Honestly the weirdest cleaning appointment I've had in my life. All told I was there well over an…read morehour. Brought back immediately and put in the chair. Some initial questions by some woman who did not introduce herself (receptionist? hygienist?) and does xrays. Then she tells me someone would be back to do the cleaning. Easily 10 minute wait after she disappears. Then the dentist came in and we discussed my bridge and replacing it in the future. He disappears and that wait was easily 20 minutes. When he finally comes back he says he was working on 2 quotes for the bridge repair (why do that during a cleaning appointment) and then proceeds to clean my teeth. I figure I'm done and some woman (no introduction) comes in and gets me to open my mouth to rattle off to another woman my teeth by number, which were missing, etc. When the woman taking off my bib says we're done, I say something like "I guess I had no cavities?" and she says oh, yeah, you did. No future appointment made to fill the cavities.

If it wasn't for the lady who took my x-rays and the dentist themselves this would be a one star…read morereview, I'm still baffled and upset over my appointment first thing this morning. It was already hard enough finding a dentist in the area that accepts my insurance and who could see me sooner than later and by later I mean a few months from now. I came in with pain in my lower left teeth and when they took x-rays they found out I still had wisdom teeth that were impacted and need to be extracted. OK that's fine I'm totally down for that, at least my insurance covers 80% of it so that shouldn't be too bad. But here's where things became really sleazy and messed up. I was told that I was going to need to get my wisdom teeth extracted before I could get a cleaning done. Then they have the audacity to tell me that I need a comprehensive dental cleaning appointment and guess how much I have to pay out-of-pocket because insurance won't cover it? Nearly $4500. I straight up said I don't have that kind of money and then I was told that they have a financing option, cool well I still don't have that kind of money, I live paycheck to paycheck and my husband and I have separate banking accounts, he's not gonna help me pay for this, he expects me to pay for my own stuff as he as he believes these bills are my responsibility regardless of it being under his insurance. I mentioned something about "thanks Trump" in regards to my wages being garnished due to the student loan debt being reinstated by the Department of education, and Ingrid the financer had the nerve to say "I wouldn't blame it entirely on him" so I know that I'm not in good hands in this place which is really disheartening as a woman because this clinic is run entirely by women. I ended up calling a dental clinic downtown with rave reviews over the quality of work, a dental clinic that has been in business since the 80s and the lady on the phone told me that she was 66 years old, she's been doing dental work since she was 18, And in all her years of dental work she has never heard of such a philosophy. And my best friend had the same thing happen with her boyfriend who has military dental insurance. They feel that they are justified in this "philosophy" of theirs but there is no justification in denying a basic cleaning to a new patient because you want them to get their wisdom teeth taken out first after you just told them that a cleaning will help them with the health of their gums and prevent further decay which is something that I was having an issue with. I am so upset considering how close this place was to me and it was in a safe area, I will not recommend this dental clinic to anyone they will rip you off.

This is a huge oversight error.... WMDDS - look hard at photo #120…read more Dr. Rebecca Vanderbaan & Dr. Larissa Bishop The Past President Of The WMDDS Placed A Dental Crown Tooth #3 Backwards And Wrecked My Restoration. A Bridge became loose, A veneer chipped, A crown fell off, another crown became loose, 8 teeth are not touching each other and I have bone loss on several new implants likely caused from this. I have 8 teeth not touching each other and it's going to cost almost $20,000 just to get my teeth touching and fix the mistakes made by the doctors office of the past "president of the WMDDS" and the West Michigan District Dental Society through a complaint just says this is standard care. (How in the world can this be standard care) How did a implant supported crown get placed 180 degrees backwards then get missed then several adjustments to the adjacent teeth were made on four different separate occasions until there was no bite on 8 teeth. Permanent adjustments were made to teeth #5, #6, #7, #26, #27 and #28 all based on a crown tooth number 3 being placed backwards and then let me go with a non-functioning bite. The WMDDS should be looking hard at Photo #120 and look close at tooth #3 then compare it to the model the way the tooth was supposta be placed and you will see tooth #3 was placed 180 degrees backwards and not known for a whole year biting my tongue and cheek everyday over 300 times and sometimes to the point of bleeding and I told the dentist my tooth #3 is biting my tongue and check every single day but everyone ignored it and let me keep biting myself. Photo #120 is the photo that the dental association was weirdly missing. The WMDDS should go back and actually look at this case and see how the clinical exam was unfair, biased and no x-rays or bitechecks were even taken during there clinical exam. How can a dentist be allowed to abandon and discharge a patient without proper procedures and in PAIN and for no reason other than their own failure to diagnose their own mistake, I think it's because the doctor was a past president and on the committee as public relations and is known to have very close relations with almost everyone that decided this case through the WMDDS. The WMDDS should really be investigating all this and they will see this patient was discharged in pain and without proper procedures and should push to open this case back up, investigate it and do the right thing. It's very sad that money is what matters here and I cannot simply get my teeth fixed because biased behaviors exist and the doctors only seem to care about the money. I tried to update the dental association about this backwards crown tooth #3 before the state dental board met and made a decision on this case but was told it's too late for the board to receive new information for review. There has been a major oversight error and this patient should be entitled to enough reimbursement from their member to fix 4 crowns so his teeth will simply function weather reimbursed or paid to the new dentist to get his teeth functioning it's not about the money it's about getting an even, working and functioning bite that's actually within standard care.

