All of the employees here are incredibly kind and give great recommendations. They let us try a few wines before deciding on a glass. When we arrived at 1:30 on a Saturday, they had a special for $7 glasses of wine from 12-2. They have a singer named Devin Baize, who was fantastic, playing on the patio. As a Californian who frequently visits Napa and Paso Robles, I didn't have the highest expectations going into wine tasting at Dry Comal Creek Vineyards, and wow was I entirely wrong. Came in for a tasting Saturday morning with a friend who lives locally and had the most wonderful time! Sheila helped us out and she was so fun to talk to and so knowledgeable, she really made the experience amazing. Other people also stopped by to help and chat and everyone was so so lovely and friendly. I loved the Alegria, Blanc de blanc, and the Riesling. Bummed they can't currently ship to California but will definitely be having our friends bring us a case when they next road trip (and they also gave me hope that shipping to CA will be an option next year). I would be so happy to return on our next trip out; thank you so much Sheila for such a great experience! read more

Another great time at the winery. If you can you need to join the wine club . My friend and I joined the Brahma level. For the pickup party (when you pick up your case of wine ) we had a 3 course catered event by My Sweet Basil- oh so delicious! Each dish paired with a very generous pour of wine. We started out with a nicely chilled white sparkling wine just perfect for this very hot day, followed by alternating red and white , Chenin Blanc for a total of 4 tastings. Rudely turned us away before we even finished getting out of the car because we had my grandkids who were under 21 with us. I've never been to a winery that's not been kid friendly. While other reviews said they were offered gift cards, if they wanted to come back without the kids later. We were not offered anything, and just told to go somewhere else. read more

Good live music here on a Friday evening. There is no restaurant, but there was a food truck with upscale food. good touch. The winery sits on the dry comal creek, which one can't see because of a built up border. The wine was very good and the "keeper of the wine" offered us a free tasting so we would know what to buy. but, it was a small pour when I received what I bought. I want to give them 5 stars but the weather was terribly hot! However the setup is cute and nice with better fans or cooler air somehow. We got the flight (5 wines) and all tasted great! Enjoyed our afternoon at our first winery in Texas. Midway thru, definitely had to move inside as the heat became intolerable. Felt bad for the musician who was setting up as we really wanted to hang outside. The food truck was surprisingly good (Giza - mediterranean food). Lastly, clean bathroom and plenty of space to park. Love this vineyard. We try to come by each time we're in hill country. Staff very friendly and nice. Inside with a long table and several smaller tables and a bar area. Outside covered area with large fans. Then there are uncovered seatings under large trees which is really nice of not too hot or too cold. Sometimes they have food trucks. If not they have food - pizza, dip, chips. Can do wine tasting or buy a glass or bottle and hang outside. We have done both. (They do not do tastings for large parties.) Each of us enjoy a different type of wine - Riesling, temperanillo, herbelin, Mourvèdre. Def recommend. read more

Showed up today so reminisce w the kids What a joke! 21 & over venue (enter eye roll) it was hot AF outside and there were like 4 people in the entire place!!!! Escorted off the property before we could even get our one year out of the car due to us having a little one. A lady also offered us gift card for a free wine tasting and recommended to come back "when you have a sitter". It's a beautiful venue!! Sitting under the shade of the oak trees, nice live music in the back ground, very peaceful setting. They had a food truck parked at the winery serving some great crepes. Courteous, attentive staff. Only thing they are missing is some good wine. Don't be to be a snob, but we had a bottle of their Albarino and Rose, neither were what I'd call palatable. read more

We've been coming here for over 20 years, but we will never return. Yesterday we took a seat outside but were promptly escorted off the property because we had our 1-year-old granddaughter with us. What?!?! The lady explained that all 542 members voted to exclude children from their establishment during COVID???? She offered us a $50 gift card, so next time we can get a babysitter. Well wasn't a great experience the place is beautiful but the customer services is bad, we went a party of 5, we did the wine tasting but they asks you if it was our first time yes but for what not guiding, no info were restrooms are, didn't offer us some water we have to ask for it and go get it from self serve dispenser, they didn't explain to us that there is no food when there is a food truck, and it took for ever in between each tasting, never asks us which wine we liked! Or if we wanted to order more, only good thing was the food truck ( bayou bites) super sweet couple with great food. By the way wine and grapes are not from there or made there , they come from other parts of texas as waiter told us. Sooo winery not so much a winery. read more

