but on the day that we went, slushies were 40% off, so I can't complain too much. They have multiple wine tastings, but I opted for the "you pick 6". Went to have tacos from Crave taco truck and finally try Stone Pillars cider after waiting an entire year only to be rudely greeted by the OWNER. Wanting to sit somewhere, my daughter asked where we could sit and eat since the tables stated "reserved". She also mentioned that we weren't staying for the concert. All I heard was "that's not my problem". Evidently it was "You're not buying wine from me it's not my problem. My daughter responded "my mom did buy something from you." He basically didn't want to help us because he THOUGHT we didn't buy anything. Sad that this was how we were treated. I purchased a growler of cider and pretty darn good too. We walk in and there is no one there but the owners and employees, which is no big deal even though it was pretty awkward. We start tasting some wine and while doing so I like to ask questions about wine. The woman pouring our wine, who is spilling it all over the place may I add, does not know any answers to my questions. She then points to a younger man working there and I repeat the question, "What makes this a German-style wine?" and he responds quite sarcastically "a German winemaker..." Wow, that was not quite what I was looking for. I figured he would actually answer my question, but he just ignored me and continued to stock the shelves. If you're going to start a business selling and making wine, you should probably promote it and be kind to your customers. They were just so rude and it really pissed me off. At that point I was definitely not going to buy any of their wine, but this was the first time I honestly did not like a single type of wine from a winery so refusing to buy from them was not difficult. The prices were much higher compared to the other wineries in the area as well. I don't know if the staff was having an off day or what when it comes to their customer service, but I do not recommend a visit here, or purchasing their wine. read more

We did not feel welcome; we actually felt like we were intruding on a "locals" winery. Weird. Other than the kid taking money to enter ($5), all of the staff were inside. Would have been nice if someone was in charge, and I don't know, directing efforts. Entertainment venue...needs WAY more seating and tables...lots of couples sitting at tables meant for six...thanks! Lovely grounds, convenient location. They have lots of events, music and dinners and it is somewhat kid-friendly. The wine is not great and quite over priced. They recently changed their tasting menu from a 4 flight of 2 oz pours to individual 1 oz pours. I was not a fan of the flight idea as it was very pricey to try the list. Now there are 1 oz pours ranging from $1-$3 which is quite ridiculous for the quality of wine. Why not have a flat tasting fee that is waived with purchase!?! The wine slushy is good but also pretty pricey at $9. Service depends on who is working and ranges from very sweet and welcoming to standoffish and elitist. There are wineries in Louisburg who do not charge for a tasting and allow you to try the entire list, they are worth the drive. Tip: most of their wines can be purchased at local liquor stores for $3-$6 less than onsite. read more
