We were blown away by the care and quality of work done by Caleb and his son for a very fair price. We had a few specific areas we needed to have re-tiled (a large fireplace and laundry / bathroom floors) and the quality of work from Caleb was outstanding. For our fireplace (which was previously done in a thick and uneven slate) Caleb re-surfaced the entire area and then laid out stacked subway tiles with high precision. The tiles had natural color variation and he was careful in ensuring we didn't have unsightly pockets of dark or light tiles and he was thoughtful about how to center the tile. He even mitred the edges around the firebox. We had previously redone an upstairs bathroom with a more traditional, high-end general contractor and their tile sub-contractor was significantly less thoughtful and skilled. We had to re-work much of the area because of unsightly patches of dark / light tile and poor alignment. I wish we had used Caleb instead! read more

I am extremely disappointed with Caleb's new grout. They are extremely nice people but lack the experience and expertise, and they ruined my pebble shower floor. I hired them for cracked grout, very little surface, and to clean the grout and seal it. They did not clean the grout at all, and sealed on top of it. I typically did a much better job with vinegar and baking soda, but they were supposed to be professionals and clean it very well. I let that go, orangy color, fine, they gave me excuses. The other detail is they told me it was better to fix cracking grout with this material that was basically rubber caulking mixed with grout. They had told me when I hired them that they would match the color. They did not match the color of the grout, they made it more of a gray. I said okay, fine, I let that go. Then they made the line very thick, not seamless as it was, literally looks like thick frame around shower door. I let that go. What they did was simple caulking gun pass to seal. I followed directions and let it dry. After a few days of showering I noticed the grout/caulking they had put was already cracking and coming off. They came back out and fixed it. Then after a few days it cracked again, called them again, and they were to come out 3rd time. Then I did research and found out that what they were using is cheap material. I had been quoted by another company who promised me a 7 year warranty because they used high quality material Epoxy grout. I made the mistake of going with Caleb's grout due to reviews and slightly lower price. But I made a huge mistake. Caleb's new grout offers a 6 month warranty unlike competitors that offer at least 1 year or 7 years. After the 3rd time they came out I asked if they dealt with Epoxy grout, high quality material that their competitor was offering. They said they only did it in new installs. After researching Epoxy grout is the best material but requires expert install, and professional touch. Their competitor was offering Epoxy Grout but I honestly had done little research and trusted the companies. Caleb's New Grout also told me their material would only last 1 year if that. However with Epoxy grout this stuff lasts for years. So they couldn't do Epoxy grout so they went back to grout and installed that. This is where the attached image shows how they destroyed my stone and grout. The job was so careless there's hardened grout all over the stones of my pebbles. They ruined the wall tile as well. They would basically take a huge sponge and wipe grout all over the walls. It was atrocious workmanship. I called them extremely disappointed and they gave me 50% back, but to be honest they have ruined my shower floor and I need to pay someone to fix it. The cost was not cheap either, $650, so basically paid a couple hundred for my shower floor to be destroyed. Again, very nice people, but they do not have the expertise and do not work with high quality materials. The workmanship with the grout was awful. They ruined the stones in my shower. I am beyond disappointed. read more

Carlos with Caleb's New Grout did a great job regrouting my two bathroom floors and entry floors. I had old dirty white grout with lots of holes, and they had great attention to detail making sure that it was all well-replaced with the new darker grout to match my tiles. It all looks much cleaner and sleeker now! Carlos also helped to remove an old sliding shower door that I'm replacing, and rebuild and retile the curb underneath it. The curb was poorly built, not level, and sloped *away* from the shower instead of inward which is code, so that when I put in the new shower door, water won't pool and leak there. Carlos did all this with great attitude and workmanship (especially the curb!). I'll be contacting Caleb's New Grout for my future tile and grout needs! read more

Unfortunately 1 is the lowest possible. In January 2020, Steven came to repair substantial cracks in the Master Bathroom grout. I showed him visible signs of mold. He assured me it wasn't. After resealing the cracked grout, 3 months later the cracks returned. After further investigation, substantial mold and wood rot was found under the house. My wife and I had to endure 14 days of work to remove the mold and repair in Sept. 2020. Steven had also removed the mold and rotted shower curb in which he is not certified, trained or qualified in the removal of harmful mold. We have now found more mold and structural damage under the house that was all present during the first 2 repairs, so we will now need to move into a hotel for several weeks starting October or November 2020. We do not recommend Caleb's Grout service, unfortunately our Property Manager makes the choice of who does the repair. read more

Steven came out the same day I called for initially fixing the calking around the bottom of the shower. He ended up finding much more mold and crumbling structures behind the bottom tiles. He fixed that area perfectly. In a couple of days he came back to do a large cleaning and re-calking of the entire shower, and now the shower looks like it once did 40 years ago. This is long overdue. However I wanted to give my honest review on Caleb's. Let me begin by saying that getting a bath shower remodel is not as simple job as you thought, it required someone who is knowledgeable on water proofing and sealing the tiles properly. I previously had a shower done by a contractor who cut corners on the installation; quickly the shower had water leakage and damaged the subfloor from upstairs to downstairs. Steven from Caleb's come to rescue our home damages. He assessed the situation and gave the options for customers to consider. In order to have the shower water proof warrenty, we chose to have the shower stall redo. During the demolition, he discovered many things were not done in compliance with water proofing by previous job. He communicated the root cause of water leakage, shared evidence of photos with customer, and he corrected the problems. That's how I learned that Bath remodel is not a straight forward job. They required a experienced and qualifiied installer. The details not only involved home protection, water proofing compliance but also shower stall design in materials, tiles, type of grout be used and sealed professionally. I asked them to regrout and seal the marble floor in the main bathroom and replace all the caulking. Caleb's was highly recommended, and I initially hoped they could resurrect my granite tile kitchen floor. Steven quoted me a very reasonable price for redoing the grout and refinishing, but I realized that the floor had such extensive damage that it needed to be replaced. And Steven quoted a very reasonable price for that too. Getting a kitchen floor replaced is not a fun experience by any means, but Steven and crew made it as tolerable as possible.
