About the Venue: We were in Stonehaven Hall, one suggestion is it is a LOT of wood. I am grateful that my mom had mentioned that she found some gauze for the day for the chairs. I included a photo with both the black and white gauze on the chairs for the head table. We used the black outside on the white aisle chairs and the white gauze on the wood ones inside. It tied the venue's design with the wedding colors so perfectly! We also brought in our own lanterns as a touch for our outside ceremony to line the aisle and then on the stairs to decorate. We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding venue! From start to finish, everything was seamless, beautifully organized, and beyond what we ever imagined. The space itself is stunning and created the most magical backdrop for our daughter's day, but what truly set this venue apart was the incredible staff. She was super helpful in taking care of last minute items and making sure we were okay throughout the day. My only downside of this venue was we had some slight disappointments with the DJ. Customer service is alright until you get everything paid for, then you're forgotten. Could be weeks before they return your call. Served the wrong entrée on our wedding night (after having it confirmed for weeks in advance) and took almost 2 weeks before reaching out to right THIER wrong. The venue also shoved our wedding cake in several broken and cut parts into a box after being asked several times for a preserved layer to keep. Preserved!! Offered a measly 15% food cost refund for messing up the most important aspect venue management was in charge of. Pathetic. Just a slap in the face after thousands of dollars paid to get such a tiny amount back for such a major error on the venue's behalf. Zero remorse at all from the venue and they couldn't care less about us after the event. Just sad. They even had the audacity to offer a 20% refund for just the food cost with a hush order signed to prevent low reviews. Yes, they really said this. Pretty unbelievable. Everything else was great and Destiny was awesome on our wedding day. To have this happen on such an important day and then to make such minimal and unconcerned efforts to right their wrong is just a slap in the face after literally thousands and thousands of dollars were paid to the venue months in advance. With a menu made months in advance and confirmed several times. Please save yourselves the potential to have the wrong main course served and expensive wedding cake completely destroyed by the Milestone and look elsewhere. Really not sure why the reviews are so low, but this place was amazing! Brandon and Destiny (our coordinators) were so awesome and so passionate about the job. They made sure everything went smooth, the venue communicated well with us, and not one time during the wedding did we as a couple stress. read more

I was disappointed with what I hoped would be a smooth partnership between The Milestone and my family. The venue is beautiful, but not worth the money considering the services provided and the additional fees constantly being tacked onto the bill. The staff was unwilling to work with my family to make modifications to the event during the planning process, even when suggested months in advance, unless there was a monetary benefit for them. I felt as if there was always a hoop I had to jump through to make this event what my family and I hoped it would be. I was also surprised by the lack of willingness to create a reasonable schedule leading up to the event: We had the two hours immediately prior to set up, which meant anyone helping prep was sweaty and tired by start time. The guests of honor had to do most of their preparation alone or prior to arriving, instead of in the suites with their closest loved ones as would be ideal. Overall, I felt that we were seen as dollar signs at this venue instead of valued customers celebrating a milestone event. I would not recommend this venue. read more

My husband and I had an absolutely gorgeous wedding here recently but I would NEVER go bad here or recommend this venue to anyone. They will find any and everything way to get every penny of your refund back. Like accusing us of additional people being there when in our videos it shows two empty rows of chairs after the ceremony started, which means everyone was seated. The staff was so rude wedding day besides maybe one person. My grandmother wasn't feeling well, so she asked for a chip and they told her no. We had so much extra food and nobody got to get seconds even though we paid for it. The alcohol you pay for, you don't get to keep either. We only had ONE bartender for 244 people so most people didn't get but one drink! You only get to account for 10% of your guest counts as children/minors for a soda bad. After 10% you still have to pay a FULL bar tab for them. Yes, even your little 8 year old cousins that come. You're paying for alcohol for them that they don't even drink and they keep the alcohol after. They are completely unprofessional, and ignore pretty much any email but are QUICK to reach out when they need money and boy you better have it on time. Management was so much better before Walter's bought them out. Like I said, we had a beautiful ceremony and venue because our people made it happen but I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