After trying three dentists in the area and feeling unsatisfied, I decided to finally try one more time and wow am I so glad I did. Not only was the staff so considerate and welcoming, but I actually felt like I wasn't crazy for my concerns or worries. I felt like the things I was asking for to make the experience more manageable wasn't hard but several other dentists treated me like I just needed to get over my fear rather than helping me overcome it. This is the first time I left a dental office feeling confident and comfortable about scheduling my follow up appointment. My filling was also so well done and super smooth, not gritty like I've had in the past! If you want to have a better experience at the dentist, be sure to give this place a try. This team really is like no other and I am so thankful to have found them!

I don't know where to begin, but know that this review will NEVER begin to cover how I feel about…read morethis office and specifically Dr. Tyler Guinn. I had an amazing initial experience with him to then be treated completely horribly and inhumanely by him in a number of ways. He left teeth 26 and 13 unfinished, causing me agony and suffering, and was completely negligent of my treatment as his patient. I am going to LOSE the teeth he started treating because he left them unfinished and no one would help me since they kept telling me to go back to him and he wouldn't help me even though it was HIS problem to treat. He treated me like I was the lowest human being on earth, and his justification? I was/am extremely depressed. So he gave up on me and treated me like I didn't exist and didn't deserve treatment. Because I was struggling. That was his justification. If you are ever struggling with these feelings, know that he feels you are beneath him. I hope one day he himself or one of his loved ones experiences that because he deserves to feel it first hand. I have been having extreme cold and hot sensitivity with 13 (which I should not be, indicating he likely left nerve tissue still in there or it's reinfected or cracked). I cannot eat and drink without suffering and he should be charged as far as I'm concerned. That is taking away basic human rights to physical nourishment, and he already knew I had an eating disorder, and I think he was intentionally doing that to starve me further and harm me intentionally. And he knew the physical agony I had been having with 26 and he left that unfinished to get re-infected as well. I am going to have to get a biopsy of it and get it extracted, and I very well could have osteomyelitis because of him leaving it open to infection. It was malicious intent. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing, putting me in harms way intentionally. He purposefully didn't finish these teeth so they could get reinfected and cause me harm. He not only didn't care if I had complications, he wanted me to have them. When I called to tell them that I was having problems with the treatment HE did, they told me they wouldn't see me. He never cared that I am suffering and struggling. Someone else tested 13 last week and told me it's still responding to cold and was basically a partially done root canal that is causing problems, and could be cracked at this point. I am taking this to LARA and I have already taken it to the MDA and I want to do more than that. I will take this as far as I can for the suffering he has caused me and the horrific feelings and thoughts running through my mind. He doesn't care about you. He's in this for the money and nothing else. I wish I could make it so he never touched another patient ever again. They ignored me when I called, refusing to call me back, and hanging up on me. One of the most unprofessional offices I have ever encountered and one of the cruelest doctors I have ever seen. Because I was struggling, that's how he chose to treat me. Like I wasn't worthy of care.
