Work did not meet expectations - job was rushed, communication was poor and there was no effort to address issues by Zach. We were looking to revitalize our bathroom with a grout refresh. The scope changed significantly once the technician arrived; they said they couldn't perform the agreed "grout floating" and instead completed a basic floor cleaning and limited grout replacement on the shower wall for $1000 - they were in and out in 2.5 hours. Arturo did an excellent job repairing the grout and caulking around my bathtub-- along the perimeter of the tub floor and a few small grout gaps. Everything looks so much better and best of all the water from the broken caulking will finally stay at bay! (That's the plan, anyway!) Zack and his team are simply the best. Needed to have a show regrouted as it was looking tired, beat up and ugly. Sent out quote requests to several companies. Zack responded quickly and gave a reasonable quote and set up an appointment for the following day. Ignacio came by and let me know that there were areas that grouts were missing which water might have gotten into so we needed to let it completed dry out before new grout would set and seal properly. Talked to Zack and decided to have the entire shower cleaned, regrouted and sealed instead of just the floor. It would cost more of course and I hoped I made the right decision. Background story regarding my grout disaster that needed to be fixed: In 2018 I had my bathroom retiled with white tiles. The grout used was quart lock and the color was supposed to be the whitest available. But it looked yellow/dirty against the new white tile as soon as the tiling was completed. To make matters worse the grout was impossible to clean and soon looked very dirty. Finally in June of 2023 I searched for someone to fix the mess. I came across American Grout here on Yelp and spoke with Zachary. He reviewed the photos I sent to him and he explained that the wrong type of grout was used and that the grout would need to be redone. I had thought I would like a pale gray grout but Zachary advised that white grout usually looks better because gray grout darkens when it is wet. However he said that they would bring white grout and gray grout so that I could decide. Based on his explanation, I decided to go with white grout. I was very pleased with the results of Ignacio's work! The tiles finally looked the way I had expected when I had them installed initially. The grout still looks good almost 2 years later. Zach and team was very responsive to my project. I've gathered a lot of estimates from different contractors, but I chose Zach and his company because they had a good amount of reviews, and for a company who is insured, bonded and licensed has provided a reasonable price. Keep in mind, that you are protected when your contractor is insured, bonded and licensed, and worth every dime. I also chose Zach more so for the professionalism his team has displayed. He was the only company who gave me a call and walked me through the reasoning behind the estimate provided. When I requested an estimate from Zach, he provided me one right away, and was able to send someone from his team the same day. Although this is lucky how our schedules work, Zach was very opportunistic and accommodating with my schedule - a customer service I have not received from other Grout companies.
