Stayed here in August with my sister and the room was good, smelled nice, etc. Checked in yesterday…read moreat 4:30 and was assigned a room on the first floor for persons with a disability. Normally this isn't a problem - I get when you're low on rooms - but there are maybe 20 other people staying here. Not to mention my profile always requests "highest floor available, please". I went to the front desk and said "So y'all are sooo booked up that I had to have a room for those with disabilities?" He didn't have an answer for that. I mentioned my room in August was much nicer, smelled better, and didn't have dingy carpet and 70's-style nightstands. Front desk guy said "Ummm....we're renovating" (no they are not). My room faces I-35 and is right by the breakfast area. A lot of noise. Plus, the air conditioner is locked and though it says 66 degrees the room didn't cool off. I'll stay elsewhere next time I visit this area.

We asked if the Internet plugs were activated in the rooms and they said yes.. so we buzzed over to Best Buy to grab ethernet cable only to discover it was not hot and wasn't working at all. Tried 3 different laptops! The beds are still lumpy with a metal box spring that makes a loud clunky sound every time you move or get up climb into for that fact. They ate covering something by spraying the hell outta the rooms during their so called cleaning the room. I get a hint of roach killer spray with that fragrance smell behind it. Burned my eyes, nose and chest. Was hard to breathe the first night. The bedding was dirty and had grains Of something in the sheets. I asked for both beds to be changed and not to spray and so called aromatherapy cleaning fragrance or roach killer on the bedding to prevent the swell and skin irritations and they did it anyway. After being out all day.. I wanted to relax and came back to this! I made my way to the front desk and had to grab some fresh bedding minus the perfume roach killer spray on it ( i keep mentioning this is when we first checked in and eyes burned soon as we entered the room; i went to the front desk to explain it to the gal and was told that they use sprays) Seals on toilet were bad would hear water running water ever so often ... I liked the chain location up there in Belton just off I-35 access rd Food was ok but coffee pots dirty and lukewarm coffee.. But this is my gripes and experiences and this will be my last tome at this location.. I tried a few times now and to give this location a chance by kindly letting them know of issues without being overbearing or dramatic.. but given-some of the other reviews that were posted here... proofs in the pudding! Peaceout...!

We had a great one night stay here where attended a high school graduation next door at the Cadence…read moreBank Center. We had a suite where had a lot of square footage with a large separated bedroom, family room, kitchen, and bath. At first the TV in the bedroom and AC was not working, but the hotel staff quickly resolved the matter. Everything else worked fine. It was a full sized kitchen with medium sized refrigerator, microwave, sink, range, dishwasher but no oven. Paper products like paper towels are not provided along with tableware, drink ware and plates. There was also a small bar area with it's own sink. The hotel has WiFi and found the AT&T 5Ge (LTE) signal was very strong. The room was very clean and smelled nice. We had a corner room and views of the hotel next door and main road in front. The hotel also has an ice machine outside the door (could not hear it in room), indoor pool and spa, washer/dryer, and a pantry store at the lobby. Breakfast was served in the morning and enjoyed coffee, eggs, sausage and biscuits. The food was good. Felt safe staying there. The location was perfect where we just walked to the Cadence Bank Center and not deal with parking.

The staff is really friendly and they greet you right when you walk in this hotel makes you feel comfortable. So off the bat great customer service the hotel was very clean and I even had a a great conversation with the house cleaning supervisor we ended up being in the elevator together. She was really nice. The room was kind of small, but it still got the job done. The pool area was my absolute favorite. It has a Jacuzzi and a pool and a back patio with chairs. The pool area was clean as well, and so is the gym area. I would have gave this hotel five stars if I could flush my toilet in my room that was my only problem with this hotel. But next time I come, I'm sure the problem will be fix but like I said this hotel is remodeling , so I'm sure once it gets up and running properly things like that shouldn't be a problem. Customer service was 10 out 10 I will definitely come back

