After being a rental for 11 years, we've decided to move back into our house. We needed several things done: marble countertops cleaned and polished, a crack in the marble shelf in the shower repaired, grout repairs in the shower and around the kitchen sink, and kitchen granite cleaned and polished. I called and Jesse got back to me quickly. He told me he could do the work the very next day for 40% off since he was available. That was a savings of $400. I'll break it down... Marble countertops - 5 stars They are now shiny and water just beads up on them. Calcium deposits are mostly gone and they look good. Marble shelf repair - 5 stars He matched the color of the stone very well and the crack is barely visible. Fantastic job. Grout repair (shower) - 2 stars I told him the original color of the grout, and he pointed out that he would use a color to match the color it is now, which I thought we agreed was fine. But he used the original color and it doesn't match. It also doesn't seem to be filling the cracks he was supposed to fix. Grout repair (kitchen) - 5 stars Looks fine. And he used black sealer (instead of bone) between the stainless sink and the dark stone. I never realized that's the way it should have been done all along. Looks so much better. Granite cleaning - 3 stars The granite is clean, but the polish he used has a waxy finish that smears and is very hard to keep clean. I'm hoping this is a temporary problem. Tidiness - 3 stars He put down tarps everywhere he worked, and was very good with masking, but I think the tarps were dirty because the floors were quite dirty after he left, and there seemed to be some overspray in the kitchen where the tarps didn't cover. Time - 2 stars The job was supposed to take 8 hours, but ended up taking 10 hours. It was a very long day. Price - 10 stars Really appreciated the deep discount. read more

I had a crack develop in my granite countertop. i called around and talked to a few guys and Jesse was unique in responding quickly to texted photos, and promptly providing a complete, descriptive estimate (complete with 2-year warranty). His responses indicated he knew what he was doing, and that he really is interested in providing "superior service". His proposal included sealing the granite and backsplash, re-caulking the sink where it contacts the granite (a source of water that may have caused the crack) and redoing the grout/caulk at the backsplash. He works like a dentist, carefully, cutting a slightly wider crack to hold the epoxy, and drilling some very small holes at the ends of the crack to keep it from propagating (good engineering), and then filling it in with resin in 3 colors he custom mixes to match variations in the granite. Then he re-polishes the area with 6 different grits, leaving it gleaming. No one but me will ever see the repair, and I know where to look. He also pointed out to me, and filled at no extra charge, two significant chunks that had been knocked out of the underside edge of the granite at the sink, maybe by one of our heavy pots. The color match of the new grout/caulk joint at the backsplash is excellent too, something my original contractor never managed. I am a picky and involved customer, and when I asked him to drill a little deeper at the ends of the crack, he obliged even though it burned out two of his bits. He's a nice guy, committed to doing a beautiful job, responsive to emails and txts, and showed up on time. Of course, mask, shoe covers, drop cloth, plastic taped over all my wood cabinets, very thorough. read more

Our home had granite counter tops that need to be cleaned and sealed, granite floors that need to be thoroughly cleaned and sealed, and 35 year old cultured marble counter tops (in the baths) that needed to be polished and sealed. Stone Protech responded quickly to my quote request. They had no problem with the granite but pointed out that the cultured marble counter tops had numerous problems with age and quality, but they would do the best they could with them. Other people I contacted would not work with the cultured marble. The price I received from them was very reasonable. After accepting Stone Protech's quote, they showed up within a week and cleaned and sealed the granite cultured marble counter tops the first day and returned the second day to complete the floors. They worked beside our brand new carpets and newly painted walls and trim without any problems. The granite counter tops are beautiful again. the cultured marble counter tops are cleaned and sealed again (no more water stains), and the granite floors (and white grout between the tiles) look better now than when they were first installed. I am a Realtor who needed to prepare a home for sale in Palo Alto. The entire main floor of the home was polished stone tile that had discolored grout and stains from 10 years of family and dog traffic. The master bathroom floor also needed attention.
