Against my better judgement, we agreed. When the electrician arrived, he stated there would be a $600 charge just for troubleshooting to determine the trouble. $800 before any actual repairs would be started? That's insane. Needless to say, I paid him the $195 and sent him on his way. Determined to get our money, his supervisor phoned us twice in ten minutes, pleading with us to keep the appointment, offering to reduce a mere $75 off the total charge. To think we would cave in to that was an insult. We managed to have someone repair the breaker and outlet for under a $100. Never will we call these people again.

Several other electrical companies charged over $100 just to come out and do an estimate before even doing any work - I found this to be ridiculous and decided to go with "James Morrow Electrician and Handyman." I can tell you right away that I made a solid decision as that Jim did a great job from the gecko! He was very responsive, professional and explained everything he is going to do over the phone so that I felt comfortable with choosing him as a professional. When he arrived, he was very respectful to the property. He did not mind me watching him install the electrical outlets in my home and explain how the whole system works. Jim did a fantastic job of eliminating one of my existing electrical outlets and moving it up. He also installed a new GFI outlet in my bathroom so that I can hook up my beloved Japan-style bidet toilet. Overall Jim is very knowledgeable and experienced in his electrical work, as well as very meticulous in little details. He takes pride in his job from start to finish to ensure the job is done right the first time. I felt very comfortable with Jim and "James Morrow Electrician and Handyman." She had a handyman install a water heater that subsequently caught fire. The handyman came back out and replaced it, but I had serious concerns about the quality of his work and my mom's safety. I called out the local Mr Sparky office who sent a technician that was rude, pushy and disinterested in looking at the water heater. He insisted that her fuse box was well passed its lifespan and told me the wires inside were all melted and that it needed to be replaced immediately at a cost of $8089.00. I told him I would need a second opinion which agitated him. I called Mid Penn and Brian came out the next morning. He was courteous and thorough in his investigation beginning with the water heater. He didn't see any obvious problems, but tightened up the wiring done by the handyman. He looked at the panel box, meter and so forth and determined that everything was still within its expected work life and functioning correctly. It was a completely different experience and saved us from being robbed by the other electrician. I can't thank Brian enough for putting all of our minds at ease with his respectful business demeanor, thorough review and clarity on so many seemingly frightening bits of misinformation. We decided to enroll in there program to come out regularly and check in the electrical systems in my mom's house. You can't buy that kind of assurance to concerns for a loved one. It's earned. He also installed a new outlet for an overly sensitve humidity sensor for my bathroom ventilator. It kept going on over and over again. I had to keep turning it off multiple times a day. He also cut the ends off of some shades I had ordered. They are custom made shades and I apparently gave the wrong measurements and they were too long. I had called around to different stores and no one was willing to help me unless I had bought the shades from them. I mentioned it to Vlad to see if he knew of anyone who could help me out, and he said I can try. He is an electrician, but he used his skills to really help me out.