To whom it may concern, My name is Austin and I have a wedding scheduled on September 12th at The Milestone in New Braunfels, TX. Recently, my fiancé and I have been trying to reason with those in charge of attempting to make this a joyous occasion for us but sadly coming up short. As most of our guest list are either living in California or at risk for contracting Covid-19 with serious repercussions, we have made it clear that not only will some of them not be able to make it, but those that wouldn't be able to would include most of the grooms side of the family including but not limited to the mother of the groom and the officiant, the groom's (my) grandfather. Now from a legal standpoint, we understand that the contract pretty much has us right where you intended, paying with no source of recourse or flexibility, however we have been trying to find the decency that may surface when something as serious as a global pandemic and the health of most of our guests surfaces after the contact is signed. Even something as small as making us put another small deposit down on another date to stay with your venue and not lose all that we have saved for this day didn't seem like a wild concept considering the fact that maybe half our guests would even be able to be in attendance. Not only was it made very clear that that was not an option, but we were also reminded of the fact that if less than our original guest list was in attendance, our funds wouldn't be refunded but rather allocated elsewhere in a miserable act of saving a few extra dollars on your end. While this may get me nowhere, I just figured someone higher than the the staff at our specific venue would appreciate hearing about the miserable service and lack of accommodation we have received throughout a global pandemic. I spent almost an entire day emailing the venue director, Emma. Asking many questions and was upfront about my requests and budget. It was not until 4 1/2 hours in that she decided to finally disclose the 28% service fee. Be aware of hidden fees and charges. Getting married is a stressful time and to be blindsided by almost $1,700 worth of fluff and fees was very frustrating. Email I sent to the Milestone team perfectly sums up why you SHOULD NOT book with any of the Walter Weddings Corporations: My fiancé and I both have been laid off of work due to the coronavirus. This money that we have been saving up and putting into our dream wedding is our livelihood. We are living a complete nightmare and the virus is expected to go on for weeks. We have no jobs and will soon run out of money to pay our bills and help support our families. This is the first time that something like this has ever happened in the history or the United States and it has torn apart the entire country. This is a circumstance that nobody ever saw happening and you are taking complete advantage of that. You are refusing to refund us back the money and gave us the option of pushing it forward or completely losing the money. It is disgusting to think your company would be as selfish and greedy though this time of great need. Furthermore, when we spoke on the phone a representative informed me that your company was not enforcing payments nor were they enforcing late fees due to the virus. However, that information was not communicated with your clients. You only told them if they reached out which is appalling. Clients had to reach out to you before you even gave them an inch of sympathy. Most companies were sending out letters, emails and speaking with news sources to convey their messages of valuable information that would help put their clients and their families minds at peace. This virus is not something the United States will financially recover for weeks to come and president trump expects the virus to only progress. I should be worrying about the health of my family and my own health. However, instead I have been going crazy wondering what I can do to get this money back to continue supporting my family. This cancellation was not due to an accident that we needed to cancel, not a breakup and not a loss of money. It is due to a national pandemic that had RUINED the lives of many people in the United States to include my own. It has pushed my limits to the farthest extents and it pushing me towards a nervous breakdown. This venue has a gorgeous Hill Country setting, the ceremony site will take your breathe away. I was really impressed with both of the event halls, one is more modern and is one is more traditional. They really appeal to all types of events. read more

Read the fine print! This venue conducts business without a conscience. When the groom's father experienced an unexpected grave health issue and COVID rose to record heights we had no choice but to reschedule my daughter's wedding. They were unwilling to allow us to reschedule without forfeiting the entire $6,000 we'd paid toward the original date and said we'd have to pay 100% again for another date, despite the fact that they were no longer going to incur expenses we'd paid for on the original date such as staffing, security, set up, clean up, etc. They even suggested we move ahead as planned without the groom's father. They were completely unwilling to work with us at all and referred us back to the contract language stating postponements will be treated as cancellations. Incidentally, every other vendor we had booked with was understanding of the situation and worked with us on rescheduling. Thankfully, we have event insurance in place that we hope will help, but regardless we will not be back to The Milestone New Braunfels and encourage others to think twice before booking here as well. read more

I got married here one month ago. First, I want to mention that the venue is absolutely beautiful! I received many compliments about how pretty the ceremony and reception was. However, I have some concerns about this venue. My wedding ceremony and reception were both held inside the building. I requested the ceremony set up have rows of chairs and the reception set up have round tables and chairs. I was told two years ago when we booked the venue that the coordinators would help transition the ceremony to the reception. I assumed it wouldn't be an issue until I found out about a month before my wedding that the coordinators are not responsible for the transition and that I would have to find people to help me make the transition from ceremony to reception. I refused to ask my guests to help my move tables and chairs to transition from ceremony to reception, so I had to settle for one floor plan. The venue tried to make my father in law, who cooked food for the reception, buy a catering license when the contract clearly didn't mention the need for a catering license if our food was self catered. Our family members, who were exhausted, had to stay behind and clean up the venue after the reception. I understand we were locked into an older contract but it would have been nice if a clean up crew were there to help. I only saw the coordinator once during our reception. During the reception, our DJ announced that there was a scorpion in the women's dressing room. I also noticed in my wedding pictures that the venue did not have the white netting hanging from the ceiling. I was told that the white netting is part of the venue set up so I was expecting it to be up for our wedding. Overall, this is a very pretty venue, but for $4500, it's not worth having all the work put on you and your family. read more

The only positive thing I can say about this venue is that it is truly beautiful inside and outside. The staff was unwilling to work with me on adjusting my needs for my event. When the contract was originally signed, we wanted upgraded linens, cocktail tables, and bar service for 100 people. The event changed and we no longer needed these services. We explained the situation to the staff 7 months before our event (at that time we had only paid a deposit) and they refused to remove the linens, cocktail tables, and adjust the number of guests even though nothing had been ordered for our event yet. Keep in mind, we still wanted to have the event, we just wanted to customize the event to be what we need. Additionally, this venue offers military discount but refused to apply it to our event because we didn't ask for it the day of the contract signing, we remembered a few days later and asked. Despite the nickel and diming and truly horrible customer service we received, we had the event anyway and the staff sat in their office during the majority of the event and if I needed anything like a pair of scissors or a lighter, I had to walk upstairs to their office and find our coordinator because she was nowhere to be found downstairs. The venue also blocks you out for four hour time slots but only keeps the bar open for three hours, then doesn't allow you to take home the unused alcohol even though you paid for it. I would never recommend this venue. If you want a venue that has AMAZING staff, allows you to customize your event up until two weeks before your event, and is present during your event to bend over backwards for you, go to Olympia Hills. I had an amazing experience with them and they set the standard that Milestone simply cannot match. read more