It is absolutely barbaric that they don't offer indoor seating in late July in Texas during a heat wave. We visited on a day that was well over 100 degrees outside. Had we not driven way out of our way to try this place, we would have left. We were met in our car by someone who told us where and how to park. Seriously? I know how to park without blocking others in, but thanks for making me feel stupid before leaving my car. He also told us that the restrooms were a jaunt away from the tasting area. Once seated, we started our tasting. The venue is lovely and would be a great place to sit outside in cooler weather. Our servers darted out of their air-conditioned space to quickly pour our wines and disappeared again. Each round of our tasting had a different server (the one who drew the short straw, I guess). They literally poured and ran back inside. I think the wines were okay. It was too hot to really enjoy them. I got through my tasting as quickly as possible so I could leave. read more

Totally chill relaxing place to enjoy some wine with friends. Nestled back among the oak trees off 46, this place is a little gem. Patio has a view of the vineyard, and when the weather cools off there is nothing better than sitting under the trees enjoying the fire pits. Community tables make for great conversation & an easy way to meet people when new to the area. Check Facebook for date nights & various events. To really get the feel for this spot, it's best to go when there is a band & food trucks. Experienced friendly staff really make this place stand out. I don't know much about wine so staff was great about helping me select an excellent "Wurst Red" wine. This place probably deserves a 5 star for good time, but I lowered it to 4 since seating indoors is limited. And chairs on the patio are not very comfortable. I will certainly update my review if changes are made. Would love to see some comfy coffee house style couches indoors to make it more comfortable. Pro Tip: Order the red or white frozen sangria. It is the BOMB!! Tastes like a fruit slushy in the most delicious way. read more

What a wonderful little hill country winery tucked away from the fast paced world! My fiancee and I have come out here several times on a motorcycle ride to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and get away from the traffic in the city. We love their frozen sangria and the Comal Red. They offer a plastic boot for $20 that they fill with their delicious frozen Sangria. Bring the boot back and refills are only $10! The staff here are so nice and helpful too. On our last visit we were going to each have a glass of wine and the lady told us for a few dollars more we could buy the whole bottle. You don't have to tell me twice! Grab a seat outside, either by one of the many oak trees, or under the shaded pavilion and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. read more

Very quaint and peaceful winery. There is a gift shop, indoor seating as well as outdoor seating (in the shade and in the sun). There are a bunch of wines to sample as well as one champagne and their famous sangria slush (my favorite). The ladies are so helpful with the samplings and very knowledgable about the wines and where the grapes come from (not all can be grown on site due to certain bugs and climate reasons). I was very intrigued that they decanter their wine when you buy a bottle. I have always heard of this but have never seen a place do it. We were able to taste a wine before and after decantering and WOA what a difference!! I'm not sure why more places don't do this This is a fun place to get away to with the country feel and relaxing atmosphere. read more

I wish I could give Dry Comal Creek Vineyards over five stars. The wine was incredible, the patio seating was spacious, and the staff was VERY friendly and helpful. We didn't realize we needed a reservation until after we arrived, but the sweet lady at the entrance helped us make a reservation so we could get seated. The outdoor seating was very spread out, and there was a lot of shade from all the large trees. Our server helped us choose a bottle, and brought us any sample we wanted before purchasing a bottle. The wine was so good we left with a couple bottles to bring home. The pricing is very affordable ($20-$30 a bottle). I would highly recommend visiting this gem near New Braunfels. read more

Worst experience! Had a party of 20 coming to do the wine tasting and they tuned us away because we had a 3 month old baby with us. Said if they allow a 3 month old then then it would open it up for teenagers....WTF? Nothing to do with TABC, just the ambience. I love this vineyard. Just picked up the 2017 Foot pressed red wine. It is not available to the public but available to those that participated in last years stomping event. People are very friendly and outgoing. The different wines are delicious. I like all of the reds, especially the Black Spanish Dark Red Lenoir 2012 Reserve , which has a nice bold berry flavorI am not a fan of white wines but their French Colombard is amazing. It is a great light summer wine that is soft, fruity and mellow and so is the Spanish black and white wine. The vineyard is a great place for weddings and parties. It is a very quiet and restful place. read more

We were here years ago and were looking forward to visiting again. We got there and were told no one under 21 could be on the property. It was due to Covid (which was 3 years ago) and because people weren't watching their kids. Our son is 18 and didn't need watching. They said this was done to help manage the crowds. We were literally the only 3 non employees there. The staff was not very friendly. With so many options in the area I would definitely recommend any place other than this one. read more