Warning: this place is crawling with bugs!!…read more I was in town on business and had a few free days to myself to explore Texas. I got a rental car and had plans to find a hotel near Austin and then spend the day in Austin. Unfortunately, when I got to the Round Rock area, I found that there were a billion tournaments/conferences going on and that all the hotels were completely booked. I asked three different hotels if they knew where the closest availability was, and all told me they had heard about 30-40 miles north was the nearest availability. After making some calls, I did finally find a room at the Best Western Plus in Salado. I arrived tired after a day's worth of driving at about 9pm and was given the key to my room on the 3rd floor. Within the first 20 minutes I had killed and flushed large carpenter ants that I had found in the bathroom. Upon inspecting the carpet, I found dead carcasses of carpenter ants and various beetles. I noticed that the bugs seemed to be coming from the air conditioner, which made sense as the air conditioner had not been turned on until I came into the room. There were about 8 carpenter ants at the base of the air conditioner. I called the night manager and told him bugs were coming from the air conditioner and he came up with a broom and a bin and swept the ones he could see. After telling him I really didn't feel comfortable with bugs in the room, he offered me another room, which of course I took. I half-debated just leaving then and there, but I knew my only option was to sleep in my rental car by that point, so I took the second room. The night manager turned on the air conditioning in the second room and waited for a few minutes with me to see if any bugs crawled out of it. As we were waiting, he told me he thought the bugs were coming from the field across the way and told me not to worry because they don't bite. After he left, I found large carpenter ants crawling in the bathroom yet again and on the carpet, although not as many as there were in the first room. There were also dead bugs in the carpet around the chairs and the edge of the room. I tried to suck it up and fall asleep as I knew there wasn't anywhere else to go and I did need to rest but then I started thinking, "If this is how they handle the big bugs, do they even check for bed bugs?" I mean clearly they don't vacuum. I was ready to go but did want to take a shower - until I found a dead bug in the shower curtain. By 3:30am, I had packed up and checked out, telling the night manager that I was leaving because of the bugs. When I glanced around the lobby, I was astonished to find that there were at least 15 bugs I could see, with 3 bugs crawling at my feet. I don't know how I missed them when I first checked in. I tried to get my money back, and I told the hotel that I had photographic proof that I was willing to share with them AND review sites, but all the owner would offer was a gift card for Best Western hotels good for half of what the room cost. I told them I wanted my money back, as I'm pretty sure I'll never stay with a Best Western ever again after this, but he told me he had to pay for the maid service to clean the rooms I was in. I told him if the rooms had been cleaned before I arrived there wouldn't be so many bugs. Customer service told me that as Best Westerns are independently owned, there was nothing they could do except take what the owner offered. I told the owner he had a bug problem and he replied, "well, I can't do anything about the bugs." The next night I stayed at a Westin in Dallas. When I was checking in at the Westin, I told the Westin employee of my horrid night here (I looked very ragged because I had not slept) and she was so sympathetic that she gave me a discount on my room, free meals and free services at the Westin in the hopes it would better my opinion of Texas. The stark difference in hospitality! Bottom line: This Best Western is full of bugs crawling everywhere and the owner does not care. Avoid!

The staff was horribly rude, and the common areas were dirty. My family complained about the banana-colored walls in the rooms and horrible traffic noise from IH 35. The place was clean and just the right size for my wife and I. Being city folks you forget how dark it is out in the country at nights. It was nice. We signed up for these adventures to make the weekend even more fun: 1. Feed baby kangaroo(Bodhi). This was about a 30 minute session where we got to feed him a bottle and kibble. It really was an amazing experience. 2. Bucket of food and self guided feeding of animals. We walked the property and hid to feed so many animals. All of the animals were friendly toward people. They were all very good motivated. We encountered a giraffe, donkeys, zebras, horses, cows, pigs, dwarf steers, camels, emu, deer, buffalo and more. The animals were often trying to bully their way to the front of the line. The cow Oreo who has not skipped a meal was always front of the line. 3. Afternoon safari ride in ATV. This was a fun ride around the property. Did not see any new animals but had a great time. The cows out at pasture were thrilled to be fed. 4. Giraffe encounter and meal. This was a little expensive but I would spend it again. The giraffes were super friendly and personable. We wanted to take them home because they were so much fun. The guide, experience and never felt rushed made this worth it. Our guide was top notch. I think her name was Jackie but could be wrong.

At check in I walked into the lobby and immediately noticed it was hot and dirty. I hoped it was just a busy day with everyone checking in and that it would be cleaned up, but it never was. I think on our 3rd or 4day there we did see someone cleaning a little bit it was never clean. Our room air did work so the rooms got cool, but the fleece blanket between the sheets had crusty stain. They never cleaned the rooms just came in Davian's swapped out towels and trash bags. It felt dirty the whole time we were there. Carpet in room and halls were stained and even rough edges showing. One day they didn't replied towels and we went down to ask for more and no one was at the desk. I went to my room and called down and no one answered. After a while I went down again and the front desk lady and 2 of the ladies I had seen working there were all sitting out on the patio hanging out. One was drinking a beer. I had to ask who to get towels from and one of them laughed and said oh that's me. It was the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. One of the entry doors leaks water so the door is all wet and it drips on you as you walk in. I will include pictures but they do not do justice to just how ran down this place is. It was much cheaper with the event discount we got but I would have happily paid more to be somewhere else if there was available rooms.
